The organics... easy.

With the shotters, it created tension for spidey when he was chasing villians, fighting them or running away from them. Because he could run out of web fluid all the time. Also, he could adapt his web fliud so that he could fight certain villians... like sandman. He needed to create a special fluid so that he could capture him. Now, with thses organics, that wont happen.

It also showed how smart he was too.

organic webbing was great. goblin's costume looked better than if it was that leathery mask.

I hope some independant filmmaker 10 years down the road remakes the spider-man films... Maybe by then Ari Avad will be gone by then... and real spider-man movies can be made.

I don't know about some of you all, but my anticipation for spider-man 3 went down after watchign spider-man 2.

How come? It wasnt near as horrible as the first one although it was dissapointing the way it all ended, having Mj find out his identity. That was totally unnessary. The second one I enjoyed much more than the first one because just like the comics,it had Peter giving up his identity by throwing his suit on the garbage can and walking away and it also showed all his problems he had to deal with all the time not being able to reveal his identity to mj.That was what I really enjoyed most about the second one was the hangups he dealt with because of that issue just like in the comics, but then they ruined all that at the end by having her find out his identity when they could have made a sequel in the future him having those same hangups to deal with. They just had to ruin the whole film at the end for me by doing that. Now that she knows his indentity, like you,I cant get excited about the next one either. That being said,I cant excited about the next one either and agree with you as well. They need to stop trying to top themselves with sequels and restart it all over again like they did with Batman Begins because we really havent had a spidey movie made yet that was loyal or faithful to the comicbook.

getting back to topic,it makes me sick the people on here that say organic webbing was great. That they dont care how Raimi has bastardized spideys character.

I actually enjoyed the second movie less then the first one, because they didn't fix the problems the first one offered. The webshooters, as I've stated, never really bothered me as the bastardization of how spidey ACTS.

He's just not funny, he has about 4 or 5 funny lines in the two movies COMBINED. This is the biggest mortal sin to me in regards to spider-man, heck the first few issues of spider-man had more jokes in them then the movies. It just annoyed me to no end.

And then the second movie had some secenes that were just ******ed, like the cake secene. I was just going what in the name of hell? And how EVERYONE AND THEIR FRIGGIN GRAMA found out who spider-man was.

And then the fights bugged me, Spidey was delivering blows to ocks friggin face. He can hold up a gigantic piece of wall, but he can't know out a normal strength human? Please. Ugh, I'm not even going to get into GeMJ. So I suppose my faith in SM3 has dulled quite a bit also.

I think I'm waiting for the dvd before viewing SM3... that is if I actually view it

I picked the green goblin costume. It could have been alot better. The organics were fine for me.

it's interesting to see that the goblin costume was hated more than the organic costumes.

I wonder if the poll would have showed similar results had this been created back when this site was only spidermanhype.com

Neither to me. I'd rather the webbing be organic instead of having Ben Reilly-esque shooters on the outside of the costume, and the Green Goblin mask made of rubber.....that'd look a bit cheapish for the head of a multimillion dollar corporation.

Neither bothered me that much, but of the two, I think the costume. What made it worse was I saw the original concept drawing, and it looked friggin sweet. Sony wanted to save money, and we basically got a watered down (and much less visually pleasing) version of that design.

Now, what infuriates me even more, is that, now that they can spend that much money on a spider-man movie, Sony still didn't use that awesome design and gave us the crap suit that Harry has on now.

Just look at Harry's :(

yeah i know. its sad to see the decline in quality of details in these movies. It's a face sheild... but they couldn't give him a helmet? The dude is on a glider and can easily crack his skull in an accident. I doubt that the performance enhancers makes up for a lack of helmet... but who knows what they have in store for this 3rd one.

I really don't have a problem with either, but I voted for the Goblin costume.

The Goblin costume isn't necessarily the best they could have done, but it has grown on me and I'm fine with it. I loved the organic webbing aspect that Raimi added to the movies. It just made sense. There was no way that Peter could create a web shooting device in his Aunt and Uncle's house with the funds that he, as a student, had. He's smart, but it would just be too hard to believe that a high school student could construct a device like that on his own.

I almost went with organics, but I'm leaning towards GG's costume.

I'm worried what dumb idea they'll come up with for spider-man 3. In spidey 2, they tried to create "tension" in making spidey lose his powers and having it explained as a mental/stress issue. Now with spidey 3 and Sandman being a villian, I wonder if they'll do somethign to alter his web fluid to fight Sandman more effectively and increase the "tension"... probably explaining it as something he needs to alter by changing his diet to chang ethe consistency of his fluid. So unfortunate how one dumb change leads to so many others...

had they just kept the webshooters, the movies wouldn't have these "creative" decisions.

The best change they made about Spider-Man was the web shooters. Spider webs are things that real spiders do, it makes sense that if someone were to achieve the powers of a spider, they would be able to shoot webs.

Stan Lee made a mistake by not giving Peter the ability to shoot webs. He wanted to show how good a scientist he was, but it was already understood he was a science geek and there were other ways he could have shown it.

Opinions vary and if someone doesn't like it fine, but it seems there are people who assume everyone doesn't like it when most either like it or are simply fine with it.

there should be a BOTH option in the pole, but matthooper makes a point...

Matthooper makes a point, my ass. Whatever, with your logic matt, we should have spider-man shooting webs from his a-hole :whatever:

If you cant suspend disbelief for a comicbook movie then you dont deserve to have an opinion.:o
I'm sick of excuses such as yours. If you want realism, go and watch the discovery channel. Not everything in fiction has to make sense or be realistic for that matter, hence the term, fiction.
spider-man is a genius, Lee introduced us to this but spider-man wasn't the F4 or a mutant, he was a very clever and resourceul kid, hence why he was able to create such a fantasic costume and web-shooters. The web shooters is what the cape is to superman, it's a must. Creating web shooters was another factor that differentiated spider-man from any other fictional character, its a 1 of a kind functional and practical gadget that Raimi, courtosy of James Cameron butchered. Further more, we have organics that insult the concept of mechs by having the movies make peter tap the middle of his palms to eject web-fluid:whatever: pure bs. The concept of organics takes away from peter a defining trait and characteristic just because Raimi and co couldn't be bothered to tell spider-man's story properly.
The concept of orgs is something I can get over and have but is inexcusable and given the opportunity such as now, I will say my piece on the matter.

You know what? I don't see how the damned Man-Spider movies got so popular anyway. they practically strayed from the comics in everything BUT costumes...
