Because basically you're just making it seem like you're overcompensating for your ancestors crimes of the past by putting other races up on a pedestal above yourself and other whites. We're all just people. Individuals. Gotta judge each person on their own merits, not by what race they are or where in the world they're from or whether they like a particular brand of beer better than another one.

My main point is other then white bigots and inexcusable racism that still exists maybe things aren't as bad as they seem... im on the boards alot and wont deny problems like this exist, but it's like every week another "black thread" about oppression or something is brought up, which doesn't even really raise awareness just typically the whole "angry young black" that's been played to death... hell being white we don't even get a scholarships for our skin color, yet every other race does... times are changing, ya things are still bad but i really don't see whites getting any privileges anymore just bigots stopping others from getting higher up. Yeah I'm rambling a little so bare with me, that tends to happen when i spew information out of my mind. I don't put one race ahead of another in all honesty but my main point was the jokes on us whites, ill speak i guess for the bigoted side and say the jokes on them, cuz there not superior in anyway. Yes racism still exists but I get tired of ever week the same stuff is said over and over again because a black teen thinks everyone is out to get him, it's not always just about race and i won't condone racism by any means and know how important awareness is... yet at the same time getting angry every 5 seconds and blaming racism for everything solves absolutely nothing. It's called prove people wrong and do something moving..

There's nothing great about being White over black in my opinion, ya blacks have been through the ringer like hell but they are by far the superior... as are all other races that simply make us whites inferior.

Blacks have...

-better athletes

-better singers (and im not talking rap/hip hop... nothing is more beautiful then jazz, gospel, and soul music... no one can dish it out more meaningful then that.... and i find no other music as moving)

-taller

-bigger #$%@ size... everyone knows its true.. and that alone is one hell of a thankful thing

whether the ideaology is dated are not it doesn't take a genius to see what the majority is. very few white people can belt out gosspel and soul like black singers do, and i don't see an argument about that one at all... and look at most sports... theres an obvious reason why basket ball is mostly black.... there naturally taller and better athletes.

and i wont use the term races because were all the human race but to say biologically some nationalities aren't more evolved in some areas others are not isn't true either.

This thread wasn't put together in hopes of projecting an angry black man wtv you called it.
In fact it was never really my intention to make it a black/white thing, mostly a visible minority/white thing.

Things like affirmative action can be confusing, but the logic behind it is this; The race concept was exploited in order to severely disenfranchise and debilitate people of "colour", and they are so far behind at this point that the only way to counter the negative effects would be to use the race concept in order to give advantage to people of "colour", in the hope that eventually things might break even.

Then people get mad, say you should earn your keep, but inadvertently that attitude is reasoning that we should just leave things as is, with minorities 2 steps back.

Even though I admit they are complicated issues doesn't mean I don't think I gave good answers, just that it would take longer then anyone would care to read to reply, I'd have to start flipping through textbooks and notes...

Two words: Legacy Applications. Look it up. Just to let you know, all of them are predominately white. Upper class, sure, but its like Bubonic said. It stems back to when only upper class Protestant white men where allowed in most colleges. So can you get a scholarship for being white, maybe not. For being rich and white with a trail of predecessors who went to that college, YES. Show me an instance where a legacy app was not white and I will consider anything you're saying to be somewhat legitimate.

You don't realize what affirmative action does. It takes demographic percentages and makes sure that colleges and certain jobs are represented by at least that amount, to get government money. The US is at least 80% White. What the hell are you worried about? Statistically you have nothing to be worried about, same thing with jobs. There's an 80+ percent chance this will not affect you in any way shape or form. The only people who should be paranoid about this are other minorities. Why, because not only do they have to have the skills to compete to graduate or stay at a job, they may be walking into a campus or job that only hires by affirmative action minimums. They as a female or minority (Hispanic/Black/Asian/Gay/Mixed/Immigrant/) would have a FAR less than 80+% chance of getting accepted.

I know this may be hard for you because you've been caught using sterotypes before when talking about Black people. But STOP!!! Seriously, its annoying and it makes you look stupid. STOP thinking of Black people as one homogeneous group. Not all black people do the same thing, not all black people are a walking stereotype. I've noticed that when you post your black v white posts, you refer to black people as one group, but white people get a break up "some white people this," or "not all white people that." Why is that?

Who do you think was singing gospel before black people where allowed to even worship, let alone gather in large groups, or be allowed to build churches. There are Baptists, Lutheran, and Methodist churches where there are very few if any black people in towns or major cities. Who's singing in gospel choirs in the American northwest where there aren't massive numbers of black people?

I have yet to see environment make more of an impact on a person than HISTORY of that environment. So, a few black people doing things they want to do to break out of a bunch of box thinking, and racists attitudes making laws, inventions, owning companies, going to war, and doing jobs that make everyone's lives better and easier, "means nothing," to you. What do you do with enormous amounts of Black people who have no rhythm, can't sing a note, have naturally long hair (oops, did you forget that stereotype. Well, your welcome I remembered it for you.), have small or average sized genitals, have small flat behinds, become engineers or teachers, speak several different languages, become stable families, don't have any family members in jail, score genius levels in standard tests, are atheists, don't have diabetes, aren't from Africa or American or the Caribbean, run for public office, have a full grasp and commanding grasp of English, read often, pay taxes, don't own guns, where jewelry that doesn't have any name on it, only where one or two pieces of jewelry at a time, are not suffering from heart disease, have breast cancer, enjoy school, are not athletes and do not like the idea of running anywhere or chasing balls, are short, skinny, hate watermelon, are republicans or conservative, don't give a rat's behind about being cool in any way shape or form, behind the cameras in the entertainment industry and are not named Spike Lee or John Singleton, the ONE black model in the Prada show during Fashion this year and there hasn't been once since the late 80's early 90's...and so forth and so on.

Since we both brought it up: Its a big thing in the fashion industry for casting directors to say "no ethnic models" when hiring all over the world. Well organizers finally heard the outcry in Spain, and they have put a cap on it. That's right Spanish designers have to abide by affirmative actions to appear in certain shows. Any thoughts on that?

You know, you have to be the first white person I had to explain this to. Black people are not one group of single minded people. There's no Borg queen that dishes out orders, there's no meetings to decide which fad to promote. I've run into some pretty narrow-minded black people who get frustrated with me because I refuse to be a stereotype and I enjoy thinking for myself, oh and I have a bit of an accent that isn't american. Then I have to go into the spiel about Black people are not fenced in one or two places in the world or the US, blah blah blah.

One last thing, the American (mostly black) all Professional Basketball team (worth Millions of dollars) lost against predominantly white European teams in the 04 Olympics. I think Greece took the gold. Are we to hear Greek stereotypes from you now?
