First Avenger Who Is Composing?

When are samples going to be available?! It's about that time too! A little less than a month before the movie comes out!

A Silvestri score is one of the best things this movie has going for it. He's an old school composer cut from the same material as a Williams or Elfman. He has proved he can handle a heroic score, so I have confidence in how the movie will sounds. And that's a big deal in a movie for me personally.

I agree Silvestri is a great composer. He's one of the greats. And he has proven many times that he can write a heroic score. It's just that he's been having some misses lately. He's been writing pretty average stuff after Van Helsing, imo. So I hope he knocks the Cap. score out of the park.

Joe Johnston said he hopes people leave the theater humming the Captain America theme in an interview.

I may be looking too far into it, but either the USO song is that catchy, or the talents of Silvestri triumphed again!

Someone in another thread mentioned the USO song.

He's the star spangled man with the star spangled plan. He's Captain AM ER RICA!

Or something like it. Sounds catchy as **** already and it's only 2 lines!

Ok, this radio show sounds awesome in general - wish I'd heard of it sooner. I'm going to be out tonight, though, so do we know if it's ONLY going to be available live, or will we be able to listen to it later?

Anybody listening to this? Show is on now and they just mentioned Silvestri's music will be on in a few minutes.

The man on the radio said we'll like it too.

Where would you rank what you've heard compared to the better superhero scores RIM?

The host just said it'll be archived by tomorrow.

Different from Djawadi's one on Iron Man, but really gets into the WWII atmosphere with lots of tracks.

Oh my...that opening brass...Daaaamn!

These tracks are sounding fantastic, like taking the best parts of Predator, Judge Dredd and Van Helsing especially with the brass and percussion. Bombastic indeed!

WOW!

Alan Silvestri, you've created an amazing score! I knew you had it in yah! IT SOUNDS WILLIAMSesk!

As good as Djawadi's Iron Man OST and better than Doyle's score on Thor.

OST Release date July 19th

I liked that opening piece. It did remind me of Williams Superman score a little.

Think this is the best score for a Marvel Studios film.

Definitely did hear the Judge Dredd elements, but also Blown Away.

Sounds better than the first Iron Man score on first impression in my opinion. And there's a definitive theme here!

A cool WWIIish theme at that.
