Who Is The New DAREDEVIL?

Hawkeye - Why? I know it's gonna end up beinh Hawkeye (I just know it) but why? Why would Clint Barton do it? Why would he just not be Hawkeye again?

because it's nice to help out a friend? because maybe he's a little pissed off over what happened during his death and re-death in house of m, and he doesn't want to be noticed right now, because he's planning something HUGE in the next few issues of civil war?

makes sense, we'll just have to find that interdiminsional doorway and smash it to pieces.

My thought for the new DD, is Moon Knight, he has similar abilities, he's still unacounted for thus far in CW, has that ass kicker tendancy like DD, plus the two of them have had several crossovers in the MK books.

From the cut of his tone and talk in Civil War he sounds like Nick Fury or Hawkeye.

I mean, considering most of the people in that room know exactly who Daredevil really is, it's interesting that they didn't really acknowledge the fact that he was a completely different man?
yeah, on that subject, do any of the heroes know who's under that mask? Because, if they didn't, don't you think someone(especially one of the pro-registration heroes) would say, "Hey, aren't you supposed to be in prison?" ?

Well, everybody knows Murdock is Daredevil. He was outed. But incase somebody didn't believe that whole thing to be true, Luke Cage knew. As did Spidey. Maybe they know who this guy is and they're actually in on it. Best way to explain the lack of shock when DD shows up and he's supposed to be in jail.

okay, here's the deal. it can't be bullseye, spider-man or punisher, as they're all accounted for elsewhere. so...here's the list of suspects:

1. hawkeye - most likely, in my opinion. remember, it's been said that clint barton will be making a return in civil war, not hawkeye. seems plausible to me that he'd return as daredevil.

2. nick fury - he's currently off the grid, so to speak. it also seems plausible that he'd take up the daredevil mantle both to keep tabs on the heroes, and to intigrate himself in the war, without being noticed as nick fury.

3. iron fist - i'm not sure where he's at, currently, but i don't think it's him. remember when ronin's identity was up for debate? luke cage dismissed ronin as being iron fist, due to the fact, that well...he'd just know.

4. taskmaster - i guess he could pull but off, but what would be the point, really? it's not like he's a major player in the marvel universe. cool character, but not important enough. and having foggy pay him off to pose as daredevil seems silly to me.

those are the four guys that, as to my knowledge, are not accounted for in civil war. thoughts?

Thats probably true. Luke probably would know. But like it was mentioned above, nobody was shocked at DD being there despite him being in prison. None of the characters who know DD's identity questioned or acknowledged the imposter. Iron fist wasnt seen at that meeting, and Luke Cage never said that the new DD wasnt Danny.
Danny is friends with DD and i could see him doin it to help Mat out. Also he's got both the appearance and the skills to pull it off.

Nick Fury is too old, too scruffy and doesnt have the fighting skills to pull off an imitation of DD's style. Although he is extremely familiar with Hell's kitchen (he grew up there)

Taskmaster would do it but it would have to be for REALLY big bucks. I doubt Foggy'd have that kinda coin and i doubt the people who do have the coin would have enough of an interest.

I could see Hawkeye doing it I guess. His personality fits the way the new DD is behaving enough and I suppose he COULD have the skills to pull it off but It doesnt really seem right to me.
My guess is Danny.

I bought the three issues today. I'm gonna read them then re weigh in on the issue.,

Wizard #176 does say that Iron Fist will 'make a surprise appearance in Civil War.

Hardly conclusive proof, I know, but -

I'm backing either him or Taskmaster.

when I saw DD flipping the coin in CW the only person who came to mind is Bullseye

He's in jail with Matt.

are we sure that is Bullseye in jail????
:) True. But the way I see it, and others have already pointed this out, at the meeting, anyone who knew Matt was Daredevil knew he was in Jail. So the guy in the Daredevil costume at the meeting must have been someone else. Luke or Spidey would have immediately questioned the new Daredevil's identity, if they didn't already know and trust who it was. So I would imagine therefore its a hero or at least someone trustworthy - not like Bullseye

Danny Rand was at Foggy's Funeral.

Daredevil was not.

Iron Fist or the doppelganger from the 90s that helped Matt prove he "wasn't Daredevil" to the world.

some interesting thoughts here peeps...

I'm leaning more towards Hawkeye (who, granted, would require some extensive training to reach the level of Matt Murdock's athletic ability) or Taskmaster (who is quite feasible, given that he'll do almost anything for the right price)

Clint is a trained acrobat. It is in the OHOTMU stuff. Therefore he can do the stuff that Matt can do. While Clint was married to Bobbi, he also would more than likely have played with her battle staves as well so he can use the Billy Club in that fashion.

Mysterio?

Hawkeye has become other heros before. He was Goliath for a while

Shudder in pain.

Hawkeye is cool and people love him, hes a dynamic character. They'll definitely bring him back eventually but lets get to the point. Who's Daredevil you ask?

Well let's look at it logically, fury would be a good choice. Moon Knight has his own series now (how awesome! i've been a moon knight fan since i heard of him 5 years ago) so they dont want to overuse him. Besides Marc gains nothing by doing it. Someone could be contracting Taskmaster to be him but thats a problem because im not sure who would care enough. Iron fist has been underground a while, he'd be pretty cool, but you know its going to be someone from the silver age, some stupid forgotten character like The Hidden Man, or The Terrible Tinkerer (oh golly gee! i think i wet myself) Marvel never fails to suprise us. They'll see people saying "It's gunna be him" and they'll say "heck no, lets mess with their minds and make it someone no one would NEVER guess" so good luck but i think its an unsolvable puzzle like What happened to Cyclops' left eye during AoA? But good luck for the ambitious fanboys who persist anyways
