This was not the Rhino , this was just plain stupid

I thought the opening sequence of that film was outstanding, and Giamatti would have been a great fit if he hadn't been Rhino. That's one of my pet peeves with CBMs is when a plot device/stock character is given the name of historic comic book creation (Gwen Stacy in SM3, Mandarin, Rhino, Bane in B&R) instead of the actual character being done. Studios/directors should commit fully to an adaptation or do something new, but never rely on cheap tricks.

I remember reading somewhere that Tom's current contract was a 4 picture deal, I'm pretty sure it was a trade who said it too. Marvel probably wanted to keep it minimal for now, see how things go...

So I'd imagine that it looks a little something like this:

- Captain America: Civil War
- Spider-Man (2017)
- Avengers: Infinity War PT 1
- Avengers: Infinity War PT 2

Obviously after the second IW, they'll extend his contact for more solo Spidey and Avengers/MCU crossover films.

That's like the shortest MCU contract ever. Marvel signed both Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth for a 6 picture contract, and they signed Sebastion Stan for 9. Seems kinda weird that they'd only sign Tom for 4, especially considering that he's playing their Flagship character. I always imagined that his contract looked something like this:

- Captain America: Civil War
- Spider-Man (2017)
- Avengers: Infinity War PT 1
- Spider-Man 2 (2019)
- Avengers: Infinity War PT 2
- Spider-Man 3 (2021)

Since the solos are on Sony's end, maybe he has a separate contract there. Then on Marvel's end it'd be CW, Infinity War pt. 1&2 and whatever comes after that, New Avengers maybe?

Yeah, good point.

Marvel Contract:
- Captain America: Civil War
- Avengers: Infinity War PT 1
- Avengers: Infinity War PT 2
- The New Avengers

Sony Contract:
- Spider-Man (2017)
- Spider-Man 2 (2019)
- Spider-Man 3 (2021)

I'm betting Mysterio, Vulture and Kraven will be the first villains we get to see in this new series.

Yeah, these are my bets as well. They are setting up a new S6 for the future.

those are the three i'd like to see as well in the HS trilogy. You could tell a different story with each one of them because they're each different types of villains and threats which wouldn't be a retread of the other films.

If we did mysterio how about this look:

sorry for sideways image

I think there should be projectione and images in his bowl to scare people, if he has the bowl.

Ya we can keep some classic stuff and then play off his illusions and what not.

Random thought: the bowl should not be a visible standard part of his costume. Mysterio should have some other, much more intimidating and supernatural, look. However, if you manage to see past or shut down his illusions, *that* reveals a costume that includes the fish bowl helmet. Its part of the illusion mechanism, not a deliberate fashion choice.

^ I remember thinking that was Chameleon.

According to TASM2 Mysterio would probably have some kind of mask.

I assumed he was going to have a mask within his glass helmet, something similar to the Magic Mirror. Which I would have been 100% in favor for.

Nothing tied into Oscorp this time, I know that much.

A double team from Chameleon and Kraven would be neat to see. Chameleon himself having ties to HYDRA, giving it more of that MCU connection, and then having Kraven surpass him as the main villain of the movie.

I don't mind having some connection to Oscorp. Obviously Norman will be. And having Otto or some other scientist working at Oscorp would work. It cuts down on the contrivances.

What I'm fearful of is now with the MCU connection, every villain is going to be tied to HYDRA or some other entity. That's not better than having every villain come from Oscorp.

They need variety.
