Homecoming Who should be the Villain in Spider-Man (2017)? - Part 4

Well, for all the flack TASM series got, it kept its villains alive (which they thankfully learned from the Raimi trilogy). Marvel Studios, on the otherhand, doesn't seem to understand the importance of keeping their villains around (minus Loki).

Here's hoping Pascal makes it clear to Feige and co that any villain being used in Spider-Man is to be kept alive.
Hey, they kept Zemo around and Red Skull (they didn't really kill him off, it seems). I'm just saying it'd be an indicator IF Sinister Six is at all in Marvel's plans for Spider-Man.

Hopefully Marvel's penchant for killing villains off ended with AOU. The last thing we need is more dead Spidey rogues.

Why not make an R-Rated Spider-Man movie with Venom?

I still say it would be cool if we got someone small for the first movie (cough cough Spot cough cough)

To each is own; the Spot is too goofy to me. He's like the Condiment-King in Batman:TAS!

I just hope we get a villan that hasn't been done yet. I wouldn't mind seeing the Lizard if he actually looked like 'The Lizard'.

Yeah.....Spider-Man and R-Rating quite don't go, taking in count most of the demographic is kids and teenagers.
I mean i would be up for it, even as much as i'm not that much of a Venom fan, i wouldn't be against, but it seems very, and i mean VERY much not possible that a Spider-Man movie is rated R, the closest i see at it is if they go ''The Killing Joke route'' making it animated DVD movie.

Because they don't want to kill the franchise. Alienating children from their target audience would be a huge mistake, and Disney are never going to do that with Spider-Man.

Can't argue with that, i personally would like to see the Spot, he could bring something we having quite seen in a Spidey movie (unless you count Electro) with the teleporting, he is enough of a treat to go through a movie, and if you play it well you can a have a bit of comedy with him, taking in count that he in nature is a goofy villain.
I wouldn't mind seeing Lizard again, although probably as a smaller villain.

I want to see Lizard again done right. Just design for Lizard ruined ASM quality for it. And Connors storyline was so butchered in that movie you didnt really care for him.

Like others said, Spidey is the number one hero with kids, so that ain't happening. And Venom as an antagonist doesn't really entail anything too dark for PG-13. Now, and Agent Venom spinoff, that's where they should push the envelope.

There weren't any Spider-Man stories I felt were ever R rated. Hard PG-13 at the most.

Yeah, the only thing that's somehow related to Spider-man I can see being R-rated is the Venom movie. Which would actually be the only way the people that want Carnage in a movie so much will get one that's not toned down.

I really think you should add Jensen Ackles as Eddie Brock in your signature. :woot:

I do think, though, that IW is the best way to organically introduce the symboite!

I feel that with a clean slate and a young Peter Parker they have a serious chance to properly go after a Sinister 6 storyline.

SM1: Mysterio and Vulture
SM2: Kraven and the Rhino
SM3: Doc Ock and Sandman
SM4: Fighting the Sinister 6, getting his arse whooped. Introduce symbiotie, defeats the 6. Venom cliffhanger.
SM5: Venom

Normally, I wouldn't put anything past 3 movies. However, Sony is going to continue making Spider-Man movies. Now that he's in the MCU they won't leave that path/universe until Tom is done with the character. They have a chance here to go on a long stretch.

I would even have Norman Osborn in the background of all these movies. A puppeteer.

Spider-Man: Reign. Spidey's version of The Dark Knight Returns.

Speaking of that, what do you think of Spider-Man: Reign?

I personally strongly dislike it for several reasons. In my opinion, the art is hideous, as far as I remember. I also felt that it was more a The Dark Knight Returns rip off rather than an actual Spider-Man story. Sure, it might be meant to be a homeage to The Dark Knight Returns, but it's in my opinion not a good one at that. There are dark and twisted details that feel dark in a forced way, like "look how dark this is!", rather than being a dark story in an intelligent way like the brilliant Kraven's Last Hunt.

Because that would be a terrible idea on every imaginable level? "Hey, we've got the most popular superhero on the planet with everybody, whose a generally upbeat and idealistic hero who quips and angsts and has teen drama. What should we do? I know! We make it R-rated, so no teens and no kids can see it!"
