Homecoming Who should be the Villain in Spider-Man (2017)? - Part 4

I wonder how the board going to be once we do have villain revealed. Even if we don't have actor.

Of course it be an iconic guy. There is still plently past films haven't done. It's not like they are going to go and do a film where say white rabbit or hypno hustler are the big bad. We still got kraven, chameleon, shocker, vulture, mysterio, and other big guns to play with.

In a perfect world we'd be getting Doc Ock again. :/

Of course the villain for the first film should be Green Goblin by that I mean Norman Osborn...similar to the Raimi series you start off with Norman Osborn of Oscorp becoming the Green Goblin and then you build it from there on

I wouldn't mind, although we already had a Goblin two years ago, another one 9 years ago and the first one 14 years ago, in the span of 14 years we had 3 Goblins yet we haven't had Mysterio, or Kraven, or Vulture, or the Spot.

I honestly think they could do the trilogy without reusing any villains. The guys we have left are still pretty iconic, and could be pretty compelling on their own, both with their designs and action sequences and their actual storylines.

Doc Ock could use a new makeover, and I'd be super hyped if it turned out he was the villain for the sequel, but if he doesn't, I think we can get by. 'Sides, Spider-Man stories are more about Peter than they are about his villains. The important thing is getting him right, and giving him an obstacle to overcome.

Make it similar to Raimi's in the sense of Harry wanting revenge for his father Norman's death but with Harry taking the mantle as the new Green Goblin but the main difference is when he finds out that Peter and Spider-Man are one in the same he and Peter/Spider-Man do fight it out to the death but just when Spider Man is about to kill Harry he stops himself and Harry of course tries to take advantage but Spider Man in self defense kills Harry

I don't want Spider-Man to have to kill Harry. Not even in self defence. Harry should not die as bad guy.

Or instead of The Green Goblin being used in the first film you can bring him in in the sequel but for the first film the villain they could use either Kraven The Hunter or Venom

Venom doesn't really hold up for a first entry villain, and since certain s****y company riming with ''Rony'' is using him for a movie, i doubt he appears.
Kraven can work for a first entry, depending on how much time has the new Spidey been on the public (since he already has his origin and he has only participated on one public event like the Civil War)

Can we give the goblins a rest? It's not like the green goblin is required to tell a Spider-man story. I want to see Scorpion, Mysterio, Shocker and maybe Chameleon.

The Goblins or at least the one that wears green yet in the movies lacks purple definetly need a rest. I have to agree with Slang.
We need to see more villains like Mysterio, like Shocker, like Kraven, like Chameleon (like the Spot even if everyone disagrees)

Or instead I would set it up in a trilogy but how I would do it:

- 1st film (villain)- Kraven
- 2nd film (villain)- Mysterio
- 3rd film (villains)- Shocker, Green Goblin

I would go with John Malkovich as Vulture and or Gary Oldman as The Jackal

i am sure in time ie by 3rd film we see a new ock and/goblin. I cant see marvel not doing those guys at some point. But really we dont need to jump right to either of them for first film. Since we know that we will see a villain we havent yet there is still pnelty of solid choices to play with for at least 2 films then go with ock/goblin for 3rd film. Plus like i said in other threads we cant look at this as 3 films and we are done now with marvel here. We could see spidey or any of his rouges pop up in other films ie the avengers films or in some one elses solo film to some one appearing on netflix or shield at some point.

I think we could get more of a Scarecrow-type villain in the first film like in Batman Begins, with the focus more on Peter's life as Spider-Man in general, and his life at school. Feige said that it wouldn't just be the villains who are the cause of all his problems this time round but things in his own personal life (which sounds like it could be school).

So two of the antagonists could be Flash Thompson and maybe (hopefully) a teacher who always gets on his case for being late or absent from class, throwing him in detention when he needs to be out saving someone.

I think it would be great if we had someone like Alan Ruck (a Jon Hughes veteran) as a *****ebag science teacher who has it in for Peter because Peter showed him up and was a bit arrogant and made the teacher look bad through his motor mouth quipping.

i could see alan as miles warren/the jackal or he could work well as a teacher/princple at midtown that for what ever reason is a thorn in peter side.

for me i rather see ock/norman as minor characters building up there turns to evil over a few films ie solo 1 and 2. Then we see either of them become a big threat and there powers by 3rd film. Or post infinity wars avengers films ie for norman if we do the whole seige/hammer type plotline for norman.

I would go with John Malkovich as Vulture and or Gary Oldman as The Jackal

I want Vulture to make it into a movie one day. Most importantly they've got to make a Kraven's Last Hunt movie.

Scorpion would be interesting also as his origin was as an anti-Spider-Man bought by JJJ kind of deal. I'd be happy with Derek Mears playing Gargan. Just sick of conspiracies and government organizations butting into Spider-Man stuff.

Ya I said in past I would love to see guys like norman, ock, even eddie brock (pre stupid sony idea for a non tied venom film let's hopefully never get off the ground). To be more minor background players. Over a film or two so we can see there fall from grace and and there turn to there powered personas over time. Then it just being one film and done.
