Who should draw the opening credits?

I wanna see that Spider-Man painting in Sam Raimi's room.
I think we'll be expecting something similar what we saw in the teaser...except the same credit fonts or something...

We know they are going to duplicate what they did in the second movie as it was very popular but given what Ross....has uhm....said about the movies I doubt Sony will be inviting him back.....so who then?

I thought given the second movie is a Pete/MJ love story with Doc Ock and is Spider-Man: No More, it would BE GREAT if John Romita Sr. did it. But that may be way too geeky to even consider.

So who would you like to see reanimate the second film at the beginning of the third?
why not let the cast draw thier characters[if they can] and see THIER takes on thier alter egos?

he should do it, same last name. :woot: :woot:

I don't think it's necessary to show drawings again... it's like copying #2... they should do something new...

It's not called copying SPIDER-MAN 2, it's called CONTINUITY.

Did the X-men films copy off of themselves when they opened with the door to cerebro.

I think they should just use a range of old drawing and new from the spidey comics.
Mostly from Steve Ditko, I think itd be a nice reminiscence and I thinks comic book fans would love it

Yeah....but comic book fans make up about 2% of the audience. I think they want it to be coherent for new fans.

And for the record is it "ripping off" or "copying" when James Bond opens with a gun barrell and later a pre-title sequence with naked women dancing/fighting/being sexy or for Star Wars to open with a long scroll of the title, episode number and synopsis for the movie against a space background or the big blue #D-ish opening to the exact same damn theme and tempo in ALL the Superman movies as we dart through space?

No, it is claled a centerpiece for the franchise and lets let this be Spidey's if we are looking for more movies in the future then.

thats true i agree.

Ok, so i don't agree that they will even do this with the next movie, but if they do. Suggestions for artists.

I CAN ONLY THINK OF TWO.

1. Alex Grey.
2. H.R.Giger.

Out of any artist those are my favorites, and it is about 1% chance of them doing it. But if they tried and wanted to i bet one of those or both of those could make all of our eyeballs explode.

They should keep it simple AND stylish, meaning that they should bring back the guy who did the drawings from spidey 2 to make drawings for spidey 3, that tells the story of what happened in spidey 2, just like spidey 2's opening credits told the story from spidey 1. that's the best way to go! It's those type of things that makes you remember the style of the spidey movie's. they shouldn't change this for each movie.

They can do whatever they want fr the titles, but I want two things:

- The same Spider-Man theme, but remixed a little bit by the new composer.
- During every frame of the opening credits, it should fade to black or 'darkness'.

True, but the opening credits of #1 and #2 were different... so they could show us something different again in the third film... Or they could mix the opening credits of #1 and #2, like newspapers flying around in the city, it's raining... and in these newspapers they could show drawings... something like that'd be cool IMO

how about Gabriel Del'Otto? His style is awesome:spidey:

I was just about to suggest him. And it's similar enough to Ross' style that it would feel natural.

I think it bodes well for the film that the SPECULATION of who will be the new artists for a possible film opening is generating so much discussion. Spidey-3 is already becoming very hyped. =)

sm2 op creds were **** i like sm 1s thought the webs and you spot sider-man for a second then hes gone.

I agree. I mean, sure, a new opening could be cool, but this one really, really works. For me, at least. I mean, seeing Alex Ross renditions of scenes from the first movie was such a thrill and a really great way to recap what happened in the previous movie for those who, you know, didn't watch the first movie twenty times that day in preparation for the release of Spider-Man 2 (like I did).
If it works, why not keep it? Pity we can't keep Alex Ross, though. :csad:

When the spidey web comes down in the begining of the opening credits in spider-man 2, it was different... it has this really cool vibe sound that wasn't in spidey 1, it's cool.
In spidey 1 the colors where blue weren't they... and in spidey 2 they are red... I think that it's in order that the colors in spidey 3's opening is DARK/black... or maybe not to begin with but then let it turn dark along the way:)

While both of these artists are talented I don't think a guy who does psychedelic art and the guy who designed the "Alien" would be right for a Spidey film. They should get a comic artist to do it. I'm a fan of Leinil Yu's art although he does primarily do X-men.
