Homecoming Who should reboot villain be? (Poll Version) - Part 1

Tht sounds more like the Sinister Six than the Masters of Evil. The Masters of Evil is large threats. Like Abomination, Baron Zemo, Enchantress, Skurge, Red Skull, etc.

There are many versions of Masters Of Evil to choose from. Not only what I posted.

:woot:

Ya we have to have normal crime going on and stopped besides powered freaks.

My gut instinct would be to choose a character not yet used, but the best villains to introduce simultaneously with Spiderman have definitely already been done (Goblin, Lizard, Electro, and Doc Ock). Scorpion I guess.

We do have normal crime. Infact I wanna see an entire prison sequence where Spider-Man just goes out and cuts loose and takes out everyone. I mean, he's Spider-Man. Dude could take on the entire police force if he wanted. Infact I think he did in one comic.

Spidey's powers and skills in contrast to regular criminals is in my opinion something that we should be reminded of at times in the films, but also that those kind of crimes occur in New York and that Spidey's "job" is to take those down as well. If all Spidey does is face super powered foes we kind of lose that "street" aspect of Spider-Man. I think some variety is welcome.

That's why I don't think "one minute showdowns" should be for the likes of Rhino, Beetle etc. because Spidey will already have several time of super battles against the likes of Mysterio, Vulture, Green Goblin etc.

I think Raimi's first Spider-Man did this quite well with the clips of him beating down those rapists, robbers etc.

Agreed, also what if they created more original villains in the film franchise?

Would be cool to see spidey take out kingpin while he was in prison like the comics pre omd.

What's the consensus on Kraven?
Needs to happen. Personally, I think he's the perfect fit for a movie featuring the Symbiote Arc.

There's really no point when so many minor villains are still wanted to be seen on screen.

Call me crazy I'd love to see a story where Spidey is under attack by new villains and only at the end discovers Kingpin is behind his troubles. Heck they could even still cast Donofrio for it - brilliant piece of casting. I like Chameleon, Kraven, and Mysterio - they're fun to watch - but I'm not sure they'd track well on screen without a makeover. Certainly if a dude with a fishbowl head showed up on screen the audience shaking wouldn't be from fear.

He could be made to look and sound mysterious and creepy

Just please Marvel, dont give us anymore Mandarins.

Ya there is ways they can update mysterio looks. But be nice to have some nod to classic look.

This needs to happen:

I think Mysterio could mess with DD even more if he knew how DD worked, but for his first encounter it's funny.
Obviously more of a joke than seriousness.

Would Mysterio be a bit too whacky for a first time out with Spidey? Kraven/Toomstone etc... would be a bit more grounded. Just hope, whoever they choose, they make him scary.

They dont have to make him whacky and cartoony like Sony did with rhino. He can just as easily be creepy, mysterious menacing.. its just a matter of taking him seriously

Not sure if a guy in his lion pajamas isn't just as whacky :oldrazz:
It's all about how you deliver it and what is your take on him.

Ya whacky stuff can easily be toned down and also helps on direction characters go.

I personally thought Rhino was done fairly well... for the 10 seconds we saw of him. He wasn't entirely stupid or crazy, and was a real threat, yet still was funny. That is... if you are reffering to in TASM.
I think cartoony is good, as long as it is done well. Heck, we wouldn't want a non cartoony spider-man would we? He wouldn't be as funny!
It's fine for them to be funny, and slightly unrealistic. I mean, IRL people would never waste breath to throw a few funny lines when fighting super-villains. But spidey is given a certain self confidence that allows him to do this in a slightly realistic way. Same can be done with villains.

And yes... I want a fishbowl. :lmao:

Really? He was the worst part of the movie for me. I didnt think he was very funny at all, just cringeworthy and very much aimed at children.. not to mention Paul Giamatti was literally the worst actor they could have picked for the role (not saying he's a bad actor). I definitely wouldnt want the villains to be treated in a laughable way. Id prefer if we could take them as a serious threat and not as a middle aged guy screaming like an idiot. Spider-man can handle the humor all on his own

Not all of spidey rouges need to be so serious and a major threat. He has plenty of low key and silly guys.

Yeah I just dont want to see another rhino/electro fiasco (which I have high hopes wont happen again since Feige didnt like Pauls cartoony take either). I really hate that they were literally cartoons brought to life (even moreso than some of the actual cartoons)
