Who Watches the Critics? The Critic Response Thread

man...im really anticipating the movie...i dont wanna be let down
but some of these slo mos...line changes...ending changes and cut scenes (hollis mason death...although its in the DC) depress me and make me nervous...

Indeed, it scares me to be honest.

The line's in the movie, but it got moved for thematic reasons. Sally says it to Dan before we see Rorschach's journal.

In the movie or not, it still doesn't have the same meaning or impact that it did in the book. That's all that matters. Now it'll just seem kinda "there" to bookend the movie, instead of being the only strike against Veidt for what he did, and to kinda summarize the consequences of what's happened.

Dan beats up Veidt.

*sigh* Well, the general audience'll like it, but, still, a guy who could stop a bullet getting his ass kicked by an overweight has-been isn't as strong as telling him that his "plan" to unite the world won't be as great as he suggests. To me, at least.

Veidt lets him do it, its meant to set up the standard superhero ending before the character realizes its utterly pointless.

and rorschach shoots death lasers from his eyes

No, thats the super special awesome ending. The normal ending, he just finds his long lost Girlfriend in antartica, and they steal the Owl Ship and have babies together.

Dan and Laurie get stuck in the snow. :csad:

Hurm... Well, now that you put it that way, it won't be so bad. Does it happen before or after Veidt tells them what he did?

^After Roarshach dies. Dan freaks out and pummels Veidt; that's why he was screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!111!!!!" in the trailers.

edit: Aagh, I got beat.

LMFAO ahhh I laughed so hard when I read that:grin::grin:

After.

After Rorschach's death, Dan freaks out and goes back wanting to kill Veidt in a fit of rage, because thats the 'Heroic' fit to do before he realizes...it doesn't solve anything. I haven't seen it and I'm going off reviews, but it actually sounds like an interesting addition.

have you heard about that blooper where dr M
climaxes in laurie
and splits her body in half

I loved the after the credits scene where we see Dr. M currently residing in Las Vegas. Being a big blue pimp.

You know, the anticipation is weird. When I think about some things, like the acting or the few neat additions, I feel excited, then I'll think about the poorly done fight scenes and the fact the theatrical version sounds like someone let William S. Burroughs near the film with a pair of scissors and...meh.

Should be an interesting film either way, though.

ah good to get some laughs in here with all the negativity lately..

yeah wtf, people still dont realize how hard it must be to adapt this, as long as its a close adaptation and the visuals are outstanding i am going to be entertained and satisfied. Sure i would like a dark knight quality comic book film, but im going into this knowing that no matter what, the original medium will always be better.
