Who Will be President in 2008?

You know, for a Dem, he really does have some cross party appeal...but I still have to go with McCain...

1) McCain's own party will destroy him.
2) McCain is full of ****, accomplishes nothing, and talks tough. He is the biggest political coward in the senate.

It's true. Just look at how he sucks up to Bush after he got raped by him in 2000.

Hilary Clinton can't win and we need someone who can win. (see above post)

Joe Biden. Democrat.
Probably not, at least he'll have a tough time with attack ads over that "plagerized" speech.

Mark Warner of Virginia is currently the most electable candidate.
Yeah probably...he seems like another Jimmy Carter waiting to happen

The Republicans are already lined up to back him, they know going with McCain or Rudy Giuliani is the only way to win...i mean who else would they back? Bill "a taller version of Al Gore with an MD" Frist? Rick "Crazyman" Santorum?

As for accomplishments and cowardice, maybe more would get done if the parties stopped B**ching and learned to compromise...look at the things McCain and Obama are trying to do...they just get blocked. As for "nothing" what do you call the biggest overhaul in campiagn finance law in 3o years?? I'd call it something.

As for making nice wiht Bush after 2000...well you can't expect to win ANY office if oyu burn all your bridges, campaigns are bloodsport, but when it's over and done you need to be man enough to get along with the guy/gal that beat you.

And kiss ass.

I'm not convinced about either McCain or Giuliani's abilities to run government at a federal level like this.

The campagin finance reform has proven ineffective and useless.

And don't give me that bull**** that "Partisan is the reason nothing gets done!" McCain has a talent for gathering moderate coalitions like no other. He has bipartisan support. Furthermore, he has massive public support. He could accomplish practically anything...and yet he doesn't? Why? Because his party has him so ***** whipped that they just dangle the 2008 presidency over his head and he falls back in line like the obidient doggy that he is. They did the same thing when he planned to run in 2000. Yet he is falling for it again. He is a niave, lap dog.

George Allen will win the 2008 Republican primary.

Giuliani won't run, and I'm not even convinced McCain will run due to his age.

And the Republican party likely would not support any of them. They are not counting on their candidate (likely George Allen)...they are counting on the Democrat's lack of one.`

Both candidates...and I would argue Mark Warner...are just not cuthroat enough to run at a high level public office like this. They are all nice guys, eager to please types...sorry that doesn't work if you want to win the Presidency.

al gore should run.
Pfft...he won't...but he was a heck of a lot better at campaigning than these guys are gonna be...bunch of weak candidates this time around.

kerry was pretty boring, but he should've won considering he was running against bush.

I was actually hoping for a tie...so that it went to a steel cage death match in which neither survived...then we could run some decent candidates (which, by the way, I believe we haven't had since Reagan).
