Who will be Strange? - Part 3

Keanu and his "surfer dude" voice would have been laughable.

He'd be good as Silver Surfer if Marvel got the rights back for him and they made a Superhero Squad movie. :oldrazz:

He was also suggested for Benedict Cumberbatch.
When they eventually make "Cumberbatch" (the Benedict Cumberbatch biopic), Benedict Cumberbatch has to get the call. I also think he'd make a great Ryan Gosling in "Gosling" (a Ryan Gosling biopic), even more so than Ryan Gosling. Although it'd be close. Well it wouldn't really be close.

"surfer dude" voice, gimme a frikkin break :whatever:

But Silver Surfer in Superhero Squad sounds like a typical surfer dude.

Marvel need to get Doom back so he can say "I hate those squaddies!"

Love Cumberbatch, but I'd rather have Keanu Reeves as Dr. Strange, especially after just watching John Wick. Keanu would be perfect as Strange.

Sherlock Holmes, Stephen Hawking, and soon Doctor Strange. That's a pretty intellectual trio to portray .

We just need Johnny Lee Miller to join the MCU now and he, Cumberbatch and RDJ can compare notes.

I saw the news a few hours ago, didn't have time to post. I am happy with the casting and have no doubt he will do very well. Congrats to Benedict Cumberbatch

I'm a big Sherlock fan and I'm happy to see Cumberbatch cast as Dr. Strange. Now can SHH create a forum for this movie?

Awesome news about Cumberbatch. He's one of my favorite actors and I'm thrilled to see what he could do with Strange.

I never get the surfer dude quips about Keanu. He didn't act like a surfer dude in The Matrix, The Gift, Devil's Advocate, Speed, The Replacements, Something's Gotta Give... the only time he really acted like a surfer dude was when he played Ted, and it was of course entirely appropriate there. Even in Point Break (where he actually surfed) he didn't really act like a surfer dude because he was an undercover cop.

I think this is great casting. If you've seen Sherlock you know he can play pre-accident Strange and he also has the presence that makes it believable that he is the Sorcerer Supreme. Also why are people worried Strange will be British? Cumberbatch has played Americans before. I'm sure Marvel will stay true to Strange's American origins.

That's why such claims are so stupid. He hasn't done the surfer thing since 1991 (Bill & Ted 2)

But haters gonna hate, even if they have to make **** up.

preach!!!

It seems people are taking this casting too seriously (in terms of the negativity).

Because of this casting, Marvel is now "boring" and "uninspired".

I think those are the words.

Saw a girl on twitter post something about being upset at hollywood whitewashing because Cumberbatch was cast as Dr. Strange.

How could a white actor playing a white character be considered a white wash?

I like the casting. I just thought scheduling was an issue.
