Among the new actors in the MCU among the movies and Disney+ shows, which ones will be the breakout stars of Phase 5? It doesn't have to be one as it can be many. Example is Black Panther. Many thought that the breakout star of Black Panther was Letitia Wright and are waiting to see what Shuri does next in BP2. Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Liz Olsen, Sebastian Stan....all became household names because of the MCU.

Who will that be for Phase 5? My picks are Simu Liu and Teyonah Parris (all depending upon how big her role in the MCU is going to be and I think it'll be a significant one). I had seen Teyonah before in a lot of stuff and I knew who she was and I had seen Simu Liu in the Taken series, but the MCU is a big deal.

You're right. Whoever plays her and Wolverine will be the breakout stars. But don't count out whoever plays Doom as well.

I'm stoked by the possibilities of Blade, but I like bad boys...... And the circle grows......

I think Doom/FF is a real possibility to be the flagship of MCU going forward. I would LOVE see some team ups with them and "legacy" characters.

Bruh, before Disney bought out Marvel, who is the one franchise tailor made for Disney? The F4 is that's who! They scream Disney. I think they are a better fit franchise wise for Disney than the Avengers were............though the Avengers made a lot but still. Blade is a mystery to me because I'm not sure if they will make him family friendly or go rated R with it. It's still up in the air right now.

Totally agree. How to extend them for the next, say ten years???......the Avengers were tailor made for individual movies building up to the Avengers movies. The FF? Not so much. Still, there's a way to do this by bringing in other characters. Do you bring some of the FF int into other MCU movies. Johnny Storm into Spidey? Inhumans? Figuring out a Hulk/Thing team up along the lines of Ragnarok? Reed and Sue off an an adventure (Namor/BP/etc)? I would have LOVED to see the BP origin story as a FF movie, but, then, there are SO many FF stories I would love to see; like "A Blind Man Shall Lead Them" with DD, the Inhumans, etc. The list goes on, but the overarching character is one of the most iconic villains ever.....Doom....man, they've at least GOT to do a quick flashback to the KaBoom in Reed's and Doom's college days to really get Doom right. I am so all in on the FF/Doom matchup for the next generation of these movies.

BTW, glad to see LBJ is going up in your estimation. Going from toxic to a Chinese government hero is a step in the right direction. :cwink::oldrazz:

Later skater.

F LBJ! :o There I said it.
I think the way you introduce Doom and F4 is do a Doom movie with the F4 being done in the background. Doom is way to complex to be a one and done villain. Do a reverse this time and show his origin with the F4 being minor characters in the background.

Ben Grimm, done right, could be an amazing character, but they'll need great casting, great writing and great CGI.

With Ben Grimm you just need a great voice. He's probably going to be CGI so why waste a lot of money for a guy who will be on the screen for like what, 30 minutes?

if it were up to me, I wouldn’t waste a lot of money on anybody.

In Hollywood, I don’t believe salary equates to talent and going for a big name greatly reduces the pool of actors.

Most of the fan casting I see on here leaves me cold, and I think that’s because everyone is looking at the small group of well known actors.

Jon Hamm, in the first season of Madmen, would have made a great Reed, but he’s too old now. But there’s a 35 year old unknown actor out there right now who is as good or better.

This brings me back to what I've said before. The casting in Story's 1st FF was really quite good. I have no beef with Jessica on any level, but she wasn't able to pull off Sue. Michael, on the other hand, I had no problem with and his interactions with Chris were probably some of my favs. Plus, Chris had all the best lines in the 1st movie.

Anyway, I like Mike.

MC was good, but I think the right actor can take it to another level (but we also need much better writing).

The right Ben needs to be a little 'bigger' than Chiklis IMO. He needs to be louder and funnier, and the sad moments need to be masked better.

We need to know, deep down, there's a sadness to Ben, but it needs to be subtler than what we had with Chiklis (though, again, a lot of that is writing).

Given examples like Shuri in OP's post, doesn't the "breakout star" depend on the actor and direction the character will be taken and will thus be entirely impossible to predict, especially for phase 5 about which we barely know anything? This seems to be a bit like asking people to predict Letitia Wright becoming a breakout star as Shuri back in 2012.

One character I'm really looking forward to is Agatha Harkness in WandaVision. Though she is younger than Aggie's traditional age, Kathryn Hahn is a wonderful actress. And the version in Tom King's Vision series, on which the series is partially based, appeared to be closer to middle aged than an old crone.

I'd love to see Ms. Harkness stand toe to toe with Strange in Multiverse and then take on a nanny job in the FF reboot.

I agree with Willie. For the F4 and X-men, get unknowns and make them into household names. Helmsworth wasn't a known but look at him now. Same with Chris Pratt. If you will start casting both teams, start with unknowns but please, PLEASE do not get Jennifer Lopez for anything. Not even a guest appearance.

I think with the X-Men you could at least use unknowns and build them up because let’s face it, whoever they get to play them will be known as ‘Wolverine’, ‘Storm’, ‘Cyclops’ for the rest of their careers. The characters are that big.

As far as the Fantastic Four goes, just to drive home their legendary-ness, I think it would benefit them to give them starpower.
