Agreed. She has it down, perfected.

Margot! :hrt:

Don't care about MJ,hope she never comes.

Ohhhh snap! :cwink:

Before TASM, I thought that Emma Stone would have made a great Mary Jane. I still believe that she was the perfect choice, but we all know what happened with that ...

In order to cast a Mary Jane, the next movie needs an actress who will have as much personality as Emma Stone, since MJ is a woman with a BIG personality. An actress with such charisma and personality, in my opinion, is currently Jennifer Lawrence.

I like JLaw a lot, but I think she was miscast as Mystique in the X-Men movies. Don't get me wrong, I think she's been fine, but I don't think the role quite suits her. After seeing Silver Linings Playbook, I saw how much of a spitfire she can be in a role. Add that with her beauty, and BAM! I think we can have our next MJ.

Yeah, Emma Stone could have made a great MJ. She makes a fantastic Gwen Stacy, but IMO her natural energy/personality was better suited for a character like MJ.

Getting Jennifer Lawrence to play MJ would be great. She certainly has the screen presence and the personality to pull it off, and if there's any actress that is just as (if not more) popular than Emma, it's J-Law. Unfortunately, it almost certainly wouldn't happen with her being attached to the X-men and Hunger Games franchises.

Upton's an actress ain't she? ;)

Because of that snap MJ is with Peter, just because of that,be glad..

Who's the WORST possible Mary Jane that is still a real actor technically?

Kirsten Stewart comes to mind.

Also Lindsay Lohan (she's still technically an actress, even if her only work now includes reality TV and doing hilariously awful Elizabeth Taylor biopics on Lifetime).

Yup, Kirsten Stewart is definitely one of the worst choices.

...and because of Uncle Ben's death, Spider-Man is a hero...and the world is a better place. :cwink:

Lol. Just teasing. No need for a Gwen vs MJ debate. They're both lovely ladies, and I'd want both of them in any proper Spidey adaptation. :yay:

She's a knockout...but no. Listening to her interviews is like watching paint dry. Pretty paint, but paint nonetheless.

How do you know that Peter and Gwen would have stayed together if she had survived? Anything could have happened, especially if we're talking about the comics. Gwen never even knew that Peter was Spider-Man in the original comics, and Gwen held some disdain for Spider-Man after her father's death. I imagine this would have resulted in some problems because she would eventually have to know somewhere down the road had she survived.

You could be completely right though; that Peter would have never ended up with MJ if Gwen were alive. She is dead though, and that doesn't mean that Peter's love for MJ isn't real or genuine. :o

Wasn't Kristen considered?
Heeey now that she has red hair. (I kid, I kid)

Never said i wasn't genuine, the thing is if Gwen hadn't died,MJ and Peter would never be together fact,Peter even said that he would ask Gwen because she is the love of his life, if you have any doubts then read "What If Gwen Stacy had lived" you will see that she accepted who Peter is.

Anyway like jazz said lets no begin a debate because this is not the proper place and i'm not in the mood for it.

Kirsten Stewart is the objective worst option as she is the antithesis of MJ!

Emma Stone blew any comic book movie love interest completely out of the water, so I wouldn't be suprised if whoever got cast as MJ was considered worse, meaning people would like Gwen more than MJ in this adaptation and Andrew would be happy :)

Maybe Peter and Gwen would've lasted had Gerry Conway never worked on the series. The decision to kill Gwen Stacy stemmed (partially) from him wanting to pair Peter and MJ together and convincing Romita and Lee that it was the right thing to do . I think even if she wasn't killed, he would have found a way to end the relationship. Probably due to her then hatred/fear of Spider-Man.

Anyway, the would have/could have debate is silly since ultimately, Peter Parker would've ended up with nobody thanks to Joe Quesada.

:lmao:

If i recall they killed her because if she lived Peter was gonna ask her and that would have "aged" Spiderman.

Not in the mood for it? Then why did you open that can of worms? Just saying. :oldrazz:

Not dissing Gwen or anything. I think that both Gwen and MJ are vital aspects of Spider-Man's character, and both relationships have made the character much richer, in my opinion.

Joe Quesada ... :down

He's the sole reason as to why I stopped reading the Spider-Man comics a few years ago. Still breaks my heart, lemmetellya.

Yes, things heading to marriage too quickly and shallowly was one of the reasons. However, (you might not like some of this, but as a disclaimer these were his words, not mine):

http://comicbook.com/blog/2012/10/03/gerry-conway-blasts-gwen-stacy-criticizes-stan-lee-in-new-book-on-marvel/

Ironically, even though he prefers MJ and Peter's relationship, he agrees with Quesada that Peter Parker should have never gotten married.

I disagree with his stance on marriage. Things can only move in a circle for so long. Eventually, the story has to progress.

Yes she did. MJ probably won't look very good by comparison. Peter was interested in other girls before Gwen, but her tragic death solidifies her as one of Peter's greatest loves and his biggest "what if...". This film franchise has isolated the character and put her on a pedestal that never existed in the original comics. Anything that comes after is bound to fall short, which is why I am a bit on the fence with regards to them using MJ and what they might do with the character.

The best actress to play MJ is someone who wants to bring the character to life, not just play Spider-Man's redheaded love interest. I'd rather have an unknown actress excited about the role, than a rising star who simply wants to be in a summer blockbuster.
