If I was casting a male MJ I would probably cast Douglas Booth. It's so tricky though because there are so few redheaded male actors!

She's pretty cute....I could see her as MJ. I still vote Alexis as my top pick though so far.

There's some nice suggestions here but I really have a feeling she could do a good job.

Just looking at this 1 pic, Shailene looks like she'd make an awesome MJ. The thing is though, she just doesn't maintain that consistent look at every angle....she just has one of those faces that looks different from different viewpoints. In other pictures, she looks like a totally different person from this one.

But just wanted to bring up this pic because I think here at this angle she does look perfect for MJ

I just saw a pic of Shailene Woodley in Details magazine, and I'm back in her camp.

Her mixture of realness, attractiveness and above all acting ability make her a preferable MJ over the vast majority of the vamps posted here.

I hope she comes back, but that they do a better job making her than last time around. After Divergent, she should be in top physical shape I would imagine.

Right. No way does she have that bust. That is painted on.

I think if she does come back they should just have her in less makeup, despite the fact she needs make-up. Just because when she does put on make-up it never looks right for her face and sometimes scary. She seems like a natural girl, if you see her on the red carpet she prefers to wear no make-up. I think if they did her up to look like MJ it would look like this.

It's not the one picture, but I will admit I flip flop back and forth on Shailene. I was jazzed when she was cast based on having seen her in The Descendants and really liking her. Then when I saw the set pics from TASM2 I was worried to be honest, she looked possibly miscast to me. Now I've gravitated back towards wanting to see her in the role, but I do have concerns. I just want her to be a little more glammed up than what she looked like in the released pics, and I've seen many photos of her to suggest she can be a very pretty MJ for the films.

This is the pic I was referring to in Details btw (at the time the article was written, she hadn't yet been dropped from TASM2).

Whoever they get, she has to be a great actress who can deliver a performance that allows audiences to fall for her and accept Peter moving on from Gwen to her. Which is my biggest concern about many of the pretty actresses bandied around, I don't believe they have the acting chops to pull that off.

Although, I wouldn't mind seeing Anna Kendrick with Andrew Garfield either.

By the way, Andrew's 29 while Anna is 27 so I don't think age would be a problem.

Yeah I don't get what's sexist about it either. Sexism is a prejudice or discrimination based on a person's sex.....I don't see where that's happening at all here.

I think maybe some people are confusing the term "sexist" with talking about a woman's physical features. The thing is, nobody complains if we talk about a male actor having the right build, musculature, etc. to play a character. But start talking about a female actor being curvy or skinny and whether she has the right look and some people seem to think it's a crime.

Ironically, the double standard of it being ok to scrutinize guys' physical features but not girls is what could actually be considered sexist.

Idk. I like Woodley, but I was really hoping that the Gadon casting rumors were true. Especially since John Romita Sr. based MJ off of actress Ann Margret.

I think Gadon has that same sultry type of look that would work well with the character.

Id prefer Woodley over Kendrick and im not even a woodley fan, I dont want an MJ with a hairlip. Also kendrick cute, but not really attractive in any traditional sense.
