Somebody had to have mentioned here before, but I don't think I've seen her in this thread. She's tall, she's hot, and she has decent acting ability (from what I remember from Kick-Ass anyway). Definitely worth consideration!

Several people have but it doesn't hurt to bring her up again. Looks wise she's the perfect MJ. She has that MJ look straight from the pages much like Emma as Gwen.

I don't know anything about her acting though.

Fonseca's good on Nikita (playing a MUCH more kick-ass character than her role in Kick-Ass). I would support her if she were cast, but I'm guessing they'll want to go for a more established name, or a buzz-worthy star on the rise.

I believe that both of these choices are starting to become and will be established names by the time TASM3 begins filming.

Lyndsy has been in Kick Ass and will be in Kick Ass 2, and Nikita. The drawback with her is that she has nothing set for the future (but I'm sure she'll find her way into things)...

Now Alexis Knapp has had a pretty good start, with roles in Project X, Pitch Perfect, So Undercover, Vamp U and Caveman and Super Fun Night (which come out later this year). She also has a few tv roles set for next year...

Both are close to being as established as Andrew was when he snagged this role...

Just trying to move the conversation about good MJs from the Woodley thread to this one. Although I like Knapp and Fonseca, I posted there that my top pick for MJ would be Margot Robbie. Summary: good looks, good height, good age (younger than Stone), and most of all good actress (based on some of the roles that she has been landing recently). If styled correctly, I think she could fit in with the college aged students that Gwen and Peter will be when MJ is introduced.

Dye her hair red and I think she would be the spitting image of 616 Romita MJ, dimples and all.

Many of these actresses I don't know, including Robbie. Based on looks from the photos, I like the pic of Alexis Knapp posted by Super Jim the best. However, given that I don't know how she or many of the actresses proposed here are insofar as acting, I'd support Woodley keeping the role.

My wife was watching an interview between Ryan Seacrest and Selena Gomez. As I listened to her and saw her videos as they played, I couldn't help but think hmm... could she be MJ?

I know, not someone you would think of, and believe me, I still feel that Alexis Knapp is by far a better choice, but Selena has name recognition, is gorgious, model-like even, and she wants to get more into acting. The interview was being done because she just turned 21, so she's a very apporpriate age.

Dakota Fanning????? Really? She's a pretty girl and a talented actress, but just gives the wrong vibe. Same with Woodley. Let's lot loose sight of who this character is. Don't let the Raimi films fool you, she may live next door, but she's far from the "girl next door" archetype. The look is very important to this character, unlike Gwen, Betty, Liz, Harry, Peter, etc..

The actresses that I and some others chose clearly fit the part visually. I believe, Margot Robbie, specifically has the talent to act the part (cast in a Scorsese film,and will be starring in a film opposite Will Smith in which she beat out Michelle Williams, Jessica Biel, and Rose Byrne among others for the part).

I need to stop this though. Clearly, there's no pleasing everyone. I guess it speaks for how much people love MJ. I just wish Webb the best of luck if he does recast.

616 MJ and Ultimate MJ is a pointless comparison. One is a woman and the other is a girl. There is a tremendous difference. think about some of the girls you went to high school with and now are stunning women.

Those two pics are an example of the best of one and the worst of the other and thus a poor comparison.

Cheese and crackers! Where do I begin? First of all, let's not kid ourselves. Fanning is wearing makeup in the pic you posted, and in my opinion doesn't look more like MJ than the other picks. Your'e right, looks aren't everything, but CBM fellas? It's a shame that this always ends up back at that 'everyone's being sexist' bs. Blame lee and Romita for writing MJ as being a jaw-droppingly gorgeous actress/model, but don't blame us fans for trying to match that.

Btw, I don't understand why supermodel looks and talent are mutually exclusive things. Why can't we find an actress that can both look AND act like the iconic version of MJ? This is after all the "BEST MJ" thread.

And I'm the one who suggested Robbie after noticing the facial similarities between her and Romita's depiction of MJ which I posted earlier, and I still think she would be a good fit visually (although you will probably say that she isn't, so it's pointless to argue). I believe talent is there. Charisma remains to be seen. That she looks a bit more mature (even though she's 23) is a fair point, but it was just a suggestion.

I'm a HUGE MJ fan. I've read most of Stan Lee's run on Amazing and all of Conway's, etc. She's probably my favorite female supporting Comic book character from my favorite superhero franchise, and I really want to see her come to life. Dunst was all wrong. Honestly, I wouldn't mind Shailene. Just think there are better picks out there. It's clear that we have a strong difference of opinion. I'm not going to convince you, and you are not going to convince me. So let's just leave it at that. As I said, you can't please everyone.
