I agree that X-Maniac always has interesting explanations to my criticisms but, I usually never agree with them. Besides, posting my counter- rebuttals would only start another pointless argument with him. 95% of the people who post in this forum made up their minds about what they thought of X3 last year. I gave up trying to convince the people who like X3 that X3 haters have legitimate reasons for hating this film. I find it interesting that some X3 lovers are still convinced they can change my opinion simply by responding to all of my criticisms over and over again.

Eh, I'm not going to get into the whole how bad or how good the movie was. There has been enough bashing for my taste, though I should have known this thread would be a breeding ground for critics.

Of course I realize this but there is always hope that it could go back on the air. The Best Brains company said they believed this is a show that should never have gotten cancelled because there is an unlimited supply of bad movies to be reviewed. I'm shocked they never reviewed the worst film I've ever seen. It came out in 1986, casted a few porno stars, and was called Roller Blade. Here is a short scene from the film:

It's not my intention to change your mind, or to start off more long-winded point-by-point rebuttals. It was just a one-off response to your points, aimed really at those who wondered if there was a possible explanation. Sometimes, factual errors need correcting (like the plastic needles point), mostly it's to show explanations do exist.

We all know, and acknowledge, that X1 and X2 told their stories in a better way. As I said elsewhere, X3 promised us so much that it was never going to deliver it all successfully. I believe an extended edition would help immensely, though it would not be able to rectify some controversies such as Cyclops's death.

** I've now plotted my X4 and have started writing segments of it. It follows on from X3 and fixes one thing from X3. Other things may be 'fixed' in my next script if I get round to an X5.

Are you sure about this? I remember they had trouble staying on the air during season zero and the last 3 seasons for obvious reasons(Lame host characters Pearl, Bobo, and Brain Guy) but, this show was one of comedy centrals first shows and aired on that station from 1990-1996.

MST3K was cancelled in 1999. Sci-Fi showed reruns up till about 2004, but the outside of a *lost* episode, the last first-run show aired in August of 1999.

A lot of factors weighed in a MST3K over the years...sometimes they couldn't repeat episodes because they rights they got to air them the first time had since expired, so CC started running first-run episodes only, the same issues have also affected the DVD releases. One of the early VHS releases was actually pulled due to rights issues (The Amazing Colossal Man) and became a fan collectible because it was so hard to find.

There's no chance at this point of MST3K ever coming back in it's original form...but they have moved onto a lot of other projects worth following now. I believe Joel Hodgson is still writing for Jimmy Kimmel's show. Mike Nelson has written some really funny books, and he's also riffing movies on his new site Rifftrax.com with a few of the MST3K guys. Check out the samples on youtube, they're really funny. t:

I was disappointed with the MST3K movie. I didn't think the film reviewed by Mike and the robots was that funny. Also I always thought Joel was a funnier host than Mike. His commentaries were hysterical. Just listening to his voice cracked me up. On the other hand Mike did get to review some of the funniest movies on MST3K(Hobgoblins, The Final Sacrifice, The Prince of Space, Puma Man).

From from what I've heard, the first Joel vs. Mike debates on the original MST3K sites was made some of the more colorful arguments on these boards seem like nothing. It was vile enough that Joel vs. Mike threads aren't even allowed on most MST sites today.

I'm a fan of both...Joel tends to be the more reactive with his riffs, he's said that Manos: Hands of Fate was the one movie he almost couldn't watch all the way through, so his whole "what the hell???" attitude is hilarious on shows like that. Mike tends to be funnier with the comeback jokes.

The words, "horrible" and "bad" are too strong of words to describe what you may consider plot holes or inconsistencies or whatever. There are issues such as those in the previous two X-Men movies, but as this movie is obviously in your recent memory, you have no choice but to analyze details from it.

I say, if you can call things like that a function of horrible writing and bad filmmaking, then I could consider you as being a very limited movie watcher...

I know X1 and X2 have plot holes because I've watched those films many more times than X3 so your argument is bogus. X3 just happens to have too many plotholes for me to enjoy but, I think I've made it overwhelmingly obvious time and time again that plot inconsistencies aren't my sole reason for hating this film. If you don't know what those other reasons are by now then you haven't been paying attention.
