The point about never stopping is all the more powerful if his life is at risk however. Never stopping when you can't be killed doesn't take guts, it's just a natural thing to do since no-one can stop you. Going all out and never stopping take balls the size of planets if you're in a fight where you could be killed at any moment. So essentially they've taken away some of the heart the character used to have

Essentially he used to be the guy who would fight no matter what the odds of him winning were. These days however, the odds are always stacked in his favour.
I liked the idea of wolverine as an underdog who still fought to the bitter end, not an unstoppable killing machine
