The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor" - Part 1

One question here .... Characters work in pairs or have parrots on shoulders or grovelling minions so the audience can hear them voicing their thoughts aloud to someone else. Which Avenger is going to be the one who listens to Thor's thoughts and his fears about Loki?

I'd love it to be Banner or Son of Coul or Cap.

I think he might confide more in Cap since he knows what it feels like to lose a "brother" of sorts with Bucky.

So, no one has an idea of how much lightning they want to see Thor use in the film?

Well we know that he uses it against Iron Man and Captain America in his forest fight; and we've also seen him summoning lighting in the NYC battle on top of that large building as well.

Whether he'll use it against Hulk is another issue/question; and we have no idea if he uses it against some of Loki's foot soldiers.

One thing that I"m confident that we won't see Thor doing in this film is smashing the ground where it ends up caving half a city's worth of land like he did on the Frost Giants Planet.

^ I know, but I was saying how much do you all WANT to see Thor use lightning in this film not how much he actually uses it.

I prefer Thor using more long range lightning uses than doing things like the ground smash from his solo film, I'm hoping for things like large scale lightning attacks that strike multiple enemies in the NYC battle.

I want to see Thor's lightning surrounding him as it pummels the ground in a scene, so much powerful lightning that even the Hulk has a hard time getting through it to Thor.

^ Hell yeah, I posted this pic on the previous page and I LOVE when Thor seemingly powers up with huge bolts of lightning surrounding him.

That's exactly what I want to see, love how Iron Man's looking up at Thor as he conjures the lightning. Sort of like he's 'beholding' Thor's godly power.

The Hulk vs. Thor could use some imagery like this:

^ Definately, since they're playing up Hulk's strength alot more than Thor's I certainly was to see him using lightning like crazy whenever they fight

There should to be some air rippling punches that cause the ground to shake as well. I want to hear their punches clap like thunder.

Yeah I'd love for Thor and Hulk to trade power punches during their fight, I want to see Thor throw some actual punches instead of only using Mjolnir.

Most definitely! I mentioned a while back that I could picture Thor landing some hard hitting punches on Hulk with his fists as Mjolnir hangs from his wrist by the strap, then spinning the hammer into his hand as he unleashes some powerful lightning attacks on the Hulk.

I really liked how Thor was able to send Hulk flying with a punch in their battle on A:EMH, it really shows how strong someone is if they're able to send Hulk flying with a punch.

That says a lot about Thor's strength. If Iron Man's landing a punch on Thor like he did in that trailer, I'm expecting some devastating blows between the two heavy-hitters of the team.

I wonder if Hulk will use Thor's cape against him like he did in A:EMH? Seems too obvious to pass up.

If he does I would like for him to use it yank Thor out of the air and slam him into the ground, I think the cape twirl is a bit too degrading for my tastes.

It was degrading, it made Thor's aim look pretty bad too. Something like what you described is exactly what I'm picturing.

Now that I think about it, I can picture Hulk spinning Thor around by his cape as a way of mocking the way that Thor spins Mjolnir. It might be initially degrading(as it should), but of course Thor would do something equally devastating to Hulk.

That was one of my complaints about how Thor was portrayed in A:EMH, for someone who's had thousands of years worth of battle experienced he sure did miss alot and fought like a mindless brute.

Why in the hell would he miss a target as big as The Hulk, it didn't even show Hulk moving out of the way to evade the attack.

While the Hulk has more strength, Thor should be the better fighter. While the Hulk punches, crushes, kicks, claps, ect. I want to see Thor pulling off some complicated moves that show his expertise in combat.

Yeah I want to see Thor fighting in a similar manner as the Shield fight from his solo film, except with his powers being intact this time.

guys, in that spanish promo vid that was posted in CBM....
u can clearly see the lighning go through mjolnir from the scene in BigThor's avvy

^ Yeah I just saw it, I was hoping to see several lightning bolts branching off of the main lightning bolt instead of just one singular bolt.

After seeing how great all the other special effects are in the trailer, I'm pretty sure they could've done a much better job on that lightning.

Yeah, all of the other special effects have looked fantastic. The lightning looks good, but it's not much different from the lightning in Thor. It's only one scene so I won't jump to any conclusions, I just won't understand if they make his lightning look tamer than what it should be... again. :csad:

Ron Howard has tweeted a pic of Chris Hemsworth on the set of Rush. Party on Thor!

Yeah it doesn't look bad it's just not nearly as wild and dangerous looking as it should be, in a way it look's a bit "Storm-esque".

I also want to see Thor use lightning more freely as some points in the movie, like he does in A:EMH and recent comics where he doesn't have to strike a pose everytime he uses it.
