Speaking of Red Dawn...

Apparently it was originally filmed as a Chinese invasion, but they edited it to a North Korean one because A: The film would never get released in China, and B: It probably wasn't going to screen in North Korea anyways so why the hell not.

A set pic I found:

Holy crap. That's a damn huge explosion.

Also, on the subject of Hemsworth's films, he's also going to be in some film called Shadow Runner.

Made by the dude who wrote Drive! :awesome:

What I want to know is how does Thor get back to Earth? How is he suddenly able to just land on Earth no problem when he's trapped there at the end of his movie?

Guess you'll just have to wait until the movie then, like the rest of us. :cwink:

Had I seen the pic on the left before he was cast I would have said there's no way this guy could be Thor. Talk about bulking up!! :wow:

Dude that modeling photo was taken quite a few years ago. That wasn't what he looked like heading into the Thor casting.

Well even in that pic on the left you can see he's got good genetics and bone structure.

Since we are talking about Chris' other films: Here are some set pics from "Rush"

Yeah I'm curious as well. Hoping he learns he can use Mjolnir to transport himself and others.

I can't wait for Cabin in the Woods!

The first review I read of it was pretty meh and said the ending was crap. And since that one, every review since has been really positive. But I"ll have to give it a miss, as I'm terribly squeamish and this one sounds like a choppy bloodfest.

I'm a big horror fan, so I can't miss it.:)

So given the description regarding the way that it was spoiled on how Thor makes his entrance back to Earth, is it safe to assume that
he has learned on how to use his hammer to teleport himself between realms? I mean with the description saying that there was thunder involved along with Thor just dropping from the sky instead of just being shot from it flat on the ground like how we saw with the bifrost transportation landing, it sounds like Thor had learned a new means of traveling. Thoughts?

That would be awesome, I always wanted them to show Mjolnir's more exotic uses in this film.

If they go down that route, they could say, well at least I think they could say, that:

1. Thor had learned during the time gap between "Thor" and "The Avengers" of Mjolnir's full capabilities and decided to undergo some training in order to harness its abilities, and that it was only shortly before the events that led to Loki's arrival on Earth that Thor had learned to master that ability.

2. In response to why Thor wouldn't bring all of Asgard's forces to deal with Loki's army, maybe Thor only knows on how to transport one-two individuals at a time.

That makes sense and what if they show scenes of Thor failing to pull of teleportation a few times before he finally gets it right and teleports to earth.

Also, this is just a theory of mine, but assuming if the speculation is true that the dealings that Loki made with certain individuals will come back in a major force against the Earth for the Avengers sequel, would anyone else think that it'd be cool to see if we were to learn from Loki of that coming threat in "Thor 2", hence Thor traveling through the nine realms to find that mysterious foe by the end of his own film?

I don't know if I would want that to happen, because I want THOR II to be about Thor related characters and not anything major that connects it to The Avengers.

Besides, I think the Avengers are going to face more earthly foes in Avengers 2 and save Loki's "partners" coming to earth for Avengers 3.

Aargh! I was planning on going to the first showing of The Avengers on April 25th ( a holiday here in Oz, so I assumed it would be a mid- morning session). And now they've decided to do a midnight session!

My niece will kill me if I go to the midnight session without her, and her parents wouldn't let her go at that time. And I'm very old and will quite likely turn into a pumpkin when the clock strikes 12 ...... But I'm soooooooooooooo tempted to get a ticket so I can report back on all the Thorsome goodness.

So a question for you all ( and you especially, Vartha, being a mod) .... is anybody going to be reading the April spoilery reviews when the movie airs in New Zealand and Australia or will you all avoid them for a week or so until you see the movie yourself? And to the mods .... are we going to be able to post up any reviews or spoilers on this board, and if so will there be a special thread created for early reviews? I may spontaneously combust if I can't talk about the movie straight after I see it.

I'm not a mod or anything, but I know I'm definately going to be reading spoilers whenever the film is released internationally.

Perhaps we should start a few new threads where anyone who has seen the movie can post without a massive amount of spoiler tags. and people who don't wanna get spoiled stay away from them.

I really hope this happens!
