New poster of Thor and Black Widow, I love their poses in this poster. :woot:

The two characters I'm most looking forward to in this film share a poster and it's the best poster, no less.

Awesome

Why are you looking forward to Thor and Black Widow the most if you don't mind me asking?

I don't know if I would want that to happen, because I want THOR II to be about Thor related characters and not anything major that connects it to The Avengers.

Besides, I think the Avengers are going to face more earthly foes Avengers 2 and save Loki's "partners" coming to earth for Avengers 3.

Didn't Feige say that MCU Phase II was going to begin in IM3? I'm inclined to believe that means the next threat the Avengers face will be built up in the Iron Man mythos instead of Thor this time. Maybe Mandarin and the Ten Rings, or MODOK and AIM....

Check this out. Another Guard I work with gave me two pieces of Fulgurite( Sand fused by lightning)

Well I'm sure either Big G or Freshman will get them sooner or later with and without text.

Thor has the most interesting part in this whole film because of the love that he has for Loki. As for Widow, Scarlett seems to be really on point in everything I've seen from the film. Plus, she was really the only redeeming aspect of Iron Man 2. Also, O just got this feeling that something interesting is going to happen to her.

Ahh I see what you mean, just wondering what you meant that's all.

Not only that but whatever the outcome of the film, it'll lead more directly to Thor 2, which is all I'm really interested in after the Avenger film(s).

Yeah I'm more excited for THOR II than I am The Avengers, but that comes with the territory of being a Thor fan I guess.

That poster is cool, but what could be more epic than IM/HULK??? I am certainly a Thor fan and I LOVED the movie, but come on Big Thor... the Avengers should be the pinnacle! I say that even as a die-hard HULK fan! LOL!

Yeah The Avengers teaming up is cool and all, but I like film where the screen time isn't bounced from one character to the other in which someone is ultimately going to be shafted (Hawkeye :csad:)

Quick question, can movie Thor fly or is mjolnir flying and Thor is just holding on?

I don't really know, because he holds Mjolnir in front of him while he's flying but shown that he doesn't have to spin it to lift off.

When he first flew into the air during fight with The Destroyer he just flew into the air and when he flew Jane to the bi-frost site he just lifted Mjolnir and took off.

If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say he does need Mjolnir to fly, but its not a matter of "throwing the hammer and catching it as it goes," but simply holding Mjolnir. I'm more uncertain on whether he can *hover* while simply holding Mjolnir, or if he needs to spin it up and/or generate a wind storm in order to levitate.

He was hovering during the Destroyer battle after he first flew up into the air, he only spun the hammer to finish creating the tornado then he spun it faster to increase the wind speeds.

heh it's been a LONG LONG debate going forever even in the comics, Meta.
Stan and Jack had the Hammer read "worthy the power of THOR" not "the power of Mjolnir", yet both have been suggested to be Thor's power source over the years. Personally I think of Molnir as a TOOL to focus Thor's own powers.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with The Avengers, but the way they play up Thor's power here is awesome so I thought I'd share it with you.

Odinson posted it in the Thor comics thread, man I absolutely love this part of the interview. :woot:

*This particular bit made me smile*:

Interesting! The Witch's power is quite intimidating, but so is the power of another long time Avenger, Thor. Will we get a chance to see how devastating Thor is in action against the X-Men? Or will he be using all his power to confront something equally intimidating, the Phoenix Force? If so, what kind of battle will that be?

Brevoort: As we've already shown in the preview of "AvX" #1 we've been running, Thor's going to be at the forefront of the Avengers away team tasked with preventing the Phoenix from ever reaching the Earth -- so he's going to be away from the team vs. team fighting at least at the outset. When facing something akin to the Phoenix Force, Thor is one of the very few Avengers capable of operating very comfortably on that level. But assuming he gets back to Earth and enters the combat with the X-Men, he'll be a pretty unstoppable force. I wouldn't bet on the Juggerlossus against him, for instance.

OOOOO that sound uber cool! Like RUNE Thor cool!

Also, this is just a theory of mine, but assuming if the speculation is true that the dealings that Loki made with certain individuals will come back in a major force against the Earth for the Avengers sequel, would anyone else think that it'd be cool to see if we were to learn from Loki of that coming threat in "Thor 2", hence Thor traveling through the nine realms to find that mysterious foe by the end of his own film?

WOW. good point.

Thor will need a power upgrade if he's going to take on the Phoenix force.
