The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor" - Part 4

I think the helmet should make at LEAST one appearance in each Thor Film.
I can see the Helmet being used as a crown over head protection, but at least give his helmet it' DUE.

The amazing thing about the movie helmet is that it looks so great given that the comic book helmet is one of those things that really shouldnt work onscreen.

However i can totally see why they haven't been using it - its just going to be awkward as hell with him taking the thing on and off or arguing with people on the helicarrier with it on. Loki's worked because of that whole illusion thing that Joss used meant it could kind of come and go as needed. Basically it looks cool as hell but it could only work in ceremonial scenes or if he was putting it on when going into battle.

I'm not too crazy about the design of the helmet and think it looks awkward, so its ok with me if he doesnt wear it all the time.

When Thor showed up at the end battle in Avengers, he suddenly had sleeves.

I see no reason why he couldn't have also shown up with the helmet on.
No need to show him taking it off and on, just wear it into battle

The idea that the helmet is an ceremonial item like a crown worked for me. I didn't miss the helmet in the movies so far. Imo it would look weird when he wears this helmet during the battle.

The comics are another point. There the helmet belongs to Thor. But when I think it over I like the ultimate look in the comics better.

Yes I know, they are for protecting the head, not for winning a beauty prize ;-)

gonig to see Avengers for the last time with the mother tonight. She's seen Iron Man, and parts of Capt America, but should I have her watch Thor before going to see it? after having seeing it twice, i dont think its neccsary to see the previous movies to enjoy this one, however Loki being the villain and the talk on the mountain top between Loki and Thor might be a bit  if she hasn't seen Thor.

Isn't it exciting to think that by the time we get our DVD's and Blu-Rays for The Avengers, we'll start hearing and seeing more news in regards to Thor 2? When do they start filming again?

If I'm not mistaken, production is expected to start later this summer.

Actually, to be honest Thor is a fairly important one to see. I'd argue it's more essential to the plot than Captain America or Iron Man 2.

Not that she won't enjoy TA without it, but it may be like  for a little while.

I'm anti-helmet. I like the idea of it being a crown that he eventually dons in Thor 3, maybe, if the story goes in that direction. Otherwise, no.

Hemsworth looks awesome as Thor without it.

I'd like to see the Helmet but they will have to redisign the current movie helmet. To me it doesn't look all that great. It would be nice if they redisigned it too look like this.

Current movie helmet.

I can see the helmet being more of a symbolic element or a crown than a battle helmet.

Then it makes sense that Loki would wear his and Thor wouldn't.

Having the helmet as a ceremonial crown works, but only as a retroactive justification that hides the real reason he doesn't wear it; so Chris Hemsworth gets plenty of unobstructed face-time for the ladies to swoon over.

You know, that looks alot like Thor's "King Thor" helmet.

The funny thing for me is that I've seen Odin and Loki without their helmets, they look fine without them, but for the action scenes that they were in that had them wearing their helmets, I just can't picture them without it in those moments, especially Loki in both "Thor" and "The Avengers".

Thor on the other hand, I've gotten so used to seeing him without his helmet, that it would feel weird for me in away to see him wearing it in battle.lol

it IS remember a few years ago Windlas Steelcrafts MADE the King/Lord Thor helmet AND the Classic Helmet along with a few other Marvel Helmets.

Chances are the whole costume is uncomfortable. It can't be any less comfortable than Captain America's cowl.
Cap has to wear a mask, though (or does he?) I think they gave Hemsworth the helmet with the intent of wearing it throughout but he wasn't going for it.

I think that's what Marvel was planing on. There trying to create a perpetual Hype machine where the end of each movie hypes the next. I all most lost my $#!& when I saw the Avengers footage at the end of Captain America. The same goes for Thor's Hammer at the end of Ironman 2.

The thing that irritates me is that if this were a mythology movie then Thor would be wearing a helmet. Manly because Vikings and warriors in general would wear Helmets into battle becasue Helmets are made to........ :oldrazz: protect your Head. Even though most of the Vikings would wear plain helmets.

Its very simple. A helmet can restrict the character's ability to emote and move because they are worrying about a giant thing on their heads
