The Dark Knight Why does Maroni throw acid at Harvey?

If Maroni is not going to scar Dent in THE DARK KNIGHT, then why is his character even in the movie? Wouldn't they have utilized Oswald Cobblepot as the mob boss if that's all they needed, and not Maroni, who has a very specific reason for existing in the Batman mythos?

Well Maroni takes over Falcone crime family because he was locked up right? Cant put Penguin in there because the general public still thinks he's half human/half penguin. Why would they let him be the mob boss.

What astounds me is that you think people will confuse Nolan's Penguin with Burton's movies. Anyone who has watched Batman Begins, or has half a brain in their skull, knows this is a restart to the franchise, and will not be confused at all.

If Nolan is using Dent's origin inspired by TLH then it HAS to be in the courtroom plus I never liked TAS doing that.

dude you be surprised how many times I had to tell people that its a freaking restart even after they saw the movie!!! They just think its an origin movie not a restart. You give people too much credit.

I think most people think of the 1960s tv show Penquin when they think of the character. Rarely have I met anyone that even confuses the mutant Burton introduced as the real one. And even if they did, what would be the point of a reboot if it didn't at least fix the misconceptions of characters used wrongly before?

As great as the TAS explosion was, all the villains being transformed into villains by means of falling into a vat of chemicals is becoming cliche. Joker in B89, Two-Face in TAS, Mr. Freeze in TAS...what are the chances that anyone will become a criminal if they fall into a vat of chemicals?

That's why I want Harvey Dent to be scarred by Pepto-Bismol in TDK. It's a great irony that the D.A.'s life is ruined in the one place where he has convicted so many criminals (the courtroom). It's as if Maroni is telling him to eat his sh it by throwing the anti-acid (for indigestion) in his face.

we dont know which version Nolan will use but i do know that the scarcrow was pretty much the TAS version! The whole scheme with the fear gas in the water supply and hold the city for ransom! Straight from TAS! Hopefully Nolan will be smart and use two-face version of TAS as well but I wouldnt mind if it was mixed in with TLH as well.
