Will anyone be surprised if the movie ends with, to be continued

1) i know, i KNOW, the "mass hysteria" quote was directed to the 4th villain, but one thing that would DEFINITELY cause "mass hysteria" is the news that SM3 and 4 are being made simultaneously... it is a little early to start filming in January...
2) i would be pissed if it killed off Venom, especially if hes only in it for 10 minutes. Venom deserves his OWN MOVIE!!!
3) "to be continued" would make people horribly mad, unless part 2 was released very soon after.
4) no imax 3d sucks, but it is understandable that the movie needs to get done first and foremost.

i could totally see the 2 films thing, because they have been filming for so long its ridiculous

I want a Spider-Man 4, but I doubt it will have a cliffhanger or "To Be Continued" like in Matrix Revolution... last two movies didn't have it and Raimi isn't that cruel...

I would prefer Lizard to Sandman by a long shot though, however it doesn't seem to be in the cards though.

Two films being secretly filmed back-to-back COULD happen. Think about it....SPIDER-MAN 3 IS NOT being formatted for IMAX. The reason: they're just trying to get it done in time. IN TIME? they have THREE YEARS....that's a damn prison sentence...I think they could finish and format ONE movie.....but not two

its really wierd, how things are going.. but essentially u dont need much for the 4th film in terms of characters other then venom and lizard

im sure if Raimi feels the same way after 3, he'll do 3 more.

if 4 isn't secretly being made at the same time, they could announce 4,5,6 are being filmed at the same time. it will save tons of money, and get all the actors back, and not let them age as much, since a trilogy takes 1-1.5 years to film.

Meh I dont see a two be continued at all, not even close to the cliff hangerish ending of SM2.

I can see them either going Venom/ and alittle carnage at the end. For Sm4

The other way, i hope they choose if there are gonna be 6 films is

LIzard and Kraven the Hunter, with the Death of Spider-Man story. It makes for an amazing story. Parker cant kill the Lizard cause he eventually finds out its his friend Conners so this makes for a very hard capture of the Lizard. He is also being hunted by Kraven the Hunter. After insulting Kraven by being his first prey that escapes and beats kraven in a fight, this makes the hunt personal.

So once Kraven gets spidy by suprise fighting the lizard he takes him out, and burries him alive. Kraven puts on the spidy outfit (being that spidy seems to be supior) and goes out to do what spidy couldn't do, capture the Lizard.) It will be a sweet shot too seing spidy's hand jut out of the grave and have him try to keep the lizard alive while trying to beat Kraven. For Romance reasons you can even have Kraven's brother Chameleon and have him do some crazy parker switches. but that would be alittle much.

well, if spidey is too long, it might hurt the movie,
ie, ive heard many people found the superman returns movie too long,

even though personally i love long movies, like lord of the rings,etc

i reckon they should do a 4th,

with or without raimi,

give tobey his pay day again if the 3rd gets big money at the box office again,he deserves some payday

trust me, i reckon spidey will have 5 or 6 altogether,

While I agree filming SM3 and 4 simultanously is not totally out of the question, you have to ask yourself...how the hell would they hide it from all the rabid fans that live in NYC? And if other villians (i.e. Lizard and Kraven) were involved, all the sccopers would have seen Doc Conners and an unknown actor on the sets by now. As much as I want them to announce a surprise SM4 with the same cast, I think its very unlikely that they could have kept it so hush-hush.

I still think the best way to go is with a Venom cliffhanger. Why? Well, because throwing Venom in the last 15mins seems like a waste.

Now, what I think would be nice is, at the end of the movie, Harry's good, Harry and Pete have just defeated Sandman, everyone's happy, then BAM a sharp piece of metal debree is thrust through Harry's chest. Peter turns around only quick enough to see a shadow darting away. Then we get a full shot of Venom, in full costume swinging above the city.

For SM4, we could have the Lizard appear, and Spidey trying to fight him, while being constantly haunted by a nameless foe who keeps leaving threating notes, and a "monster" keeps appearing and scaring MJ and Aunt May.

I just think it would make Venom a much better Villan, and really, it would could set up for the most intense Villan fight in the Saga. It would be even more personal then the GG1 fight in SM1. But of course, they probably won't do any of that.

Lizard, written right can be a very good villain.
Doc Ock wasn't necessarily my favorite villain, at all, but he was written very well in Spider-Man 2. Lizard can have the same treatment.

I would hope a part 4 even if it's the last. Venom for ten minutes is not enough! Some say Brock may be out, but the symbiote will survivie. Maybe Brock may die they say or he is just knocked out, hospital status. What if they introduce Scorpion and he becomes Venom like in the comics? Just a thought. I don't know, but Venom ten minutes no matter how sexy his ten minutes isn't enough...
