I was really surprised they went through with it. I thought they would do a homage, like Dent in the courtroom in TDK. But I enjoyed it, that fight was awesome, and Bane, for all that silly talk, was plenty menacing and imposing.

Not saying it was, but the point that he messed his back up period, I didn't think Nolan would have him do that at all

There were some people in the audience genuinely shocked by the fight scene. A few people thought Bruce was dead. Some girl said " No ****ing way".

I didn't know if Nolan would actually have Bane do the knee back breaker. It was gruesome but I'm glad that was in there.

That scene was really intense. I actually felt sorry for Batman.

The fight scene was just okay but not spectacular. It was like a brutal boxing match to be honest.

Now is not the time for thumb wars...that comes later.

By FAR my favorite scene. Ripped straight out of Knightfall.

By far the most terrifying fight scene I've ever seen. I was really afraid for Batman. Bane practically ripped his body and soul apart. It wasn't the back breaking that did it for me, it was when Bane was pounding his head in. I thought he was going to crush his skull.

The best part of the fight scene was Bane letting Batman keep hitting him at various points of the fight, to soak the punches and wear him out/get into his head.

I already see a future endless loop .gif of Bane pummeling Batman's cowl till it cracks.

The first Batman Vs Bane fight was better than the final battle ( which is kinda sad). And I was kinda dispointed in the back breaking scene. It just lacked the emotional weigh and impact I was expecting. Bats didn't even scream or anything. It was just a quick "o Iook I popped your spine later" kind of feeling.

Nah, I don't think they could have topped it nor should they have. After all, Batman wasn't going for body shots in the second fight and was attacking Bane's mask which is the proverbial "weak point for massive damage" and getting him out of breath to get the upper hand.

Bane was destroying concrete pillars outside City Hall which is incredible strength. Batman knew he couldn't win in a prolonged slugfest.

It was definitely more of passing out from shock and pain hence no scream

I don't think the fight was quite as brutal as people have stated. One sided yes, but not all that brutal.

I read spoilers about the sewer fight way before I saw the movie tonight.

Regardless, did anybody flinch as much as I did when Bane broke Batman's mask (and you could see the cracks), before finally lifting him up and slamming him down?

It was really gruesome and too raw.

Agreed. He was letting him punch him, letting Batman know he had absolutely no chance.

100% agreed. I thought Bane had smashed his skull in at first. Most terrifying scene of any batman movie:wow::wow::wow:

What makes it even more menacing is the absence of music and the way his voice sounds at certain parts.

I agree. There was a big sense of dread throughout the fight. Batman turning off the lights. Bane not caring one inch about that and still finding him/dishing out pain.Batman using the flash bangs. Bane standing firm and mocking their use. Batman laying punches that don't make any impact, etc.

I thought it went really well with Alfred saying that Bruce was pretty much trying to kill himself. He had nothing, his soul was crushed, he lost Alfred, so asking to fight Bane, and being taken to him, was kinda Bruce's way of saying he wanted to die.
