I'm actually a bit more optimistic with what he said and the way he responded. Sony wanted this film to be bigger; more epic. That seems to be the case, but at the price of a bit of underdevelopment of certain characters (compared to their comic counterparts).

More action (bigger action)? I'm all for that.

But a couple things that haven't come up yet:

I want to see the Captain's death and Gwen blame Spidey. Without that, it's a major letdown. Both girls living would also be a letdown, as well. I did like the fact that lakiamai clearly indicated that there would be mind games. Should be interesting to see how that plays out.

They still have 3 more movies to go, why do you people want to see a character(s) die (not including Uncle Ben of course) as soon as they're introduced into the movies?

I'm probably the only one who thinks Norman Osborn should still be alive. In the second movie, is where I think he should have died. I guess his baby boy will die in SM3.

In movie 3 the fate of the characters should be:

Harry- Dies in battle. He dies sacraficing himself for Peter after forgiving Peter, and realizing that Norman's death was Norman's fault alone.

Aunt May- Lives on to see another day. Makes complete peace with Peter for death of her husband. However, is shunned by "dark Peter" throughout the film.

Mary Jane- Lives to see another day, as well. She and Peter break up in the middle of the film. "dark Peter" ditches her, and is with Gwen. MJ later learns that his actions were just a result of the symbiote, and once she sees the evil that the symbiote realy holds (Venom) she believes and forgives Peter.

Eddie Brock/Venom- Venom "dies". Not anything of any finality, just Brock and the Symbiote seperate, and Brock is left a broken man, out for revenge. Making him even more dangerous when he reunites with the alien and "I" becomes "We" once again.

Sandman/Flint Marko- Dies as a result of Venom turning on him in the final act.

Gwen Stacey- Used as bait to capture and kill Spider-man by the Green Goblin. She is dropped from atop a building and dies in Harry's last act of evil.

Captain Stacey- Dies in the result of a Goblin or Sandman/Spider-man fight. An explosion occurs during an ariel/building top battle, and bricks and debris piles on top of the police captain, killing him. Gwen blames Spider-man for death of her father, but doesn't know that Peter and Spider-man are one in the same.


Peter: Left in complete agony after the death of the only other woman he has cared for his entire life, and the demise of his best friend, who died in one last act of heroism.

I still don't think the Q&A is correct to the T. There's still things that could be different, even though there are things similar to it. I'll just wait till I see the movie to say that guy was 100% correct. But GG2 and Sandman team up seems more logical than a venom/sandman team up.

It is hard to see anything at this point, your right. But I'm just saying I rather see GG2 and Sandman teaming up. But I wouldn't be disappointed if it was the other way around, so it doesn't really matter to me.

So very true. If the SM franchise continues to rake in the bucks, Sony will continue to make them. That was the plan with the Batman series originally... and Superman. But guess what? A couple of flops and it all stops. So the vision might be to make 6(or more), but one bomb changes all the plans and dreams.
