So TNA is going for a rebooted product upon debuting on a new network. Ok, I'll bite. I won't lie, I've always rooted for TNA in hopes that they could deliver a solid alternative product and they have let me down time after time after time, settling for being WWE lite or WWE trapped in a time warp if you will. Granted, I've often said that I would have rather seen ROH with TNA's television deal and the money of Panda Energy behind it with ROH officials in control, but thats neither her now there. So what would I do....
One, I'll state that I look at the NXT roster and I see a bunch of guys TNA should have signed when they had the chance. Nevill(PAC), Steen, Kenta, Devitt, Sami Zayn, etc would have all been TNA talent had I been in charge instead of WWE rejects and cast offs. The WWE has wisely signed up all these talents, so we cannot go back in time.
First off, make some signings. Two younger indy talents TNA should sign and push are Uhaa Nation and Kyle O'Reilly. Both are fantastic young talents that would give a unique element to TNA and are ready for the green light. Push Nation as a guy to break the barrier of African Americans in wrestling to the TNA World title and O'Reilly as the bad ass MMA hybrid chasing the X-Division title. The third major signing, despite my anti-WWE comments a second ago is Alberto Del Rio. I've always liked ADR, he is fantastically bad ass in the ring and has a great story behind him right now. I'd immediatly place the X-Division title on ADR.
I've always disagreed with TNA eliminating so many PPV's as they brought in income from buy rates. I'd bring those back if I could, so lets say we either bring more PPV's back or start running specials like NXT. The first "PPV/Special" needs to be headlined by Roode/Lashley 3. Finish up that rivalry. And make it special. I don't think Lashley has the gas for a 60 minute Ironman match, so book a 30 minute Ironman match and trust Roode to carry Lashley through it cardiovascularly. Roode wins. On that show, ADR defeats Low Ki for the X title as well, Angle defeating MVP, the debut of Nation/O'Reilly, and showcase moments for guys like Aries, Storm, EY, Magnus the Hardy's, etc.
Moving on from there, Roode can continue to defend the title against the likes of Aries, Magnus, and so on. Give Roode a nice title run that eventually leads to a show down with EC3 upon his return. I dig EC3 and I actually think his flaws make him a better heel because he plays into them. In time, I want EC3 to take the title from Roode as the top heel in the company. With the X title, I envision a physical smash mouth feud between ADR and a returning Samoa Joe being a big part of television for awhile. Feud Storm and Abyss with EY and Spud for the tag titles until the Wolves are set for a return, build your newer talent for awhile and let things take shape.
Build for BFG 15 with EC3 as your top heel taking on the face you want to build the company around, ADR/O'Reilly for the X title, and Angle putting over a younger guy off the top of my head!!!
