For a variety of reasons, a place to converse about Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in BvS specifically.

Thanks for starting this. I hope people remember to post in here instead of the regular WW threads, especially when BvS comes out.

I am hoping that WW is not the one to stop Batman and Superman's conflict by just showing up, I do want her to meet both in her civilian guise and talk to them as Clark and Bruce and for whatever they take away from those interactions to play into the ceasing of hostilities.

I'm trying to keep my expectations for Diana's role in Dawn of Justice reigned in.

Although it would be great if Diana was presented as a ambassador or head of a wondrous charitable organisation and if Wonder Woman was the one who convinced Superman and Batman to set aside their differences and to work for the greater good as a team, I'm not sure her role will be that substantial.

At the very least, the "Is she with you?" ... "I thought she was with you" snippet from the trailer suggests that Superman and Batman have already formed an alliance of sorts before Wonder Woman shows up. Although, that doesn't discount Diana separately approaching Bruce and Clark to talk sense to them prior to her reveal as Wonder Woman.

Or those lines could have solely been recorded for the trailer / promotional purposes?

I'm also hoping that Wonder Woman has a defined role in the conflict with Doomsday (and any other villain/s which may appear). Ideally, due to the fact that she has thousands of years of experience as a warrior, I would like to see her take a leadership position and to provide direction to Superman and Batman that aligns with each character's strengths. But, since the movie is titled "Batman V Superman", I don't see that happening. Still, it would be nice if Wonder Woman at least proposes a battle strategy which is successful (even if it's doesn't "finish" Doomsday).

Also, I want to see Wonder Woman ditch her sword and shield and use the lasso!

As I have pointed out in other threads if you notice she doesn't have the lasso with her when she makes that leap, so I assume it was employed before that.

It will be rather funny to see reactions if it turns out she appears as WW only right at the end, 20 seconds max.
Quick cuts of her blocking Doomsday's heat vision, jumping back into the fray, standing with Superman and Batman and then....

fade to JUSTICE LEAGUE 2017.

Twill be chaos :D

This is what I want! I think they will do the ambassador thing and play it up and they flip (they it won't surprise nerds like us) and whaaaaa the ambassador is Wonder Woman?!?! Yeah her role will be small given that Gal Gadot got bottom billing.

It won't be a big role but we know just from the various costume changes that she's not just in one or two scenes.

As someone direly skeptical of BvS, I'm keeping my hopes reined in. I'll be happy if whatever scenes she has, are sufficiently good for people to come out of the movie going "Huh, I'd actually like to see a full blown Wonder Woman movie." However good, or bad, the movie is, I'd really hate it if Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman were turned into a scapegoat.

Scapegoat for what ? If BvS under performs, it would be due to story, direction and performance of the two lead actors and main villain, guest star like WW has very little part in the movie.

Which is entirely true, and has *nothing* to do with what the studio execs choose to blame for the underperformance. I'm not saying BvS failing to meet goals would be Gal Gadot's fault. I'm saying that it might get pinned unfairly on her, because its easier to blame a relatively new and politically powerless actress than admit that the executives themselves screwed up.

Basically, I hope that Gal Gadot's performance is strong enough that if the execs blame anyone, its Zach Snyder. Which has the dual benefit of not perpetuating the "nobody wants superheroines" meme, and being largely true to reality.

Her role isn't big enough for anyone, movie goer, fan, or exec, to blame this movies failures and shortcomings on her. It jus isn't going to happen

It seems like she will meet both throughout the film as a civilian from what I can gather from the trailers. In my opinion, seems like we may only see her as Wonder Woman in the final third of the film possibly.

I'm sure the action will be good. But WW wise, I'm looking forward to her dance scene with Bruce the most, I think.

So I'm not the only one weirdly excited to see the Bruce (Batman)/Diana (Wonder Woman) ship in live-action?

Anyone here see COLLIDER HEROES last show?

Entertainment Weekly said:
Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) has a major supporting role, with her alter ego, Diana Prince, running afoul of Bruce Wayne as they engage in rival missions to steal some of Luthor's most disconcerting secrets. Even before she brandishes a sword and her golden lasso, Wonder Woman's secret identity is pretty badass.

Sounds good.

It does sound like Diana's occupation as an antiquities dealer provides her with a cover story to travel the world tracking down certain mystical / godly / magical artefacts which have fallen into the hands of nefarious evil-doers.

I like what I am hearing so far. It will be interesting to see how much her own mission intersects with the conflict, and how it may or may not reflect on her solo film's plot.

That's nice.

I'm pretty much expecting Diana introduced the way female characters are in these superhero movies. Her presence being felt throughout the movie. Maybe not as much screen time as Anne Hathaway in Dark Knight Rises, but a great introduction, some clues/easter eggs, and a strong foundation to be built upon.

In the interview below, Gal talks about WW in the modern world now filled with "guys in capes" in BvS:

And here again is the clip of Diana and Bruce talking (interesting that the music behind it is the same used for Eyes Wide Shut (a Shostakovich waltz):

So very wonderful! I'm now a Gal Gadot believer. Gal is Wonder Woman!

I can't wait to see more of the character in the upcoming solo movie!

You've seen the movie I presume?
