Wonder Woman in Batman V. Superman Thread

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman. How was her in your opinion?

  • Magnificent and we haven't seen much of her

  • Good, but I need to see more of her in her solo

  • I didn't like her.

That's awesome! Very reassuring to know you enjoyed her role immensely, just builds my hype up that much more. :D

MAJOR SPOILAGE but I wanted to talk about some things from the Batman v Superman movie:

WW's bracers do create a power surge when smash together! It's not that massive one we saw in the trailer, but just a big shockwave that is a pretty cool power.

Diana's presence is intriguing in the film. The reference to the fake sword is interesting.

When Lex is giving a speech he makes reference to Prometheus and Zeus. Diana is in the crowd listening and just rolls his eyes at him. I can't wait to see them really explore that aspect of the story- how they will portray the Greek gods and goddesses.

Now more intrigued by Steve Trevor and his fate.

I just saw it. She's very cynical about Man's World, I hope her solo film doesn't end depressingly. Can anyone help reassure me this movie will be lauded better than MOS? This is a tall order film and I want it to be good.

Well, we'll be getting a different perspective outside of Zack Snyder's with Patty Jenkins.

I honestly don't know if it will be so dark. But it could potentially be very exciting with the Amazons in battle, the Greek gods, the mythological beasts.

I don't know if it will end on a depressing note, but she does say in BvS she

quit a hundred years ago. Which is during WW1. And that man continued with war after that.

I think it can be a great film, different to the other superheroes.

As for optimism and hope, the story of WW continues with the Justice League and more solos.

Just back from a midnight screening. Movie was not great but enjoyable enough. Probably one of those movies that will get more enjoyable over time. Gal was perfectly fine in what she had to do. Not much dialogue and her action sequences where fine. No where near as epic as I had hoped or was led to believe from reviews.Editing and cutting away from scenes was this movies biggest flaw.

Thanks, I like Zack, but there is definitely a 'stink' surrounding him, meanwhile Patty Jenkins is a relative obscurity that will free expectations a bit and let critics give WW a (hopefully) fairer review.

I went to the advanced screening for BvS with my sister. She's a casual fan and didn't like Gadot's casting, but after BvS she kept saying how awesome Wonder Woman was to my surprise. :)

Gal completely nailed the role. Liked how subtle she was as Diana Prince, and a total beast as WW. Consider me a true believer in WonderGal.:woot:

Also loved the part when she rolled her eyes at Lex's Zeus and Prometheus speech.

Oh, and the moment her score kicked in when [BLACKOUT]Bruce discovered her identity[/BLACKOUT] and when she appeared in costume, I had the widest grin on my face.

I think that Gal as WW really popped every time she was on screen.

I won't be the first one to say it, she was badass, it was such a joy to see her in action.[BLACKOUT] And that 100 years old reveal photo[/BLACKOUT]. I had goosebumps.

So in the movie [blackout]we're shown a picture of her in WWI Belgium, with Steve Trevor/Chris Pine, Said Taghmoui, a Native American man and a French soldier. Any guesses on the later three?[/blackout]

Interested to find out after BvS

how Diana comes to find out Lex has a photograph of her. If Diana walked away from man's world 100 years ago, why is she still in the modern world (where Lex could spy on her)? Does she still live in the world as Diana or does she retreat back to Themyscira?

Where is Ares in the modern world? Will everything be resolved with him by the end of her solo movie? I wonder what the modern day "bookends" in the solo movie will entail, whether much time will be spent on that, where something needs to be solved or a battle fought, or will they just be a short prologue and epilogue?

Is she still in search of artefacts? In BvS she is looking at that fake sword of Alexander the Great, and she knows where the real one is (over the bed of a a sultan after being sold in the black market in 1998). What is she doing with all her modern day antiquities dealings?

Apologies for horrible formatting, on mobile!

Maybe she retreated back to Themyscira and when the events of MoS happened she was intrigued, went back to Man's World, and then found out about Lex?

I would like to see a prologue and epilogue of Diana telling Lois her story. Gal and Amy seem to really like and respect each other so I'd love to see them together.

I think she's using her antiquities dealing just like Clark as a DP reporter - an excuse to travel the world. And she's obviously an expert in the field from personal experience!

I have a feeling that when Diana first left Themiscrya, she wasn't able to go back which is what lead her to stay in Mans World.

Any good shot of the 1918 photo from the film?

It could be because of MOS. It would've been nice to see her perspective on the appearance of Superman and aliens. I guess they could address that in her movie. So I guess she ventures out of Themyscira after the Black Zero event in MOS, finds out that Lex knows about her, and then that leads to BvS...

That moment with the music when the WWI pic was shown... Again, it made the DCEU tangible. We are going to go into the hidden history with WW.

Depending on what all they want to tell us in WW, I would really like a tie-in comic to explore Dianas time leading up to BvS and her involvement with her picture.

I'm definitely interested in learning more about the evolution of Wonder Woman in her solo movie. I wonder if they've moved away from the idea of Diana being an active superhero in man's world over 5,000 years and instead her mission during WW1 will be her first ever time leaving Themyscira?

It will also be interesting to see what prompted Diana to abandon her humanitarian / heroic efforts, especially since the allies were victorious during WW1. And the reasons behind her choice to stop being a hero, but to remain in man's world as some sort of wealthy, frequently travelling something or other (antiquities dealer, although that wasn't confirmed in DoJ) will be interesting to learn.

I think it will be her first time leaving her homeland since she is suppose to be the opposite of what we saw in BvS. She'll probably have fought in WWII but the constant wars will have her see that she can't help a world that doesn't want to be helped.

See... I don't remember them ever saying she was an active participant all through her 5000 years. I could see her popping back and forth a handful of times or WWI being her first time off the island.
