Worst Movies of 2009

:hehe: Indeed I am!

I admit Wolverine could of, SHOULD of been so much better.

But at least it tried to be serious and have a adult narrative and characters. And there was some material in there that actually made you think. Some people don't see it but that's fair enough.

Transformers 2 just didn't even try to do anything other than throw a load of explosions at us and use utterly UNFUNNY comedy. John Turturro is one of my favourite actors, and he was completely wasted in that movie.

I'll say it again. Making spectacular SFX is not hard these days. You throw $200 million + at a movie and SFX is the bread and butter. It's ****ing easy. IT IS NOT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT.

No its not. Honestly Transformers, the first one, has some of the best effects ever created. But theres a difference between "CGI" and "Transformers/Kong" CGI. One looks like CGI, the other looks real.

And if you think about it, it IS very hard to figure out where all the bots will go, and set up all the pre-rigging explosions, ect.

Its not easy. Not at all. But really, I dont know why people are going to see a Transformers movie for anything other then dumb humor, hot chicks, and robots fighting.

Isn't it kinda sad how a 'worst movies' thread starts before a 'best movies' thread. I'd have thought that people would rather talk about them. Shows what I know. :woot:

I guess its because all of the really good Oscar contending films don't really come out until later this year like usual.

You mean the ones that the majority of users around here don't bother watching?

The point is, there are FAR...FAAAAR more movies worst then TF2. I mean....seriously.

But I, once again, digress.
Like Tommy Wiseau's "The Room"? Yeah. But both are in the cinematic gutter. TF2 is just a thin layer above it.

I gotta say I hated both Wolverine and TF2. Seriously, when you've got the goods in a film the same summer like ST(I've never been a Star Trek fan, but that movie was awesomly executed), I just don't understand why people would settle for substandard film-making as evidenced in TF2 & XO:W. I know, they mostly made their $ on name recognition/fan-base supported by huge marketing blitzes but you gotta ask, at what point do fans say enough is enough?

I do think TF3 will end up paying for TF2's awefulness in a big way. Same with the next X-film.

Oh, it definitely is. I love it. TF2 doesn't cross that threshold from "terrible" to "so terrible it's good". It stays in "terrible".

Trolls 2 fit in there as well. "Oh no, a double-decker bologna sandwich!! Think of the toxins!" But yeah, TF2 was just not good.

Troll 2 is amazing. Plan 9 From Outer Space, The Beast of Yucca Flats, Werewolf, etc.

Yeah, movies that are in the "so bad their good" category earn some points. The worst films are the ones that are not enjoyable on ANY level, and I would definitely put TF2 in that group.

But I love fun bad movies. I know that Ace of Knaves will agree when I say that DOLEMITE is f**king awesome. Other favorites... Prince of Space, Space Mutiny, Hercules in New York, Catman in Lethal Track, Silent Night Deadly Night 2 and of course, The Final Sacrifice (A.K.A. Rowsdower).

Dolomite ****ing rules, hellz yes!!! Rudy Ray Moore is the man, the Human Hurricane even!!

Shark Attack 3: Megalodon is also worth checking out. Few movies have had me laughing as hard as that one.

I feel The Legend of Chun Li was way worse than Transformers. If you get me bored in a movie that has both martial arts and lesbians, than you got yourself a problem. Then again, most people knew better than to try and even watch that.

^That last sentence is why I wouldn't count stuff like SF:TLoCL nor DB:E. They could never even merit a viewing in the first place.

Yea I think we should save them for the worst movie ever thread when the world is coming to an end.

LOL, yeah, I didn't even bother with that movie. But wait... lesbians, you say?
