Would you be open to an X4 with the original cast (Including Hugh n Halle)

If we're talking overall (worldwide) box office, that can't be right. The Last Stand is behind Cars both domestically and in the foreign box office . . . and the Da Vinci Code is miles ahead of both Cars and The Last Stand worldwide. Even Ice Age: The Meltdown is ahead of The Last Stand overall. That's not to say that the movie didn't do well though.

I don't have links and numbers, but I remember that X-Men: The Last Stand was the highest grossing film of the year, before Pirates of the Caribean released.

I could be wrong, but that's what I remember.

EDIT:

Never mind, I could very well be wrong, because "Cars" came out after X-Men, right?

Rolo stories suck. And it's a bad pairing.

Forge/Storm is what should happen. Maybe include the Ultimate X-Men storyline of her being attracted to Hank? As you might know in later comics she became more of a brooding/sad character because of Hank being killed by a Sentinel.

Either Forge/Storm or the implied attraction of Hank/Storm could be used for a sequel or a restart.

Agreed entirely. He's really the only guy I've liked her with.

It could work I guess. Not much a fan of it, but it works better than her and Wolvie.

I'm all for Forge's introduction.

yeah it did and CR came way after them but somehow made more than both......I am quite suprised that movie made so much

Yeah, Cars was released a couple weeks later. Among the 2006 releases, The Last Stand falls behind: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, The Da Vinci Code, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Cars, and Casino Royale (which is not a bad place to be).

Yeah, forge/storm si jnetresting, but rolo is a better idea. :o

Mmm. Rolo would feel insanely forced movieverse after the whole "For you" nonsense at Alcatraz...

And as for BO numbers, X3 was like third highest grosser domestic and, what, 6-7th international? Well, of course, theatrical run wasn't that profitable thanks to a huge budget, but oh well... At least Fox can brag it did better than SR... *shrugs*

Where did you hear that? The way I saw it they didn't b/c X3 had bad legs after opening weekend. It's second weekend had a HUGE drop just like the Hulk did. Also, if you adjust for inflation, X3 did not do much better than X2. It's like Batman Forever did not make much more than Batman Returns adjusted for inflation.

Dont let your dislike for the film overshadow the fact that X-Men 3 was a hugh hit at the box office. It wouldnt have made $450 million+ if people didnt like it.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ($1065,4 million)
2. The Da Vinci Code ($756,7 million)
3. Ice Age: The Meltdown ($647,3 million)
4. Casino Royale ($531,2 million)
5. Cars ($461,8 million)
6. X-Men: The Last Stand ($458,8 million)

X-Men 3 also sold more then 5 million copies in its first week. It will have sold millions more after that, plus rentals.

So overall the public liked X-Men 3.

I think the point some were making is that not that many liked it past the opening weekend.

Peoples still liked it after opening weekend. It was still making millions. The number of people who went to see it dropped but that happens to all films. It is rare that a film makes more money each week than the previous.

Sigh.

Look, all I'm saying is the movie had horrible legs, for crying out loud. That's FACT.

I never said it was a flop. Gee.

doesn't X3 own one of the biggest falls from 1st to second week ever? I thought I heard this somewhere.
edit: i just checked BOM, and actually X-men 3 has the 74th biggest fall of all time, so no, I was wrong.

Yeah, the film is rather a huge success nonetheless

And don't let your like for the film overshadow the fact that X-Men went downhill at #3. It failed to beat the trilogy curse and as X3 gets older more people are gonna be talking about how they hated it and then the anticipation for an X4 will decrease. What your saying also applies to The Matrix Reloaded. The only reason Reloaded was a huge BO hit (also on sales and rentals) was b/c a lot of people heard the first one was great but when they went to see Reloaded they didn't like it. That was why Revolutions did poorly compared to Reloaded. Reloaded also got the same kind of reception X3 did from general audiences but, if you go to RT you'll see Reloaded got better reception from critics than X3 did. So in conclusion, BO success does not rule out poor film quality and it's the reason why trashy sequels are made.

I thought people considered Reloaded to be better than the first Matrix? I remember Revolutions being poorly received by critics, fans, and the general audience.

I don't know anyone who liked Reloaded better than the first. In fact, I don't know many people who even liked it.

I will say that I liked it better than the first. I liked the character development, the action, the suspense, and the twist ending that happened afterwards.

I seem to remember critics, fans, and non-fans liking it quite a bit. From the complaints I remember the only negative was Neo's dialogue with the Architect that dragged on(according to some people).

Revolutions, on the other hand, was very poorly received and I can understand why seeing as it wan't very emotional, it was anti-climatic, and is another film that suffered the wonderful "trilogy curse".

I personally like Matrix Reloaded better than the first, but I don't know many people who do.

I saw recently Bang Bang you're dead of Ben Foster, and Hard Candy a month ago or so... I think they should use better the talent of some of the young actors of this franchise. Ben, Ellen, Anna.... they're very good actors and in the films it's really poor what we've seen of them.

I'm seeing these days the 2 season of 4400 and there are there more good momments than in the xfranchise. They shows better what it is being gift and the relationship with the normal humans, there are some emotional momments that I've enjoyed so much. I'd wish the xfilms have momments like those.

Come on, Fox, bring drama to the xfilms, you have that great cast and that's all you can do with them? How sad...

hmm I've always had for a fact that Reloaded was a poor sequel that only searched for money...actually Lastsunrise and Nell are the first people I see who liked the movie, ever. To me it was terrible, and to everyone I've ever spoke about it. The First one is classic and outstanding, but the two sequels...
