Oh harryoscop. What must the world look like through your eyes?
Mine would have to be
BB: 8/10
TDK:5/10
TDKR:2/10
Batman Begins was the closest we've gotten to a real representation of the actual batman of the comics. It was gritty, dark and brooding. Bruce Wayne was on a mission and was a bad ass. Bale was also in his best shape out of the trilogy. His voice worked the best here. The costume was also the most menacing and he didn't look like 'Armor Man'. The action was decent and the best fight choreography of the trilogy. The story whilst a tad cliche in places was very good and the entire movie keeps you very engaged and rooting for batman. Not to mention I didn't think there was one bad actor in the movie and I much preferred Holmes.
The Dark Knight: Aside from a nice performance from Ledger and the original cast from Begins, the acting was not very good. Terrible pacing, terrible costume for Batman. Wasn't a fan of Ledgers look and being totally honest.. His performance didn't really feel like the Joker to me, still a good performance. The story felt pretty boring and whiny in places. The entire third act could have been cut.. It just felt like the screenwriters were just adding cliche tid bits for the fun of it. Didn't like Chicago Gotham. Really did not like Maggie replacing Holmes, she felt cheap and delivered her lines very fast like a rehearsal. There was no chemistry with her and Aaron/Christian. I could go on, don't get me wrong, I don't hate it, it's still much better than any other batman live action movie besides BB and even though B89 isn't very comic accurate I still prefer that over most of TDK.
The Dark Knight Rises: Wow, where do I begin? I hate that Bane was 5'7 and his race was changed just because Nolan decided to s*** on the character. Catwoman was obnoxious as was the cliche "Clean slate" concept. The worst fight choreography in the trilogy. HATE JOHN BLAKE!!!!! And Joseph Gordon Levitt's acting! Batman barely shows up, and once again armor man. Completely wrong use of Talia. The only thing in this movie that I liked... Was the scene where Bruce shows up at Selina's apartment.... I'm not joking.. This movie was trash... Utter trash.
Ill respect that this is your view on the trilogy but i can have my two cents too.
I dont see how Dark Knight is poorly paced, quite the opposite. I also didn't think Maggie delivered her lines fast like a rehearsal. Don't know where that's coming from.
Bane wasn't 5'7 in the movie, now you're being ridiculous. What are they supposed to do? Hire a 6'7 actor just because he's tall?
My ratings:
BB: 4/5
TDK: 4.5/5
TDKR: 4.3/5
I watched Rises the other day, still love this movie to death. I don't like rating the individual films though, since i see it as one story.
Ridiculous? Why because I speak the truth that all Nolan worshipers are to afraid to do? Tom hardy is 5'7 give an inch or two. No they did not have to hire any tall actor, but how about one that's comic accurate and gee.. Idk the same race? The same way it irks me when they change the race of characters like Human Torch, Nick Fury, Perry white ect. It completely disregards the source material. Also TDK was incredibly fast paced in a bad way, it was rushed and felt like a combination of scenes from different movies piled together to try and make one.
Oh we got us a ripe one here. That kind of attitude is why your opinion ain't going to be taken seriously. Delusional dark knight as your custom title. Good choice.
Anyways my ratings.
Begins - 9/10
Knight - 10/10
Rises - 8/10
That's my truth aka honest opinion and I ain't afraid to speak it.
Attitude? Not really pal, just defending myself from claims of being "Ridiculous". Just carry on about yourself and focus more on putting things in order of Greatest to least greatest as the thread says, cause you have it as good to best to worst... Kind of eludes me.
Stop being racist. It doesn't matter if they change a minor character from white to black or vice versa, as long as they get the character right. I would agree with you when it comes to the bigger heroes like Spider-Man but come on now. Also, never be too attached to the source material when you're dealing with film adaptations. It's the directors right to take liberties and make it their own. You dont have to like it if you're more of a comic purist, but you shouldn't be saying things like "they SHOULD be just like how they are in the source material". That's very limiting. The comics are always there if you want to read them, nobody is stopping you. The films don't have to be accurate. If/when we do get a full-on accurate adaptation, that's fine. But not everything needs to be that way every single time.Ridiculous? Why because I speak the truth that all Nolan worshipers are to afraid to do? Tom hardy is 5'7 give an inch or two. No they did not have to hire any tall actor, but how about one that's comic accurate and gee.. Idk the same race? The same way it irks me when they change the race of characters like Human Torch, Nick Fury, Perry white ect. It completely disregards the source material. Also TDK was incredibly fast paced in a bad way, it was rushed and felt like a combination of scenes from different movies piled together to try and make one.
Changing the race of Bane would only s**t all over the source material if they were following every single part to a tee, which they weren't. It has to serve the story THEY are trying to tell. Hardy being 5'7 means nothing because movies make you look bigger with camera tricks, lifts etc. Bane still looked taller than Batman, still looked 6'3' ish or whatever. Hardy used a bit of the latin backround.
You contradicted yourself by saying no they dont need to hire a taller actor but what about one that's comic accurate. So tell the truth then, you want an actor who is comic accurate. One that is Affleck's height or taller. But this was a more grounded take on the character, not the 7 foot comic accurate Bane. There's also not many good actors at all who are 6 foot 4 that could play the character of Bane.
The Dark Knight was not a fast paced film. I've heard people (haters) talk about how slow it was compared to other comic book movies. It didn't feel like random scenes thrown together, everything had a flow. It was a well-written script with nice pacing. The story moved along nicely.
Lmao, oh god.
This a universe where people can control the weather based on genetic material. We don't need the goggles for us to be sold on superhuman speed.![]()
what if a mosquito splats in his eye
That won't happen in the film.
You know the pickins where fairly slim when Man of Steel wins the poll.
You know the poster is obsessed when he can't let the fact that a film he doesn't like exists, go.
You know fans of a movie are sensitive when a poster who has never even reviewed Man of Steel on this site let alone ever commented on it at all much before or ever posted in it's subforum is called obsessed.
^ A lot of MOS fans are like that, sadly.
Thank god for 2014...even with ASM2, it still made up for the straight up mediocrity of 2013's CBMs.
Indeed. Thank god for the comedy film GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY that continued the trend of poorly thought out villains and "witty banter" and lackluster everything else in Marvel films not directed by Joss Whedon, THE WINTER SOLDIER's totally stupid plot by HYDRA and the continuation of the blink and you'll miss it relationship between Steve and Bucky that had no weight what so ever, and who could forget DAYS OF FUTURE PAST which once again butchered the source material ON TOP of repeating essentially the plot of X2 like FIRST CLASS did before it. Thank god nobody tried to make a film that in fact wasn't a paint by the numbers CBM in 2013 that also delivered on action and attempted to do something new with a character that many felt was not handled well his last time out on the big screen because his last film wallowed in nostalgia.
And please... Anyone even halfway familiar with the Hype that read it during the TDK Trilogy know that the Batboards, and many of those posters that, ahem, made their bones there on the Hype during that time, sadly, EARNED their reputation with pretentious, pedantic opinions so in line with the fanboy caricature... Sadly.![]()
You never realize how much of a joke MOS extremists are until you see them posting outside of their natural habitat.
Days of Future Past repeated the plot of X2? Thats news to me.
Any news yet? Did that O'Brien guy get the gig or did Leno steal the rug out from under him again?
No one knows.
some "Dylan O'Brien" kid
I wonder if one of Sawyer's fantasies about Henry Cavill also involves Ben Affleck.Starts with flashback scenes from the destruction of metropolis, including Bruce Wayne, narration by Bruce or Lex. We see some scenes of the protests against superman. Some snippets of Lex and Lois. Close on Clark reaction about the protests. Batmobile pursuiting some criminals at night. Quick shot of Alfred, then Bruce. Maybe a snippet of Diana. Ends with Bats and Supes going into each other, stops before the hit. Logo, replay.
