Wow! The NEW (Hype!) TiVo Can Do So Much! - Part 5

Chris Nolan's fight scenes play as an english man trying to make mexican food. Out of his goddamn element.

So Whedon has finally spoken publicly about Justice League and he doesn’t say much but what he does say is quite fascinating:

Someone from WB apparently wanted Wonder Woman in a batsuit in the final act.

Holy ****. Fire all of them immediately.

He was also asked where he thought the movie went wrong and had this to say:

I got these quotes from CBM.com if you want more context.

I still love the idea that JL’s demise was his fault in any way shape or form :funny: Definitely one of the craziest fan narratives out there, up there with the RT Disney conspiracy.

"I guess the movie was a little too much Justice League and not enough Avengers. That movie was just so damn good. You guys saw it right? [Laughs] I really made an effort with those two."

" but when you're working with people who thought it would be cool to have Gal [Gadot] wear a Batsuit in the final act, there's really only so much you can do"

"I guess the world of DC is better suited to TV"

Sad thing is it sounded fairly within reason.

I sorely miss the bonus features of old. The impression I got is that they no longer sell enough to warrant the cost. If that is the case, I hope they find other ways to monetize them. Who here wouldn't watch "The Story of the MCU" (for example) if it was presented as a documentary series on a streaming service?

I hate bonus features. Completely unnecessary.

Just how I feel about them. I rarely care for any of them and they add zero to the films experience for me. I don't need to be on the inside of the filmmaking process to appreciate the film more, nor do I find any of the features vaguely interesting. In fact the demystification actually takes away my enjoyment of the film.

...

So no one else is following the new rule when quoting these anymore? I want my goddamn money back.

I thought that rule only applied to the JL lounge.

There is this post from eight years ago.
But, not really. But who needs to improve on perfection? This here thread is simply a new vessel for the awesomeness that is...

Hype! TiVo!

What is Hype! TiVo? Well, newb, maybe you should do your research before asking such stupid questions! :cmad:

I should probably also ditch the red name if I'm sick of answering stupid questions... so, the Hype! TiVo is - :o - a thread where you post hilarious quotes posted by none other than our very own Hypesters! Eventually it'll become a book full of laughter to relive beloved lols!

Funny posts are funnier when accompanied by funny responses!

Here's an example... is it worthy for the first post? No, but it gives you an idea.
If they were all-white, Michael Jackson would buy them.
Michael Jackson's dead.
Hence the past tense.
but that was present tense
"Would" is present tense?

Now bring in the funny!

And here is a link to the original, classic TIVO thread.

Someone doesn't like extra features for DVD and Blu Ray. :waa:

I have something better.
I had pain in my upper back muscles all day. Time to get a massage.

Squeek, C Lee and reek have volunteered. Who do you choose?

I was thinking more of Ruth Fisher....

And now I thought of the possible username; Boose Fisher.

No I didn't.

Wait, I'm older. He should be giving ME a message. :p

Aziz massages are part of admin duty. The potential for that in future is the only reason Morg signed up.

This confirms what I've always believed about this website.

We love the torture. :p

... i dont know what you kinky bastards are up to... just... wash your hands.

Paying close attention to the fickle finger of fate.

You misread the rules.....the duty....of massages....for the admins feet.....fall to Aziz.

I'm sure they moved release dates up all the time for movies back during the cold war just to get those profits in before the nukes dropped.

I'm sure they moved release dates up all the time for movies back during the cold war just to get those profits in before the nukes dropped.

Yeah....the Cuban Missile Crisis got so many movies released early, theaters started price wars to get people to choose the one at their theater. Eventually they started paying us to come in and watch them.

Mandon's life philosophy was shattered pretty quickly in that thread.

It's still going on.

I was watching Bruce Wayne not Ben Affleck :cwink:

So you watch the actors in marvel films?

I think this one's been covered before....keep up :woot:

So yes then.

That'll be a no then.

So you don't watch the actors/directors, but the characters/movie? Then, why did you say "...if *icks be cheating, I ain't watching"?

I'm just saying I don't watch MCU and this is old ground we are covering, you know I don't. That's all.

The 'cheating' thing for me is a moral issue, I'm dead against it as a concept or practice, and I'll limit my viewing choices based on it, that covers that, it's not MCU specific.

Affleck cheated. So you’ll never watch BvS or Justice League again, I trust?

I have them, whether I watch them is another thing.

This really does seem to be bothering some people.

No, people are just wondering if you're consistent with your standards. You can't say you don't watch movies made by people who cheat or have cheated, and then watch a bunch of movies made by people who cheat or have cheated. Where is the line anyway? Does it have to be the director or the main star? What about the executive producer? Thousands of people work on movies, I bet you at least a couple hundred of those have done some weird stuff.

People are pointing out your hypocrisy. You cannot say "I don't watch movies with people who cheated" while supporting Affleck, who very publicly cheated. It's a double standard and shows hypocrisy.

But you're on the infinity war boards. Just for the discussion, I take it?

As for morality, I guess you have vowed to stop watching BvS then? Given that Affleck is a cheater.

Funnily enough, with what I've posted, it's been about 'helpful' content. Everything on there has been positive. How about you get off my back once in a while ? Kind Regards.

So you're watching Infinity War, then? So you do watch the MCU?

No, I'm not watching IW. With what I've posted, it's been about trying to helpful others. You know, being nice and friendly, like that Spider-man guy.

Because your reasoning appears to be disingenuous.

You say you won't watch films where the crew is mistreated, but you love TDK, and Christian Bale is notorious for treating people like dirt.

You say you won't watch cheaters, but as others have pointed out, Affleck was a cheater, and this was known before Justice League came out.

So, it doesn't seem like you really mean it; you seem willing to overlook such behavior if it's done by your "team".

Oh good, here's mr chip-in....

Forgive me for doubting your intentions, I'm just curious why waste your time there in a series you've stated you have no interest in?

...because I' trying to be helpful to those who care about MCU and the IW film. I appreciate it's important to some and so the information I've had, news or front covers of magazines etc. I see, I'm passing that information on. Simply trying to help and do my best.

Mandon, no offense, but at this stage you are making yourself look biased and hypocritical. Its why people are pulling you up on this.

Biased ? I like the DCEU way more than the the MCU, I hate the MCU, so yeah, if liking one thing over another makes me biased in my own rules and regulations then fine. Being hypocritical, fine I'll watch every cheat, bastard, ******** film of every morally repugnant ****** on both sides. Okay ?

How's about we just all put each other on ignore, like we all should have done, a long time ago.

Really?

This is what you posted in the Infinity War thread. For someone who is not watching Infinity War, you sure seem very concerned about the film's plot. Very strange.

The word is IF, is it not ?

No, it's your applying one set of rules for yourself to one franchise, and breaking them completely for another. That's what makes you look biased and hypocritical.

Mandon, this is self inflicted. When you share a viewpoint that is easily proven false, and you don't defend it, what do you expect? You can have whatever opinion you want, but the flip side is if you share your thoughts, you need to be ready to defend what you're saying. If you don't want to do that, then as mother always told me when I had nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all.

In case all of that is TL;DR it's basically this:
