Anyone think Disney didn't want this film coming out before Captain Marvel and Avengers 4?
Were they supposed to do something at NYCC? Wonder if that will still happen.

Because its that bad?Anyone think Disney didn't want this film coming out before Captain Marvel and Avengers 4?
Disney doesn't want this film coming out period.
As I said in the Keep Hope Alive thread, isn't June 7 just very shortly after Infinity War? Why would Disney allow DP to be released then?
Won't Disney fully own Fox by June? Why release it at all? And if they're going to release it in theatres, why not dump it sometime in August? Isn't Spider-Man only a month after DP's release date?
Maybe the trailer was simply released to counter the leaked version that came out days ago, but they never intended to actually show it now. But it's odd that, just after showing it, the release date is pushed back.
Weird seeing this 2 days after the trailer. At least in some people the trailer left a good impression, but this news kind of kill any of the hype that trailer could've brought.
To gain goodwill from Avengers 4A while back was that February was to give it the same release date as Deadpool and Black Panther. What's the excuse now?

I don't think so. Since many people think they're calling the shots behind the scenes, were they only able to call shots as of this week? Wouldn't they have been able to stop things a lot earlier? Surely they would've been able to see a cut of the film and decided to scrap it or not, right?

Then why did it get delayed again? When the whole point was "We're going to release it same time as Black Panther and Deadpool!
It's so stupid. I'm sure they knew or at least had an idea that they were shifting these dates for some time now, why let the promo get started?
The Phoenix Saga is too valuable for Disney to have someone else try a second attempt and with such mixed results... I wouldn't blame them.Only thing that makes sense is that they were made to push it to June by Disney, via back channeling.
That was a weird decision. Hard to understand what's going on.
I wasn't hyped about the movie, but I want this franchise to be over as soon as possible, so I certainly don't like this news.
If Feige is overseeing the transition of Marvel properties from Fox to Disney... I would assume he would be able to take a look at the current working production of the film. If he didn't like it... he could have put his foot down.A lot of people do and that's fine, which is why it doesn't make sense to me that it just wouldn't be outright canned/shelved if Disney were indeed calling the shots like many seem to think.
Exactly, Fiege prolly has big plans for his X-Men, why would he compromise them by having this monstrosity get released and poison the brand. The Phoenix Saga is too valuable for Disney to have someone else try a second attempt and with such mixed results... I wouldn't blame them.
