I have to give props to the ppl involved for really making Jean the face of the movie. I know it's a low bar but still.

I'm seeing a lot of good stuff...

... but I'm also starting to think I'm seeing too much haha. I was always going to see this movie and I was always going to be excited, but kudos to the marketing for making me a little less ambivalent.
I was looking away during the Claremont video. I don't want to see anymore.

This is EPIC in true Kinberg fashion. This will really reach a zenith in box office for X-men movies and even give Marvel movies a challenge. Now that people have had enough of time travel and stones and space, time to adopt a more thorough street clothes style grounded approach. People need this after the double whammy of CM and EG and Dark PhoeniX will be the antidote!

The action choreography and usage of special effects look very precise and expert as opposed to some mass giant battle field chaos.

This movie looks bad, but the action doesn't look any worse than the truly terrible action in Captain Marvel.

What little we've been shown thus far looks promising, but I question Fox's judgment in opting to release it amid such stiff box-office competition. Toy Story 4 in particular is tracking for a huge opening weekend.

This reminds me I LOVE that it seems like the X-Men fight in civilian clothes for the final battle.

It doesnt really matter now when it comes out, whether Feb or June or Nov, there always arguments can be made for and against it. If people really want to watch it then they will come in regardless of what month it is out

Looks bad as in the visuals? The only thing thats disappointed me so far is how Genosha looks like a scrapyard but other than that the visual style looks pretty in a ''dark'' way

Yes, but when presented with another film you want to see even more, you generally watch that one instead. And with Toy Story 4 poised to make well over $100 million in its opening weekend, the demand for it is clearly high. Plus, Dark Phoenix has Men in Black International to contend with first. In short, the film won't have more than a week's time to thrive at the box office. Sure, hardcore fans will come out to support it, but they're a drop in the bucket compared to the general audience who make up the vast majority of ticket sales.

All in all, it's just a shame really as, contrary to popular opinion, DP looks to be well-made. Given less competition, it would've no doubt been in a better position to succeed than it's in now. That said, if word of mouth is really good, we can expect moderately strong legs. We shall see.
