Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

two weeks reshoots in 7 weeks.

No, what he says word for word is “So I know I haven’t been home long but I am leaving for about 7 weeks to go shoot X-Men reshoots in Montreal.”

Regardless, my previous post explains why his role in this takes longer and will mostly take place off set.

I also saw the video Jesse Le Flair posted but the obvious is that he’s a stunt performer, their job takes much longer than the actors. He will likely be learning, practicing and mastering his new choreography for 2-3 weeks before they head before the cameras as they’re beefing up the 3rd act action. That’s literally their life. Also, he’s said he’s gone for 7 weeks because of reshoots not doing reshoots for 7 weeks. That confirms nothing really but solidified the 2 week reshoots. Again, span vs duration.

It takes some complicated mental gymnastics to believe that seven weeks of reshoots really means two weeks.

It also takes some mental gymnastics to have heard “seven weeks of reshoots” rather than “for seven weeks for reshoots” but whatever. It took me two seconds to type up the words as they came out of his mouth in the video, verbatim.

Also as I’m in my mid twenties, outwardly social and involved and live right in LA so I do know a thing or two through people in his industry including its choreography, planning, rehearsal and so on. His job takes longer.

Because that's the information about the film reveal thus far in the First Look coming from an official source, which is slightly longer (the quote is just the IMDb version). That's why I said thus far before the quote. You have to READ Endzo....

No. You sold it as the synopsis by calling it the synopsis.

None of that is the synopsis.

Maybe they handwrote the note about the amount of weeks and the 2 looked like a 7 when they read it again?

They don't shoot everything all at once. The reshoots are likely spread out. They're shooting additional scenes, but they're also adding onto existing shots. Avengers 4 reshoots start early September through October. That doesn't necessarily mean Disney/Marvel is shooting for two full months straight for that movie. The reshoots usually only add up to a few weeks of actual shooting. It take time to set things up, to make sure shots align with what was previously shot if attached to an existing scene, to give cast time to prep for their scenes, etc.

I really hope this is it.

all sounds good and all.....

but these arent normal reshoots, they are fixing the damm movie! :funny:

is it that hard to understand this? this is not the typical hollywood reshoots, movie had issues and Fox delayed it and they are fixing the third act, reported by THR and other sites. So no, it cant be just 2 weeks, yikes :funny:

stop this damage control non sense. Do yourself a favor lol. none buys it.

Do you know what reshoot means and why are you playing spin doctor just in the negative sense? Reshoots and cuts of films are always changing to what works best. Fiege even just admitted this about Marvel films. Are you going to find a way to make everything about this movie bad?

I don't claim to know the extent of the re-shoots but we do know the reason for the delay was because of scheduling not the reshoots themselves. Sophie Turner was filming Game of Thrones all spring/summer and Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy are filming IT 2, so they couldn't get everyone needed together until fall. If scheduling wasn't an issue I'd imagine these would have been done months ago.

Chastain and McAvoy are currently filming rather than were, but Sophie being free is likely why they’re happening now than later when they will be completely full as her Phoenix role has intricate CGI as seen in the released promo.

Nah, he thinks Fox is buying Collider reporters. He's a nut.

Fox's November/Fall tentpole film missing its release date sounds like it should be a big deal no?

So whose fault was it that the reshoots and actors' varying schedules and availabilities weren't factored in to the film's post production?

We need a full trailer now. It gets so boring here -.-'

This, or anything really. At this point another picture from this movie would be cool. I am actually surprised there is still some activity in here, since we haven't gotten anything in months.

While I normally see your points I have to disagree with you there. I don’t see how sharing a date with a Disney made Christmas movie (Nutcracker) at the start of the holiday season is better than a date that has been proven to been wildly successful for all comic book movies to have released within the same date range is a downgrade. If I had to make the original date happen or deface the alternative, I would have ran into troublesome scheduling issues conveniently happen also! Granted the quality of those movies also had a lot to do with it, i’ll judge the same for Dark Phoenix when I see it, or something from t at the very least.

Fall/Winter 18 is already crowded though DP would have been able to beat the bulk of them out the gates. Aquaman, Bumblebee and Alita are all coming out on the same day!

Hopefully whether the reshoots last 3 days or 5 months we’ll start getting pictures or on site scoop on this, come on Fox go out in a blaze of whatever but hype this thing a bit again.

Goes against the supposed narrative that there is no hype for this film...

There is more activity on here than Aquaman board which comes out in 2 months

4 months.

The only reason it has activity it's because o the merger and the controversy over the director. That's not hype, hat's polarity and controversy. Not a healthy way of discussion.

There is more hype about MCU X-men which hasn't even been announced officially than this movie which has pictures, confirmed cast and plot....

The X-men boards have always been busy (relatively-speaking, compared to other franchises) and it’s always had the same veterans people posting on them with or without a movie coming out. Noobs will come and go.

There’s renewed hope for many with the Disney buyout, and so the discussion inevitably goes there.

Even without the merger talks, there would still be discussions on here because of the polarity of the fandom, most thinking Kinberg will drop the ball, some hopeful, some on the fence. We are just passionate X-men fans.

23 days until The Predator (Dark Phoenix trailer?)

Time ain’t moving fast enough for that, lol.

no lies detected.

You must have a sucky stunt team if you fly out to set for 5 weeks of practice for only 2 weeks of reshoots.
