One of my main wishes for this movie was to finally acknowledge or show more of that sisterhood between jean and Storm that we only saw small bits of in X2.

X3s Storm’s behavior was rooted in Halle’s relationship with Famke becoming more feudal and Halle was a huge part in why Ratner came into play.

This movie doesn’t have that, so for her to completely switch is boggling for me.

Sidenote, Storm and Quicksilver are the only two that look to have aged and that’s largely due to their wardrobing.

Halle really should have gotten more importance not Xactly because she's Halle but the character she was playing. Anyway the other actress playing Storm feels like an Xtra due to her lack of screen presence and spark, which Halle had when she was playing the role.

We saw that look in the FFINO hostage video.

I was actually quite impressed with that video. Those two knew they had made one of the worst comic book films of all time. They had just released an underwhelming teaser trailer. They had also experienced intense criticism for the atrocious looking costumes. Also, the rumors of Trank destroying property was in the news. Inspite of this pressure they kept their crap together during this interview.

I also, give props to the cast for keeping it together. They showed up at comic con with horrible new footage to show and then did a bizzare photo shoot just weeks before the film released.

Actually, he looked fine when he did the first one. Aou was where he looked absolutely miserable for not havin more freedom. But the film was still okay because mcu has feige and fox has no such figure. Whos gonna save dark phoenix? Hutch parker? LSD?

Those two never tried to play as screenwriter or director before so no.

Though they could at least tried hiring another person other than Kinberg. That dude just gets so many chances, its mind boggling. Anyway I say good riddance.

Case in point Peter Jackson in the editing room for LOTR. He looked so exhausted.

I've always though Halle was horrible for the role of Storm. She didn't have the look (Storm is supposed to look like a goddess) and she didn't have the presence (when Storm enters a room, everyone shuts up). Halle's a decent actor, but this role just was not meant for her. On the silver lining, I think she was the one who suggested Jackman for Logan, so that's one good thing.

I don't think that's how Fox envisages the character of Storm anyway. I mean, look at the casting and screentime and number of lines of dialogue for Alexandra Shipp.

Shipp is clearly trying hard in the role - learning that accent etc - but it doesn't feel like Fox has any intention for the character to be a meaningful part of the X-Men. .

I like how right away Frosty shills for them and states every movie does reshoots but guy not every movie gets pushed back 2x and possible shelved completely after "improving" the film

Collider didn't do themselves any favour by seeming to speak on behalf of the studio in that way and defending/explaining the reshoots. It didn't come across as a very objective interview.

At least Frosty asked who Chastain is playing. We know it's not Mastermind but is some kind of amalgam of two other existing characters, if i recall the answer correctly.

Question: Who's the Chinese movie star that told her followers to view the trailer, to the tune of 44 Million views on Day 1 in China alone?

More importantly: Why did she do that (ie. what was in it for her)? This seems very random.

Follow up rhetorical question: Why wouldn't Fox, or any studio for that matter, get said Chinese movie star to tell her followers to pay to see the movie?

Anyway if they really wanted the film to go big in China, they could have just brought back Fan Bingbing and develop Blink. Apocalypse wasnt even in China 's top ten highest grossing films of 2016 as it only placed at 15th. Yet dofp was the 6th for 2014.
