Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

It’s kind of amusing to see so many people calling Kinberg a liar, while simultaneously almost immediately taking everything he says about Mystique, or anything else about this film at face value.
Oh wait, you're the same poster who was saying Kinberg is killing off Mystique so she can be resurrected as evil Mystique and now I can't stop laughing.

Kinberg is really proving to be quite the emerging master filmmaker. He fixed New Mutants and now the word on DP is that it is really good. I am really excited to see this end on a final good note before Kinberg carries on his talents at MCU X-men
He fixed New Mutants?
Fixed it how?

I love this Universe, (i do prefere this intense, drama based saga tone versus family comedic marvel movies).Im looking forward to see the movie, and bothers me knowing i have to wait such a long time to see again these characters and actors i love.

I think that releasing it after Avengers will hurt it unfortnatly! The movie will be massive and DP is smaller in scope, more intimist!

I just wish everyone put aside the past and the future, and go see the movie for what it is. An adventure, a drama, a version of the comic saga, with great performances and, i hope, intense and charismatic !

Newsflash you aint seeing these actors as these characters again. Also Kinberg hurt this flick far more than Avengers will.

it will be done in less than two months. Well there's still the bluray/dvd release to look forward to, for the fans.

I would like to remind everyone......Comment on the movie and the people involved in making it....DO NOT comment on other posters.

He’s a liar. Always has been. Even when the movie is as good as FC, DoFP or LOGAN, he still goes around the press tour lying through his teeth and just saying what he thinks people want to here.

Dark Phoenix so far is the worst of it all. Maybe cause he’s writer producer AND director and there is nobody checking him. Since day one he’s just been saying things he thinks we want to here. It’s like The Avengers. It’s like Guardians. It’s like Thor Ragnorok. It’s like LOGAN. It’s a different kind of X-Men movie! It’s cosmic! It’s grounded! It has real emotional stakes! It’s unexpected.

Yet all the trailers look like any other X-Men film. Logan really set itself apart with its trailers. THAT showed a different X-Men film.
The best lie was that he worked on X2 with Hutch.

One of the reasons that hurt Shazams box office has been releasing so soon before Endgame with people not bothering to go because they are saving up or have already spent money for Avengers presale tickets. Having Dark Phoenix release after will be better for its box office.

Or people were simply not that interested in a Shazam! film.

Apocalypse was released weeks after Civil War, it had no bearing to its boX office performance. Dark PhoeniX would likely underperform.

Shazam had very positive critic reviews and early screening word of mouth. Trailers were received well and had good will from the last DCEU movie but still didn't make as much as hoped opening weekend (even though tracking had it on par). Endgame tickets release hype around the same time has to be a contributory reason.

Apocalypses marketing was medicore to bad with unimpressive trailers and bad press screening

And Dark PhoeniX's marketing isnt great either. I don't know why you are bringing up Shazam! a film that was made under $100 million, that was never gonna perform as big as the Avengers especially its part of a franchise with a mixed track record. Shazam!'s "shortcoming" at the box office will have no bearing with Dark Phoenix's box office performance. They aren't competing with each other in the first place and aren't under the same franchise.

It was brought up earlier that Dark Phoenix should have been released before Avengers because it would have made more money. Just pointed out the Shazam example and how it probably wouldn't have and releasing it after is likely to give it a bigger box office return
