Dark Phoenix X-Men: Dark Phoenix News and Speculation Thread - - - - - - Part 15

Its strange!
I have the feeling i saw the whole movie without seeing anything.

The fact that every footage being the same over and over seems like they dont have much more to show..

I love this saga, i love the fact that it doenst try to be like every epic superhero blockbuster, i mean, being big keeping it small, but i confess i was expecting something diferent since the beginning. the movie looks small compared to the inital scope!

It doenst mean i dont like what i saw until now.. just expecting something more..more!

nevertheless i love these actors, the usual tone, and i will definitely see it..
and i will miss the mutants ...too long for them to come back!

I have this same feeling
they are not showing anything new
it seems that the marketing of the movie has entered the replay mode, it is basically more of the same with a new snippet of the movie, really passes the view that the movie has nothing big or exciting to show, what they are showing is good but It's time to show something different to the audience.

When magneto says “the girl dies” is he talking about Jean? I hope not cuz that is just horrible writing. He’s known her (according to the timeline the writers created) for like 10-15 years? Who calls someone “the girl” after all that time?

This is official from cinemas of China
AMC list the duration of the feature film as 113 minutes, a few minutes shy of 2 hours. Now, they could pull down the current runtime at any time as things get updated just like they did with Endgame. Other countries have different runtime lengths due to the distribution agent, adding of logos and other credits. The counting of frames are also different in other countries. The movie hasn't been rated yet according to the latest advertisements but with China you have some possible additional editing due to censorship. Because it hasn't been rated, there's not yet a final cut of the movie. Unrated material usually contains content that differs from the theatrical release, so the runtime could change by the time theaters receive the theatrical cut.

Films tend to get rated very near their release to ensure they have the final complete version. Endgame's marketing video material didn't start showing the rating until sixteen days before it's L.A. premiere. So I suspect we won't start seeing a rating for Dark Phoenix until 2 weeks from now where we will have a more official runtime number.

Thats more of a nitpick then horrible writing. without context you are judging a line a random line of dialogue, but then we also have to remember this is magneto talk too. he would undermine someone younger then him by referring to them as girl or boy.

Magneto’s known of Jean. Yes, they worked together to defeat Apocalypse. They spent some time together, too, rebuilding the mansion. Beyond that? For all we know they didn’t even say a word to one another in the ten years that followed. He addresses her by name when she seeks his help on Genosha, though. It makes sense, psychologically, that he’s trying to distance himself from the girl he once knew when he decides that he has to kill her; she’s not that same person anymore.

Im getting the same impression. Feels to me like the movie will be cut into 4 main spots which we keep seeing over again in the promo stuff.

The opening space mission
The neighbourhood fight scene
Genosha attack
Final train battle

Which likely means she’s Cassandra Nova and the aliens the mummudrai

But then there’s this, which I don’t believe for a second is happening in this film:

Lol. Marvel/Disney aren't gonna release merchandises for Dark PhoeniX.

And Charlotte Xavier, lmao. Kinberg cannot be that bad.

Funko has cornered the market on a lot of IPs. They're like the beanie babies of our times. But we've never seen X-men movie Funko POP!'s, not for X-men: Apocalypse and not even for the equally annoyingly ubiquitous (speaking of POP!s and Beanie Babies) Ryan Reynold Deadpool flicks. Yes we've seen Mohawked Storm or Buzzcut Negasonic or Bob Ross Deadpool released around the same time with their movies but they were all wearing their comic book costumes.

Plus Charlotte sounds like a bad fanfic. There's a Kinberg joke in there but people seem to be too sensitive when it comes to that guy. We're not allowed to point out his lies, we're not allowed to quote him, we're not allowed to bring up his bad movies.

"the male show"

perfect visual representation of how this franchise handled the x-men in its 19 years.
Dominio, NTW, Jean, Mystique, Moira and Laura in the last three movies don't count, I guess? Plus, characters from Legion and The Gifted as well. Jean is the main character of this movie and the main antagonist is a woman as well. New Mutants is a mostly female team as well, even if the movie doesn't end up happening. I would be the last person on earth to say the franchise doesn't have problems, like the way they treated Storm, but that's a bit much.
