Only next time Jean will go flying in the air whilst Conchita Wurst's "Rise like a phoenix" plays.

New Kinberg Dark Phoenix versión 2030

Now they blaming this bomb on the release date cause Cameron made them move apparently lol
never seen so many excuses for a movie being terrible but none of these publications say what we know is KINBERG WAS THE ISSUE from the word go

Box Office experts like Deadline are also saying that putting it in June was a death sentence. Many people on here including EnDz0n3 has been saying it was a bad idea for months. This movie was released in less theaters because of it.

Saying the release date wasn’t a major factor is really silly when Secret Life of Pets 2(a sequel to a well-received film that made 800+ million) is also underperforming and barely making more than Dark Phoenix. It is a very competitive summer this year. Godzilla 2 underperformed as well and MIB International is also predicted to underperform. Its a bloodbath out there.

THIS time he will learn from his mistakes MAYBE? Should be the tagline

Kinberg thinks he's stuck in Groundhog Day. He keeps remaking the same film over and over. Even when he commits career suicide, he still rises from the ashes like a Phoenix at 6.00 am.

I love Buffy, but found the Dark Willow arc massively underwhelming. Still better than either take on the Phoenix though.

no matter the time of year the movie would have been torched by critics and the word of mouth would have been the same "stay home it's not worth your time"

How much would a different release date really have changed the box office? Maybe a few million more but the story still would have been the same. The first trailer looked just as boring.

If they put out this rushed and far too short version? Yeah, the reception would have been the same.

But they probably would had put out the 2+ hour version that Icekid and Alessia saw, which I see getting significantly better(not great) reception. I think they shortened it to get more screenings in the packed summer.

yeah cause we didn't just see a 3hr movie smash summer records that short run time to fit more screens is such a cop out and it's insulting

Oh NOW you believe me? NOW you deem my posts as quotable?

Methinks you’re learning the wrong lessons here.

That’s not the biggest takeaway from any of my posts. The problem with Dark Phoenix starts with the letter Simon and ends with the letter Kinberg. It rhymes with hack.

The very fact that you still think there’s a good cut of this movie hiding away somewhere, and if only it was released on a better month tells me you were always going to excuse the above problem no matter what.

I do think there is probably a BETTER version hiding away, to be honest.

It feels like it was hacked to shreds for more screenings per day, like X3 was. Fox seems to do this for anything that is not tracking well.

I'd be okay with getting an extended cut on the Blu-ray.

The fact this film felt chopped and rushed is likely down to editing.

But, yes, a lot of the main problems seem to stem from creative choices. Depends if there is more 'fleshing out' of Chastain and her aliens to be found on the cutting room floor.

Of course, a longer version won't improve the dodgy dialogue, JLaw's acting or a lot of other stuff, but it would make it feel like it was in less of a rush.

Everything starting from the party on the mansion estate feels like it's too fast.

Some of it is down to script short-cuts that can't be improved ('Jean's been spotted in New York' says Selene, just after Magneto explains they are cut off from the outside world and unaware of what happened to Mystique).

But in other cases it just felt too chopped up, and they had a good editor on the film and a good first 30 mins, so I feel it was cut to pieces later on...

I didn’t even know about that cut until February. =/

There’s a good cut of this movie somewhere because two people (1) an SHH member, and (2) a Fox employee with a twitter account?

Is it so unbelievable that people like a given movie? BVS has its fans. Skwad has its fans. Heck, even on this thread, THIS MOVIE WITH THIS CUT HAS ITS FANS.

There's a good cut of every bad movie out there. Some in people's heads. Doesn't mean they are good.
