I think we can pretty much agree based on Information we should Ignore
The Last Stand and consider First Class prequel to X-Men and X2.

I know this has been the general assumption but I never realized that this would make it a trilogy within a trilogy. FC-X1-X2 and X1-X:LS

People forget the first X-Men was largely keep under wraps till first teaser
was shown five months before premiere.when Bryan Singer Involved he can keep things under wraps as X2 showed.X-Men Is my favorate comic book
so this Is my most anticaped 2011 release.

They could very easily do what Star Trek did but use prequel Instead of
alternate timeline to create excitement.And use only the 2 best X-Men films to connect to.

There could be some Similarties to first 2 films.

Sebsastan Shaw as villian similar to Magneto to X-Men(although he has no Intrest in perserving mutants just Seizing power) Emma Frost as right hand(Similar to Mystique was with Magneto) and Riptide and Azarel as henchman9Similar to what Sabretooth and Toad was In X-Men)

Mystique,Beast,Havoc,Darwin and Female Angel as X-Men In first class with
Xavier could be similar to Cyclops,Jean,Storm,and Wolverine In X-Men.

I remember following the filming of X-Men when I was 14, I believe the first images released were sketches of Mystique ..

It is dated Jan 2000 and X1 came out July 2000 which was 7 months away. We are now 6 months away from First Class, we should be getting something soon?

I guess if Xavier and Magneto have a falling out in this movie, it might contradict what was seen previously when they were still partners upon discovering Jean Grey.

Could they still keep the movie but altered the story that the situation was put in Jean's head, rather than what actually happened ?

If they continue with X4 then Emma could still be the antagonist with Segourney Weaver in the role and ignored the cure part altogether assuming everyone for their power back !

I dont believe they will reboot completely the franchise, because Matthew Vaugh says on a old interview talking about it, and he say "FC will be the prequel for the 3 X-men movies".What can be done here is a soft links with "the future" in sense of actions of this film refelcts of tomorrow.If Xavier realy becke paraplecig in this film, matve the jean grey meeting happen in a time between the happens of this film. But for now, the awnser of our questions will come June 3.

Wanting and expecting are two different things. I wanted it to be a fresh start for our new actors but I expect Fox to not completely reboot a successful franchise.

Well, JP is hatin' on Halle and viewing the film through that perspective. Just look back at previous posts. I don't just sit here making this stuff up.

I for one always wanted a prequel not a reboot.I am really sick of Hollywood with franchises taking easy way and just ignoring things even when not needed(See Casino Royale and the upcoming Man of steel.You can not call Die Another Day and Superman
Returns bombs no matter what you think of the quailty of the films) and I don't mind throwing out the Last Stand and Wolverine(with Is what Bryan Singer did with Superman
Returns ignoring Superman III and IV) In official film contunity as long as X-men and X2
are still In contunity(although now In official film contunity we probally will never get the phoenix story.Singer would have done It better and If a SInger directed post X2 film would be made very doudtful they would do better version of the story)

Sometime In January we should get something going by how they rolled out things with the first X-Men.

And I don't like the idea of them throwing out the continuity of X-Men: The Last Stand, or X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Even if those movies weren't as good, they still exist, and just completely ignoring them is bad form in my opinion. So hopefully whatever creative choices they took with this film, they don't just completely ignore what happened in the previous movies.
