I think the last one you mentioned, Nell, will be how I watch the films from now on (After June!)

I don't know what you call a 5 movie series (3 = trilogy, 4 = quadrilogy, 5 = ???), but that's how I will view the films.

Though when I marathon them, depending on the plot of X-Men: First Class and how it connects, I may watch either X-Men: First Class or X-Men Origins: Wolverine instead of both, depending on my mood, since I really don't see those movies having much to do with each other since they are exploring completely separate origins.

I could be wrong, but isn't X-Men Origins: Wolverine pretty much a stand alone movie now? I thought is was pretty much being ignored by the new Wolverine movie, too. I thought I read somewhere here that it is pretty much on it's own now, might not have that quite right, though.

Yeah I think they want to distance themselves from Wolverine with The Wolverine. I bet it is something like HULK and TIH in that Wolverine is in Japan and his past is just referenced through some flashbacks or dialogue. It won't be a reboot and it won't be a direct sequel imo. I can see a lot of retconning.

Which is a good decision, maybe they can do the same with X-3 if they are going to go forward with X4 in the future.

Wanting and expecting are two different things. I wanted it to be a fresh start for our new actors but I expect Fox to not completely reboot a successful franchise.

That's the tricky thing, especially with a franchise that is still current (with The Wolverine about to enter production). The films have, so far, felt like part of one big canvas - despite what people might say about quality differences. They can be watched as one saga and, indeed, I have done so.

But I can understand someone new coming in (Singer/Goldman) and wanting to put their own ideas into the series. In particular, Singer will want to bring in ideas he always had in his mind.

This is the perennial problem with franchises that happen on an ad-hoc basis rather than being structured that way from the start (and LoTR and Potter have the advantage of a single literary source).

If anyone is to talk about how high and mighty someone is in this forum, you would be standing near the front of the line.

Yes, I realise that. But some of that is because I try to be serious and precise in the way I argue/debate, and also because I don't put up with nonsense.

when Magneto and Xavier had falling out and the Emma that was featured In Wolverine
both X-Men origins:Wolverine and X-Men the Last stand could still be viewed as part of series.It depends how fans want to watch the films.Of course If there ever Is a post X2 sequel directed by Bryan Singer(which Is a possibilty since he and Lauren Shuller Donner
have discussed a X4) that could further complecate the viewing but for now we don't ahve to worry about that when viewing the films.

Days of future past would make great film.Just as sole Wolverine In Japan stories are making great story for the Wolverine.Bryan Singer did great job with X2 with using X-Men God Loves Man Kills as starting point.However we defently wouldn't get all the cast
back.It would depend on who really wants to come back and how much they are asking.
I could see Hugh jackman back as Wolverine but not Halle Berry.While Anna Paquin has
exspresed willingness to play Rogue again I don't know If a blonde Rogue would work.She has changed appearance since she playing Rogue.Singer could have Xavier back as headmaster(although Patrik Stewart Is focusing more on theatre work these days he has exspessed willingness to play Xavier since last STand was released) and
Cyclops there,and Rogue(If used) back with powers without addressing them by filmmakers simplys saying this Is sequel to X2.Hopefully they would give Kitty Pryde a good role if they did a Days of Futrue past film(they would probally again recast since I doudt they would want to bring back anyone used In The Last Stand that wasn't already In X-Men and X2) and since Fox to keep X-Men rights will have to keep making

I think intresting follow X4 follow the venets years later of The Last Stand, because this filme ended with so many possibilities what to do.The Leech powers is very instable ,making sense not so magneto, but the other people who choice dont be more mutants taking back his powers. Try imagine the chances of the society about the back of mutant paranoia and how the new possibilities to face that.

I a, very curious about talk of X-Factor as film.I am guessing this would be the government sponsered X-team.If Second class Is the next film after The Wolverine
they could do some recasting.In Particular someone as Xavier who can be In between James Mcavory and Patrick Stewart.Second Class would probally show Xavier recruiting
Jean and Cyclops.

But, yes, Second Class isn't a good name as the phrase has other connotations.

The options for 'Second Class' are to feature the original five (thus rebooting the franchise) or continue with this being a prequel to the previous films.

I wouldn't mind keeping it in the 60's and lose the chance at have Scott, Jean or Storm if it means getting to keep McAvoy and Fassbender.

Though, if they did decide to se it 10-15 years into the future, Lucas Till would probably be the only problem as I think Hoult and Lawrence can still play their blue counterparts for a while.

They won't be using McAvoy and Fassbender then go back to Stewart and Ian then go back to McAvoy and Fassbender and on and on. So if this movie is a success, then we will see 'Second Class'. If this movie bombs, then we will see X4. But, we won't see both.

I agree though. The X-men trilogy was to much of a Wolvie fest. Hes big enough to carry his own movie, let him.

It's not as simple as First Class being a success. It's the type of success it is. There's a level of success that will prompt a Second Class, and a level of success that will indicate there is a desire for either a Second Class or a Second Class and an X4. Or something else entirely.

Second Class has a very distinct meaning that means everything in the world of mutants.
