Days of Future Past X-men First Class Sequels?

What should come next?

  • Nothing, it should lead into X1

  • Continue with McAvoy finding Jean, Scott etc

  • Continue but with the cast of characters they have now

  • It shouldn't continue at all, I won't like it >:(

Well idk... There seems to be so few black mutants out there. It's frustrating. But if they could do a younger black mutant who's actually apart of the team or something that would be cool. I'm just hoping there's a part I fit or something I could go for in the future. I loved this movie. Favorite character was Magneto.

I want Emma Frost as the main antagonist. Magneto could not handle her, so ask Charles for help.

Of course Magneto can. He has his (Shaw's) helmet and he's already proven himself more than capable of handling her in her diamond form.

After watching the first three seasons of the X-Men cartoon series, I really want to see Mr. Sinister to be in this sequel. He should be the next super villain of the X-Men movies.

I am pretty sure the sequel will be Brotherhood VS X-Men.

Now as for third film In This trilogy that Is still possable. What better way to Introduce teenage versions of Cyclops and Jean Grey In series than a film with Sinster as villain.
My thought would be second film first X-Men vs Brotherhood.Third film X-Men and Magneto forced to work together against a mutual threat.Who better than Sinster.

Yeah I think they have enough to work with and dont really need another villain yet. Should def wait for Sinister when Cycs back.

Actually its the opposite for me. I see the X-Men and Brotherhood being cordial to each other in the 2nd film and then in the 3rd film, they will go on war at each other and thats the point where Mystique will be a cold-hearted villain.

I really hope they bring the Phoenix Saga when the young Jean Grey finally joins the main cast. And I think Mr. Sinister would look bad-ass in live-action!

I think since Magneto already positioned himself with being against humanity and breaking into the CIA, Prof X and crew are going to have to fight against that kind of behavior. They cant vouch for those actions, there gonna have to stand up to him. The sides are already drawn. They might have to fight together against humans depending on if humanity takes the more violent approach.

I'm with X-Maniac. There's no way this sequel will be Brotherhood vs X-Men. The Brotherhood isn't "evil" yet; their biggest offense so far is breaking out Emma from the CIA. That doesn't exactly rank high on the X-Men priority list, especially since I doubt they killed anyone during the raid (they probably knocked out a few guards but I don't think Erik or Raven are at the kill-senselessly stage at this point). The sequel will likely be set up so that the Brotherhood become the main villains for the third movie... as in, something happens at the very end of XMFC2 that prompts the X-Men to rally against them for XMFC3. Such as Magneto being behind the JFK assassination.

But no, Magneto isn't evil yet. He's just on his way.

The Brotherhood isn't evil? Eh...its certainly getting there. Magneto never really saw himself as evil in the X-Men franchise.

But two of the Brotherhood's members were previously working for a man who wanted genocide and world domination, and they infiltrated the CIA and coldly murdered several people. Its current leader spent the last act of the film launching missles at various military forces. Not exactly on the side of the angels.

"The Humans have played their hand now we get ready to play ours." Magneto will fight against humanity in FC2. I can pretty much promise that from how the film ended. The X Men will not support/stand around letting him do that. Magneto is a full on threat by the end of FC. He almost killed Moira, went completely against Charles in killing Shaw, agreed with Shaws points, almost nuked an entire fleet, took out three X Men with a flick of his wrist, broke into the CIA with ease and is joined by a few mutants who slaughtered the CIA. His intentions are not good. You dont put on a shiny new paint job on your helmet and get a new get up cause your gonna hang back for a movie. Magnetos ready to take on the world with his views, he will take down anyone who disagrees.

Mystique at this point is the only one I think you can argue. Azazel, Emma, Riptide and Angel are all clear villains in the movie who supported Shaw.

I think that the ending of First Class was done so that it could function as a standalone film in case there were no sequels, so it had to strongly set up Magneto as the future villain.

But as to what they're actually going to do with him in the sequel, well there was that Kinberg interview where he said that they haven't worked out yet whether they'll have Magneto as a full-on villain or not. Either way, I hope it's something interesting and not just a rerun of X1 or X2 with a younger fitter Magneto.

As for the Brotherhood, yeah there are some rotten eggs there, but I think that they're the kind of professional henchmen whose actions are set by the leader. If he tells them to go bake cookies for an orphanage, they will :)

I'd like the Brotherhood to do some real damage to the human world regardless of who the true villain of the movie is. Magneto should be drunk on power and play his hand.

Could be, I think the whole film was set up that way in case it wasnt a success. It worked as a prequel, stand alone and could lead into sequels. Safe bet by Fox. They will have to keep the continuity that was set up with Magneto at the end of FC regardless. Changing his views with were he left off would be a mistake.

Well, she can attack him when he's in the shower and have the helmet destroyed !

Is Emma Frost usually as quiet in the comics ? I mean i liked her in the movie but i thought she played a bigger role in the comics.

Emma's a lot more outspoken and overall much more better in the books.

I feel, in a way similar to Catwoman, Emma's "adaptable". She goes where things are exciting and easy, but also high and mighty. She knew her place with Shaw, and she wasn't going to tamper that. Part of it was probably fear of him; he did have some crazy power in the film. I'm assuming there'll be a lot of friction when she's with Magneto. She probably won't see him as an equal, let alone a leader. Being free of Shaw will probably allow that super diva personality to surface.

Isn't Havok Cyclops father in this movie universe?

Anyways, as long as Fassbender is on board they have my support.

Lead ups can be clunky. Instead of trying to tell a good story you're stuck playing connect the dots. See the SW prequels.

technically the X-Men/Brotherhood team up was done in X2, even though it was Mags & Mystique, but I do see what you're saying there could be a scene where Charles tells Eric, "look how muched we accomplished by working together," etc...I would finally like to see a mutant threat that Magneto himself is in fear off, think XMEvo when Apocalyspe came, Magneto only wants to be the dominant, surpeme ruler over mankind, so why not have him as a threat & have the X-Men/Brotherhood take him down? Plus the story can be set in Africa and they intro. Storm...

Nope.

According to the producers, they are related but not as father and son.

Thank God for that.

While I don't really mind the changes to comic book lore that we've seen on the screen so far, it would be going too far to alter family relationships/dynamics.

In the Ultimate books, Havok is the elder brother so that would be okay anyway. I think they should still be brothers. The age difference is fine - and that sort of age gap does happen in reality.

I wish there were a solid timeline for this franchise. I think we now have to accept it would make more sense for the 'not too distant future' to be in relation to the opening scene of X1 (ie not too far ahead from 1944) rather than not too far ahead from the time of the film's release (2000).

If we assume Magneto and Xavier were in their 60s in X1/X2/X3 and are in their late 20s/early 30s in First Class, then there is 30 years between First Class and X1, which would mean X1 is set in the 1990s.

Young Xavier is said to be aged 12 in that scene where he meets Mystique (said to be aged 10), and wasn't that in 1944? The Cuban missile crisis was in 1962, so Xavier would then be 30 and Mystique 28 (but ages slower). Erik's age in 1944 isn't stated but would be similar to Xavier.
