Sequels X-Men: First Class

Hope First Class will be a reboot... they are going to use a younger cast afterall.. wont it be the perfect time to reboot everything...

My first Class line up would be:

Scott
Emma
Jean
Forge
Storm
Beast (older by a few years than the rest and more of a student teacher)
Gambit ( a small part wher ehe opts to leave as he is a solo act)

Teachers:
Charles
Erik
McCoy

The Villain:
Mr Sinister and hint at Hellfire Club for FC2

^That's how I'd do it anyway

I don't see Forge being in it or Gambit as a student. I think it should be Scott, Jean, Emma, Beast, Storm with Wanda and Pietro. I'd like to see Moira play a role at the school as well.

(also I thought Fox told the guy to take that down as soon as I saw the retraction. Who would want to hack his twitter? Who knew he was on twitter?)

I actually like the idea of Forge being around

as for Gambit, I wouldn't mind a cameo, but, no, he shouldn't be a student, I'd imagin him being more like Logan for the from the first movie, he has a run with the x-men, maybe helps them out with a mission, but, doesn't stick around

That's okay, that's why I said it's what I'd do and like to see. Also, where did I ever say Gambit was a student? i just see him hanging around the mansion for a brief period time.

If XMFC cast is going to be a prequel the roster, for me, should be...
X-Men
Staff: small school, small staff
-Prof. X (English, Social Sciences & Combat classes)
-Moira McTaggert (Math, Science & Tech classes)
-Amelia Voght (The Arts/ love interest of Prof, reluctant mutant academy will work ends up leaving when she learns Prof X has been subtley manipulating her)
Students: smaller core group for better character development
-Cyclops
-Emma (leaves academy at the end of film, bcuz she feels she can't reach her full potential, really bcuz of jealousy, Jean: receives more psychic training fr/Prof. X(bcuz of secret evil alter ego) and attention from Scott... allude to joining Hellfire Club)
-Beast
-Jean grey (joins as her parents see actual students at the academy)

Brother Hood
Recruits:
-Quicksilver: leaves academy as Mystique promises she knows where his father is
-Scarlet Witch: "ditto"
-Toad: feels more connected to QS and has a crush on SW so tags along^
Members:
-Mystique: infiltrates academy and convinces some students to leave academy
-Magneto: Mags left inbetween the X3 flashback w/ young Jean and years b4 this film

Other kids who escaped at the end of Wolverine could be excluded from film by saying the paretns rather their children didn't attend a mutant academy (prejudice and fear... not farfetched)

Cameo: Storm appears at the end of the film she doesn't have to appear onscreen, at the end of the film just have Prof. X tell them that he picked up signs of a young mutant friend in Africa

Sequel:
-The X-Men face Shadow King in Africa, where they recruit Storm (replace Emma)
-Prof. X looses the use of his legs in the fight
-Banshee returns (cameo in XMO:W) as the new Arts teacher... to support his new family (allude to Syrin)

Thats a fairly good group of ideas javphonic, though I would cut Voght and you know Fox will include Storm (even if it'd be best if she waited for a potential sequel). I think Banshee should be on the original team making it: Emma, Cyclops, Jean, Beast and Banshee. I could see alot of banter between Hank and Banshee giving the film a bit of levity.

^thanks I figured about Storm, according to Marvel.com and wikipedia she's one of the most used X-Men, as she's appearanced in all X-Men media from every film, tv-series and most incarnation of the comics and video games...

I was considering keeping Banshee on for the 1st film, as there was a red head guy at the end of XMO:W, but then I thought of Voght and how it'd be an interesting contrast to see the Prof's kinda dark side, not so Mr. perfect and using his powers to manipulate Voght, but realizes his error when he looses her as part of his character development (comic storyline)... I was even thinking of transferring that story to Moira as the 2 did date... and include Banshee as the arts teacher.

Well, I doubt that'll happen unless they can find one that looks like a young Halle Berry.

I would like for First Class to be a reboot, I really ould. But I doubt it will happen. But I want it to happen.

quick type so may be typos...

Another X-Men: FC idea: reworked from my X4 + prev. XMFC ideas

X-Men: smaller core group for better character development
Teachers
--Prof. X
--Moira McTaggert
--Amelia Voght
Field team
--Cyclops
--White Queen (Emma Frost)
--Beast
--Marvel Girl (Jean grey)

Senator Kelly: He's just been elected and in the recent discovery of mutants he's trying vigorously to enforce the MRA's and Project Wideawake (Sentinels). The Senator is also working behind the scenes with Dr. Bolivar Trask to craft what is known as the Sentinel which is controlled by AI, Master Mold. Kelly plans to download the MRA's into the Sentinels upon launch, despite government disapproval; as it would be a violation of the terms of the MRA's. He thinks this is the best way to rid humanity of this growing threat. Kelly has been secretly sending a team of mutant hunters to capture young mutants and using them as test subjects for the sentinel prototypes.

Hellfire Club: Is dead set on attaining Jean Grey. They Strike a deal with the Senator... they'll partially fund the project counter,-which doesn't really interest the Senator-but really grabs his interest when he mentions knowing the location of a mutant school and in return they want amnesty and one student from the academy.

Dr. Trask: Is the creator of the Sentinels and the Master Mold program. Years prior he lost his wife and daughter in a mutant raid gone wild. (driving home from dinner or S/T and the car's hit yadda yadda) Thus it is his burning desire to rid the world of all mutants. The irony in this is that he's unaware that his son is a mutant. Finally after his son comes out to him, he decides to cancel the program just moments before the 1st prototype test is to be run. Dismissive Kelly initiates the prototype himself to remain on schedule. In an effort to stop it, Trasks son is killed and he realizes the very thing he created to protect what was left of his family would destroy his family.

While Trask sulks into a depression Kelly commands the production of the Sentinels and becomes familiar with its programming, as the president and Homeland Security branch ONE (Office of National Emergency) are coming for a demonstration. He sends a small team out to capture more mutants for the demonstration. Throw in some fun cameo mutants whom get captured.

Trask, guilt ridden, goes behind his back and begins putting together documents to to present to the president when they come for the prototype demonstration: saying the Sentinels won't be ready or meet the launch date, as there are programming errors which make them hazardous to both humans and mutants and shouldn't be put online. When Trask confronts him and tells him of his plans Kelly has him detained.

While the majority of employees are attending the demonstration Trask escapes long enough to contact Prof X. and explain what's going on... The X-Men rush to Sentinel base. By now the President has greenlit the project and has exited, Trask has been redetained and Kelly is aware of the rescue squad coming to stop him.

When they arrive, they're ambushed by the protoype, which has been programmed with all there is to know about each member (Cyclops, White Queen, Beast & Marvel Girl) After defeating the prototype and being severly wounded they find there are about 15 complete Sentinels and potentially hundreds in production. As some of the 15 come online the X-Men back into a enclosed area, and at the last second MG closes them in and releases a waves of incredible psychic and telekinetic energy, complete with glow and fiery eyes like in X2 and destroys the sentinels and machines used to produce them. The everyone, includeing the X-Men, (except Emma & Prof. X) though enclosed are also knocked unconscious. The HFC enter and carries off MG, he tries to stop her, but is stunned by Emma, who leaves with the group

In the end Emma's betrayal in a large part is because she feels 2nd best to Jean... better telepath and has the heart of the man she loves (Cyclops) and joins the HFC to prove she is a better telepath as she alluded Prof. X and lie to herself that she doesn't love Scott... also there should be hints that she joins the club secretly throughout the course of the film.

Professor X reveals that he was conscious that Emma had installed mental blocks within her mind, but assumed they weren't as important and focused heavily on Jean... a factor which he later regrets and reveals to Scott after exiting Cerebro in the final scene. Scott asks is he's found Jean, and he reveals no, but tells Scott they'll be taking a class trip and leave Jean's wherabouts to himself

Iceman as a rescuee would have to make him really young in this film, like a 5 or 6 year old. He wouldn't be more than a cameo I'd think (if they went that route)

I like your plot...it focuses on Kelly/Trask and the Government, which was not present in X1-X3, enough)

I like how Scott/Emma/Jean arc is played out and Jean's "phoenix" like display

I would Storm, mainly because of power display for the film

thats one of the reason why Singer didn't use the original 5 because it was hard to get a good story centered around them and they wanted a different display of power

I'm thinking they should have a mutant will super strength on the team...this would perfect to add in Thunderbird, his attitude is kind of wolverine-ish, and he could cause problems w/Scott seeing that since he' the strongest/fastest he should be the team leader

Cyclops,Emma,Beast,Jean,Thunderbird,Storm not a bad line up....

Thunderbird would be ok to have in the film, but I doubt we'll see him on film any time soon. I just don't think he'll work in the framework of the 'first class'.

oooooh yeeeeah... totally forgot about the whole teacher/student thing lol... scratch Iceman then

Thanks:yay:...

I read up on Thunderbird, and it would be both interesting to have him onscreen, but I don't think they'd use him as a main character because he's not one of the big name X-Men, but in ranks with my idea I think he could work as the defiant captive mutant who keeps dismantling the prototypes, which frustrates Kelly, but in the presidential demonstration the newest model leaves him severly wounded and left for dead after being returned to his cell... he could be the gruff smart-mouthed bad boy the audience'll either love/love to hate (kinda like a mini Wolverine but with Juggs screentime)

I was thinking for the sequel Cyclops could kinda clash with Storm as she's the new girl, but is already starting to command the team, which causes him to doubt himself... especially since he feels responsible for letting Jean get kidnapped in the previous storyline

the basic and rough premise would be that Emma is too weak to influence Jean/Phoenix, so the club brings her to Africa and asks Amahl Farouk (Shadow King) to make her loyal to the club... the X-Men fly to Africa to recruit Storm, but Scott picks up that Emma's there... Prof X comes in to track down HFC... in the final fight Jean vs. Emma showdonw... the X-Men and HFC battle while the Professor and Amahl Farouk are locked in a psychic battle on the astral plane, thus their bodies are comatose... in the squabble something is knocked over, maybe a tree or something and it crushes and destroys Amahl's body and cripples the Professor... thus Prof. X=wheelchair and Amahl trapped in the astral plane with no body to pay homage to the comics and keep continuity...

maybe in the next part Amahl could've gotten into Xavier's body first and left him there on the astral plane (explaining how he knew the body transfer in X3) When Magneto approaches him to use the school to become a recruitement vessel for Genosha he's unaware of the problems the two had and accepts---intro Magneto & Brotherhood/Acolytes

I like the fact of Scott & Storm clashing, hmm I think it should be over that Prof. X makes Storm field leader, after Scott has some "leadership" troubles...it would pay a home age to the Blue & Gold teams in the comics....I don't think the writers would go 4 shadow king/astral plane, to "out there" for realism...good ideas for Emma's character to evolve in xfc 1 & (maybe) 2

storm, beast, jean, and cyclops are all already confirmed by LSD... so im not sure why people are trying to sway from those...

That would be a great idea, he makes her team leader because Scott's still blames himself for Jean and is unsure of himself... I was thinking of the gold/blue team thing when I was writing about the Storm v. Cyke clash but then I was like making her assume the lead would be a bit forward on her part... that idea's much better

I was thinking about the realism factor, and was hesitant in putting that astral fight in there, but I think it'd be a great way to explain how he ends up in a wheelchair in X3 and pay homage to the comics... I think on film they don't necessarily have to really go into it, but just have that one scene where the X-Men approach the HFC hideout and Amahl senses him and attacks him mentally, the two engage each other the scene's main focus would be on the X-Men & HFC fighting, but cut every so often to the two actors on a basic white screen where they exchange mental blasts (similar to the rippling waves exerted by Arclight) and maybe some hand 2 hand... nothing heavy, just a few quick inter-shots, meanwhile the actors are periodically jolting and groaning in the physical world (like in Prof X. in X1 when Cerebro was poisoned or when Jean used it) maybe the fighting weakens the base and it collapses on them killing Amahl and crippling Xavier

Lauren Shulder Donner on First Class:

"Harry Potter is a bit of a role model for us, absolutely. But we want it to be like the recent, darker Potters. It should not be a kiddie movie - we're in the X-Men world so you can't suddenly change the tone. The First Class comics are really fun - they're funnier than any other comics I've read. Basically in each one the kids are fighting strange villains, sometimes it's aliens, sometimes it's monsters. I want to get a flavour of that world. Occasionally the kids will be in class, but more often they'll be off on adventures. Which Professor X isn't too happy about! There's nothing more interesting than a bad kid, and this is full of naughty children. Cyclops, for example - he's a tough kid that bobbed from foster home to foster home, until he ends up at the school and becomes the leader. There's also still an element of friction between the mutants and the outside world. Remember that this will be set way back before anyone knew mutants existed.Right now the script is not done -we're not where we want to be yet. We have to be careful that we don't tread on familiar territory, that people don't say, "Oh, I've seen that, been there." But (screenwriter) Josh Schwartz has a great young pulse and he's doing an amazing job bringing the characters to life. We want to make this a franchise, following these kids at the school, so the casting of the child actors will be all-important."

I'm not too thrilled that Fox is further along on a Wolverine sequel as opposed to other spin-offs, like First Class. They need to take a break from Wolverine, in my opinion. As for First Class being like the "darker" Potter movies, I don't buy it. It seems like with every recent X-Men release, one of the producers is quoted as saying the movie is going to be dark and serious when, in fact, they seem to be increasingly corny and silly. Couple Fox's idea of a "dark" tone with Donner's comments about the funniest comics she's read and naughty children, and I picture First Class going awry. I hope they know what they're doing.
