yawn.
singer's latest comments are interesting......
I still think this is the perfect chance to just "reboot" the whole franchise and start fresh. You can keep it in the same "realistic" universe as the other X-films, without actually tying into them. Kind of an "alternate" or "parallel" universe.....
For example, why should we care about young Cyclops in this movie, when we know he's going to turn into a "wuss" in the later X-movies, and dies in 10 seconds in X3?
Why should we care about the love relationship between Scott and Jean, when in the later X-movies, it was practically non-existent?
Why should we care about any character development if we already know the outcome ( and it's an outcome we don't like )?
This is the perfect chance to start fresh and anew....not retread the same old same old....
Singer really said all that?
Yeaaaah, noSinger really said all that?
From the latest interview, Singer said that Xavier and Magneto would be their 20's, so are we even going to see the "X-Team" (Cyclops, Jean, Beast, etc.)? Is the movie more about Xavier and Magneto than our favorite team of mutants?
well in wolverine cyclops looked 17(even tho the actor is 24) and James Marsden was 26 when x-1 came out back in 2000
so gambit is not like 40 lol
Sentinels don't have to be government-run. They could just have Trask's father or Scott Lang make a prototype in private and have the young X-Men fight against it like the epic fight in X-Men Evolution. The X-Men vs the very first Sentinel battle was fantastic since the X-Men had such a hard time taking down one Sentinel that you wonder how mutants could ever survive with a whole army of them in play.
At the end, either Trask could die or Professor X wipes the memories of all the humans involved of the existence of mutants. Magneto sees the Sentinel as the future of mutant hunting and he can't pretend that peace is going to work anymore. It would be a perfect catalyst to Professor X and Magneto going their seperate ways.
I think it would be an awful idea to have Xavier wiping folk's memories of the X-Men and/or the Sentinels at the end of a/every movie.
I don't think we'll get full sized Sentinels but I would like X-Men Evolution-size Sentinels. Bigger then a person but nowhere near as big as the comic sentinels.I do not think we will get the massive Sentinels in these movies, at best we will get human sized ones, which is what I think Singer was going to do in X2 before budget rescrictions nixed that idea.
so yeah, maybe small non-gov sentinels.
You must really not like the X-Men comics or cartoons then.
It's a very believable aspect of telepathy and it's used often but only if it's a small cluster of people that can be contained. I only wouldn't like it if they used it more then once.
I actually would imagine the Sentinel story occuring in a very isolated area. In the original story I believe Trask created Sentinels on his own and their base was in an isolated location I believe. All they would have to change in that story is to remove Trask announcing the creation of his Sentinels on television. Have the X-Men somehow stumble on his plans.
And like I said, perhaps the people involved simply get killed. Trask died in the original story. And even if they left out the part about Trask regretting his invention they could have Magneto slaughter the people involved, further distancing himself from Xavier.
Of course if we're following the X-Men Origins: Wolverine continuity then it doesn't have to be a private affair because sections of the government was apparently aware of mutants for some time. It's a stupid change, but it's there.
I don't think we'll get full sized Sentinels but I would like X-Men Evolution-size Sentinels. Bigger then a person but nowhere near as big as the comic sentinels.
Well, I'll tell you something, I do love both the X-Men and Wolverine comics, the 90s cartoon and the recent W and the XM, but I could not stand what I saw of XM Evolution, but anyway, I was thinking you meant something else, like Xavier using Cerebro on large sections of the population who witnessed large scale battles with the Sentinals.
. wonder how much younger they can make them look with just make up ?Late to the conversation... so I assume they are going to re-cast Xavier and Magneto with younger actors? Just because I can't see them using that de-aging FX the whole movie without killing the budget.
