I don't want Protues to cripple Xavier I want it to be lucifer with humans startin grace riot starting the strain that got mags to where he is. It makes sense more then Protues will ever do.

And will have lasting effect on both mags and Xavier on why the split between them happened. though if he were to use proteus in manipulating him..... hmmm.

Lucifer, the space alien villain? Yeah I doubt he will be showing up in the movies.

I doudt very seriously they will use lucifer.They could use any Villian to
cripple Xavier.I hope they don't go down the road of magneto causing It
after he snaps.It's very possable they might use a human villian similar to
Children of the atom to really show the break between them.Perhapes
magneto kills the main villian after Xavier Is crippled and Is saved by the
first X-Men team.

I wonder if Magneto will be the one to cripple Xavier. It happened in Ultimate X-Men and several elements from Ultimate X-Men popped up in these films. Of course, Ultimate Magneto was way more cruel then movie Magneto and it his relationship with Charles didn't feel as close. I can't imagine movie Magneto calling movie Professor X a stupid cripple.

It's interesting to read what Singer has in mind for X-Men: First Class, but I don't really think twentysomething Xavier & Magneto would work; they seemed too young and I don't think Xavier had started a school for mutants when he was in his 20's. I hope Singer knows what he's doing, but then again he did confessed that everything he knew about X-Men he got from the cartoons, not the comics, so that's a cause for concern.

well, Ryan Reynolds is doing it (deadpool/green lanter)... so, its not imposable for an actor to do both DC and Marvel characters, just saying

and with that said, who, what and why, would Routh be doing in his movie...
(I mean, if he was the prefect fit a character, it be one thing, but, I don't want him in just because)

I think it'd be completely random, and he would seem very out of place in this type of movieverse, too me

about the romantic element, Moira would be the logical character, since she appeared on X3.

I would love to see her and the backstory with Xavier, with a possible continuation on X4. (if its made, Moira has to appear there too)

Ach, the 90s cartoon is not *that* different from it's corresponding comicbook stories. Sure, there are some plot differences, and some aspects are toned down, but the characters and scenarios essentially remain the same. But, yeah, he should read some more of the books.

We know since X1 that this is another version of the x-men, so we have to accept it as what it is.

so... the important thing is that Bryan will make a solid movie, with a better script and tone.

Yeah, but if he hasn't read the first Lee/Kirby issues he really should. I would like to see that aspect of Cyclops that made him the most interesting character in those books, afraid of his power, and therefore afraid to get close to people, including, most importantly, Jean Grey.

Also, I would like them to ignore the fact we got that cameo of a human looking McCoy in X2, so that we can get the story of McCoy trying to cure his mutation as he has trouble finding shoes and gloves that fit, and only furthering it to the blue furball stage.

He read 'Man loves, God kills' for X2... Im sure he knows many arcs/sagas from the comics.

So this isnt a problem now for First class.

Im sure it will be a good movie. Cant wait, already. Finally a x-men movie after 2006.

i think your missing the point of what i ment though. I said a page a head of this though but i'll make it clear.
But your thinking about this in a limited way. unfortunitly very limited.

1)If they changed strykers history back ground from a religious nut with hate in him on a race to a soldier as they have shown already they can do the same for "Lucifer "and just make him a human that hates mutants and had a dealing in the concentration camps mags was in as when he was a kid as well. and he's back in his life to cause mags trouble for the school by starting "Race riots." That simple. first encounter with mags seeing humans hating mutants and it'll remind of his time a Jew and be persecuted

Seeing he had access to Nazi money in the comics (which mags stole after he was killed) it's not bad thinking on my part. there.

I'd rather they didn't change his(lucifer's) history. seeing comics are more accepted more then ever now.

But they can change this if your trying to keep things in that limited minded world your talking about. So I'm giving what i just suggest twice in three time in this thread as an alternative ether way this can work.

2)when Xavier made the X-Men it was to protect all humanity from any kind of threat as in all and anything that comes humanity way that was to do it harm.

It doesn't matter the origin of that evil they were made to protect all humanity from any kind of threats there are in existence and that'll help further their(x-men's) cause.

Cause humans seeing that will realise that they are here to help and live normal lives as they do. or At Least a decent number will or should. and that are things out that are worse then what certain people accuses mutants of being cause thing actually want to do all humanity harm.

3)It's freaking sci -fi. Lets stop limiting things especially when your seeing other sci -fi mediums getting away with it to those same average Jose fox claims to sell too. It's really lame now. seeing that same thing being pushed still.

What about a story setup similar to the Lost series? Example, first class can be about Cyclops after X3 (played by Marsden) with flashbacks to his first days with the xmen? This way we can also find out what really happened to Cyke.

As they've shown and will most likely have it done for them in an easy way in the main x-men group movies with the other characters. we won't see any thing on that til they finally get on X4.
But i'm guessing this has to succeed first. and I rather have some one else take over. actor wise marsden wasn't that into character of cyclops he was there for the pay check . though he did say before the movie came out on newsarama that cyclops wasn't dead.

Sure he didn't give Marsden enough to do in X1-X2 but it seemed like he was hoping to make up for that in X3 and even when he left he tried to make it up to Marsden by giving him a bigger role in Superman Returns.

Of course, I wouldn't mind a recast either but whats more important is that Cyclops comes back and has a chance to have his character redeemed.

The only problem I had was the time they said when Ryan Reynolds wanted to do dead pool. That to me was like when I saw a post on a forum I ran once with a poster that said having west lee snips do "bishop" and then the next the black character Luke cage and black panther as well.

All in the same universe. see I always knew that most if not all of the marvel universe would eventually come together for the big screen. I always saw that as a good plan by marvel to have that. and it will eventually happen. And seeing the same actor play many different roles of differnt characters with in the same universe bugs me.

Why should he or anyone have a monopoly on that many characters. in the same universe of all things. Now Ryan played Hannibal king. he basically made his face iconic in that role in the marvel movie verse. Then he wanted to be "dead pool" that did indeed in lot of ways bugged me a bit cause as i said it just felt wrong for one actor that had his / her face immortalized have a monopoly over two or more characters.

And he should let some other actors have that role and fame. he unlike us should actully be happy and satisfied he got his face immortalized for a marvel movie.

But Ryan Reynolds was also good for the role of dead pool,

so I caved and let it slide. just for just him only cause it was hard to think of other people at that time that would make a perfect dead pool. in a natural way. meh ,meh.

But to tell you the truth I hope that kind of trend doesn't happen with other actors.

Cause what are they gonna do when they want to do a new kind of secret wars or onslaught big event type movie and Hannibal king and dead pool have to be on the same screen and they want to show Ryan's real face as it naturally is for both or more characters.

I'm just saying it's good to have variety especially in actors/actresses with in the same universe.

Now as to him doing a dc movie and marvel movie. seeing that their both two different universe..... no that's doesn't bug me as much.

Their two different universes and there's no conflict of interest there of seeing the same face on every character on them and seeing them( those characters) having to say "why did my mom lie to me when I asked her if I had a twin?" "why?"

hmm lets hope so . though with the people singers working under you never know man. I wouldn't be surprised marsdend character role never moves. which will still have me miffed. among others. And he seems to be happy that he just getting any kind of work.

I certainly hope Bryan Singer does a 2 hour film.X2 Is the only X-Men film
not too short.

I could see the first 25-30 Minutes on the twentish Xavier and Magneto.
Then jumping to shortly after the events of Wolverine with the now fortish
Xavier brings Cyclops and other Mutants escaped from Stryker arriving at the
mansion.Fortish magneto Is there with other already recruited students
Jean Grey,Storm,and Beast among others.

Back In 2000 Bryan Singer stated Protues was one of his favorate X-Men
characters after become Involved with X-Men and exploring the Universe.
There Is a possiblty here of him as the villian.I could see Singer having
Moira bring him to school to get help for him perhapes against Magneto's
objections.Like In X-Men Children of the atom the first group of X-Men
gather to defeat him and save Xavier.The aftermath has Xavier crippled
and convinces Magneto he can no longer work with Xavier,and leave.

Maybe I've been outta the loop a while...is Singer doing the film?
