Most people don’t really give a damn about the original five, including those who advocate their inclusion in a reboot. Ask them about their ideas for sequels. It’s great. They almost always dump the original five for an entirely different line-up. It appears most just want to be able to say the movies are comic book “accurate.” In fact, I bet most people who advocate the original five have no interest in watching even two movies based on them, let alone more.

First off I would watch a movie with the original 5. I watched the 3 X movies and I was disapointed. Storm is supposed to be the leader of the blue team and cyclops is supposed to be the leader of the gold team.

They made Cyclops and storm both weak leaders in the first two films. Yes Storm showed some strength in X-3 and cyclops was reduced to a love-sick cry baby.

Ok if you want to use the blue and gold line ups thats fine. Yes lineups can be different as can back stories but stay true to the essence of the characters. They did it with Professor-X and Magneto why not do it for the rest of the characters in the franchise.

Singer dismissed the essence of the characters he should not do the same in the new X-films.

The only essence missing in the movies was with Storm, and I fully blame that on Halle, not Singer.

Mystique and Iceman also didn't have her usual essence from the comics, yet their differences in adapting wasn't negative.

Excuse my mis-statement it has been a while since I have read the 90s X-Men stories.

My point is Cyclops, in Singer's films, was not the consumate leader that could inspire unwaivering belief in his tactical prowess who totally believed in Xaviers dream of peaceful coexistence.

Storm did not come across as a strong intelligent and fearless fighter and field general who was at total ease and adept with her massive abilities.

Storm should not look like Halle I think Keke Palmer could be a good young storm and she can pull off the accent that Halle droped in the last two X films.

The kid in X-men Origins Wolverine would make a good Cyclops he has the look and the blond could work as Frost in the prequel.

I dont think Storm should be in First Class...

It's not that im a bit of a traditionalist - the original five and all that, it's just i've always felt that Storm's first appearance at the school would be long after the place was initially established.

From what i got of the first trilogy, it's apparent that Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Jason and Storm were possible near to the original mutants. But i've always figured that Storm came alot later maybe after Jason Styker.

The only reason i would say this is because you all know of storms history in the comics, well i've always considered that storm had a life before x-men, and thus didnt join the instatue at a young age. think about it she was considered a goddess in her home country because of her mutant ability. Most of xaviers students had only recently learnt of there powers before they came there.

If there was a original team, i would prefer it to be something like, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, White Queen, Banshee, Beast.... It would make better sense

Storm could easily go back to Africa after staying at Xavier's school for a few years.

Young Storm - In Africa, picked on, seen as a freak.
Young-teenage Storm - Picked up by Xavier, learns how to control powers, not a curse
Teen-mid 20's - Goes back to Africa to help after seeing it's in trouble, becomes a Goddess with new found powers and control.
20's - beginning of X1 - Returns to X-Men as they need her. Beast has left and they need a new teacher.

I like the fact that Storm will be in the first line-up. She's a great character and deserves more character development. She also adds a bit of diversity to the group too.
