Days of Future Past X-Men Origins: First Class--Post Your Casting Choices Here

I like Sean Bean for Magneto, but I would go with Stanley Tucci for Xavier.

Michael Fassbender for Magneto.

I like that suggestion a lot

Dominic West has a McKellen-like look about him. I think he'd also be quite good as Magneto.

And Ewan McGregor

wow!!! an America's Next Top Model alum for Storm??? hmm, that would be shocking for the general public and Tyra as well...LOL...but Yaya is a decent actress i.m.o, she was good as Whilemina's daughter on "Ugly Betty" and "Take the Lead"

I believe Vaugh and/or Fox would want an actress w/more credits, but if her read is good then, I would be happy if she is cast as Storm, but she does have a banging body and I believe she can pull off a decent Kenyan accent

oh and I 4got her stint on "All My Children" which she got good reviews for, so...hmm here's hoping...

I heard that Anna Paquin expressed interest in returning as Rogue in X-Men: First Class. The thing is, her character would be a toddler if Jean Grey and Scott are teenagers.

chanel iman for the role or store, even though she is a model, with the turn of models becoming actresses like mila jolkivch, she may be really excellent.

Chris Evans for Professor X and Ryan Reynolds for Magneto

I like that suggestion a lot
I can't take credit. FilmNerdJamie and Phil suggested it. But I could totally see it.

I saw her on Ugly Betty and looked her up. Never saw ANTM.

Well, it's official: Vaughn is directing and shooting starts, apparently, this summer with a release date summer 2011 (a bit optimistic there, Fox?)

Along with Fox's announcement, someone has come out and said this girl will be playing Storm...

Anyone heard of her or knows if she can act? The comments section on that site seem to be pretty negative about this casting. I don't know how reliable this info is(not very would be my guess) but it will be interesting to see who will be casted (which will have to be in the next few weeks).

So, it looks like they are not going with the comic book First Class line-up, but a movieverse line up. Which most likely would be...

Jean Grey
Cyclops
Beast
Storm
Professor X

I wouldn't be surprised if they threw Gambit in there as well mainly because 1) they need a character to be the "outsider/wild card" that Wolverine played in X1-3 2) he fits into the movieverse timeline 3) they probably use a version of his comic book origins (him helping/saving a younger Storm out, instead of a de-aged Storm, and no Nanny robot or Orphan Maker, thank God! That was one of CC's dumber plots)

I wouldn't be surprised to see Emma there as well, since they sort of set that up in Wolverine (if they include her, I hope they forget the crappy origin story they made for her in X Men Origins)

My money is on seeing Sentinels this time around (again, was sort of set up in X3)

Jason Issacs would be a bad ass magneto he has rocked the whitish hair before

Guys, I was on UGOcom and guess what I read!:

The higher ups have given the go ahead for Matthew Vaughn and Bryan Singer to bring their vision of the X-Men reboot/prequel X-Men First Class to life. What and who they're bringing to life is a different story.

With only a year before its release, the casting machine should be (or according to some rumors, already is) in full swing, looking for young faces to fill the roles. According to the press release announcing Vaughn as director and the 2011 release date, X-Men: First Class will showcase Charlves Xavier and Erik Lensherr (aka Professor X and Magneto) teaming up to take down a unknown threat.

The press release goes on to say that the two superhero powerhouses work together with a band of other familar (and a few unknown) mutants to take down evil. Who? In the recent comic run, the "First Class" was comprised of a young Beast, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman and Angel, the two latter who were seen as students in the previous films.

Will they all be replaced by younger versions of themselves? Probably. Wolverine seems unlikely - the man has his own franchise afterall. And if they're sticking to continuity, Angel and Iceman may get the boot, so throw Storm and Colossus in their for good measure. Fingers crossed for Machine Man!

Who do you want to see in the newest X-Men movie? Who do they need to bring back and who can they ditch?

Lets start this campaign right now: Mark Strong for Young Professor X!

That rumored actress for Storm is almost 30. Not exactly sure what the logic is here. Cast old enough actors that can pull off teens for one movie and then make the leap to X-4? That works... but so much for a prequel trilogy, which I never expected to begin with.

I heard that Anna Paquin expressed interest in returning as Rogue in X-Men: First Class. The thing is, her character would be a toddler if Jean Grey and Scott are teenagers.
WTF? This is supposed to be a prequel? Or is it supposed to be an alternate timeline that just takes place in a separate series?

It wouldn't make sense for Paquin to return unless they're intertwining flashbacks in it..

Welcome to the Hype, er- uh, I see you're having some trouble with your pic.. :p

I bet the girl that played young Jean back in 2006 could easily be old enough to play her again in this movie. Yeah, she only had like two lines, but it would be hella cool if they brought her back (Haley Ramm). She's 18 now, but she kinda has too young of a look..

HEy, everyone knows Meagan Good! I think she's OK. A lot of people recognize her from a lot of mid profile roles over time, so she has some star power, but as Storm, I think she's a decent choice. Especially age-wise. I would've preferred a taller actress with stronger features...

But, not so bad... The thing is, she would only be about 4-5 years younger IRL than Halle was when she appeared in X1 almost 10 years ago, so, I wonder if anyone would care about that.. :p
