Days of Future Past X-Men's Man of Steel - The Daniel Cudmore/Colossus Thread

I don't think he was wasted. It would have been nice if he said more than one word though.

I should say "drastically underused" instead of wasted. Just wouldve liked more of the big fella

Going by the picture above, I still wish they'd keep his hair area black when he armors up. It makes him look much better. Some color contrast for the eye are would go a long way I think as well.

Anyway, sorry to see him [BLACKOUT]go out like a punk getting wish-boned by 2 Sentinels[/BLACKOUT]. While I'm no X-Men fan, he's probably the character in the roster that I like the most.

Now every fan of each character will write ,,x-character" was wasted?
That was DOFP story, not X4. Movie would have to be 4h with so many characters, with enough screen time for each other to please all fans.

Just got back from the movie, Colossus severly disappointed. His mutant power seemed to be "getting punched in the face". And his final scene...oh boy.

I do agree that he should have been used a tad bit more or at least, put up more of a fight.
I don't think he was wasted, though. This film didn't really leave any room for character development in the future scenes, and nor should it have. It was a battle of survival. No need for a lot of dialogue. But again, I wish he put up more of a fight.

Colossus was a colossal disappointment ... I get it .. They couldn't have him develop into a major characters with lots of lines and development ... But he was totally under used and I I kinda feel cheated... Between him and iceman ... Those are my too favorites ...

He had an awesome team-up with Blink (my theatre cheered) [BLACKOUT]and was a co-teacher at the end[/BLACKOUT]. I think he did pretty well for himself.

Colossus has never been very important in the series. Even though he had a relatively big role in X3, he still barely hadlines. He's just filmic X-muscle. Hopefully, when the series is eventually completely rebooted (hopefully a long time from now), we'll see a proper Piotr Rasputin played by someone with some acting chops that could pull off the Russian powerhouse softy that Colossus is. For now, he's the muscle, so his parts in Days of Future Past were fine for me.

He was not wasted. But I wish he got more lines. His action moments that he got are way better than what he got in X3.

Yeah, I don't think it's matter of him not having a prominent role in the movie. It's also not about how many lines he got; Petey's not a big talker in any universe. I'm mostly upset about how little damage he did to the Sentinels and how much time he spent on his back.

But in the end he was
with Kitty
like in comics. Or at least it was a hint :woot:

Sure, I wish Colossus had more lines, but I thought he was great in the film and had more to do than X3 and the ending with him and Kitty how it should be was a nice send off.

I was wondering how come Kitty, Iceman and Colossus were with the other band of mutants at the start and not with Xavier, Storm, Magneto and Wolverine in the X-Jet?

Because when they land the jet and come out, Kitty says "professor..." and Bishop, Blink, Sunspot and Warpath didn't seem to know who they where?

I got the same vibe... Like Bishop, Blink, Warpath, and Sunspot don't seem to know who they are. But Bishop seems to know who Storm is. And Iceman goes up and hugs Storm like he really missed her and had not seen her in a while.

I was thinking the same thing... The "New" Future Recruits don't seem to know Professor X, Magneto, Wolverine or Storm. But Bishop acts like he knows Storm?

I wonder why they were divided up?

I think on the whole he filled the role I was expecting him to. Anyone expecting story development for him were in cloud cuckoo land. He's a background character. I would have liked to see him owning it up a bit more considering what a powerhouse he's supposed to be, though.

Side-note, his final death scene felt..... comical.

Is it just me or were the effects for Colussus not so amazing? I'm thinking they barely looked like they had improved since X2?

I actually thought they looked spectacular. Especially the close-ups on his face. You could really see the emotion coming through the visual effect.

How is being torn in half by the torso comical?

His steel look still looks better in X2. And it is sad that this being his third X film that he still really had nothing to do except get beat each time.

Was the classroom scene at the end a hint at Kitty and Peter's relationship?
