World X3 Off-Topic Thread IV - Part 1

alcohol is no fun when you puke it back up the next morning

edited because who gives a **** about my hair.

Some of us still listen... but we don't have anything interesting to say. I am unamusing as I cannot remember the last time I was ever drunk. :p

I have tried generic proscar before and must say that cialis causes less side effects though. I had terrible headache with Viagra which made sex impossible sometimes. With clomid pills I forgot about it. I would recommend it to anybody who has similar problems and this drug is above all praises.”

Okay I'm pretty sure I asked this once somewhere on this forum, but I do apologize if this is the wrong place to ask. I was reading civil war but somewhere along the line I stopped, but skipped into the second coming series, because after hearing about Hope I couldn't resist. Well now I want to just continue from there, but have absolutely no idea what I should be picking up next or what series of X-men I should be looking into. Ultimate X-Men, Uncanny.. absolutely no idea. So could someone just give me some series to head into. I really enjoyed some of the X-Force and New mutants and some others that I can't recall so just looking for some direction.

Well, depending on how much you want to get into with Hope's background, you could go back and read the rest of the Messiah trilogy: Messiah Complex, Messiah War, and Second Coming. If you don't want to do that and just go with something recent, I'd read the Schism mini-series which is the start to the most recent "jump start" to the X-Men which lead to some reshuffling of the teams and such into two separate groups of X-Men. From there, look for anything with the Regenesis tie-ins noted in their titles and issue summaries, as that's where they start to deal with all of this. Uncanny ended up being relaunched with a new #1, and they started a new series, Wolverine and the X-Men, which are kind of the two new "flagship" books after everything went down. From there, the titles have kind of split into which side they follow. The Uncanny group also has Gen Hope, X-Men, and New Mutants. The WatX group also has X-Men: Legacy, Uncanny X-Force, and X-Factor. And Astonishing X-Men has so far jumped between sides, with the current arc they're doing being on the Uncanny side and starting in March is will jump over to the Wolverine side for the foreseeable future.

Wow that was alot to take in.. Is there one big arc that crosses over all? So if I wanted to look into each to take a peak it is
1. WatX and its different series
2. Uncanny that started with a new number 1? Is that the Ultimate series or different?

Again, I'd check out Schism which leads to the start of it all.

The issues to start off for the Regenesis line up is as follows.
1. Wolverine and the X-Men #1, X-Men: Legacy #259, Uncanny X-Force #19, and X-Factor #230
2. Uncanny X-Men #1 (Ultimate is a completely separate universe, an alternate reality), X-Men #20, Generation Hope #13, and New Mutants #33

Also, there is a X-Men:Regensis one shot that picked up directly after Schism that lead into all those issues above.

Thanks very much. Also I'm not familiar with the comic world to much, but how many issues would I have to read into those and when do new ones generally come out?

That I don't really have time digging up right this instant, so I couldn't tell ya, but the Regenesis tie in arcs for several of the books started at different times, like the X-Factor one just starts this week, while others have started a couple months ago, so they're a few issues in already. You could look them up online on a comic shop that lets you order them. Midtown Comics is usually a good one. And they all usually come out at least once a month, sometimes twice if they get on a roll.

ha. it would be the one with the cornrows.

god, i'm boreddddd.

I beleive that Wolverine and the X-men #4 comes out this week. It can be a bit confusing as some titles are offering double issues in the same month lately. I thought I would save some money by cutting back on titles but now with all the doubling going on I am not saving all that much after all. :(

oh joy. I've only looked into a few of the comics mentioned so far. I'm curious overall what do people think of just paying for a subscription to marvel.com to see all the comics? I don't really have a comic book store near me to my knowledge, but I would have to check back I do believe one of the helpers suggested a website for buying some comics. Of what I did kinda preview wolverine and the X-men the comic style is going to take some getting used to for me. Generation hope looked pretty good so di Uncanny X-men. I suppose I'll have to do some more digging before I decide if I really want to go buy a bulk to get caught up and ready for more.

Just curious how is X-factor is it still multiple man? Last I read I wasn't a huge fan, but thought I would ask.

I'm some swag ****
